Raul, our server at the buffet, was exceptional at giving us his best everyday. He would pull the seat for my wife, top drinks, clear plates and had everything we needed quickly and with a smile.

Resort was clean, food average, beer draft and XX beer in cans only. Water at front desk limited and when asking for additional water, we will send up to room. Front desk manager was not able to assist with obtaining a bottle of water. Baja Palace may be better.

Great place. Caring Staff
Please don't believe those negative reviews out there. Nothing gets stolen from the rooms. Use your safe. Be smart. I had not been to Mexico in almost 30 years, but I'm so glad we picked this resort. We could not have felt safer and had a great time... considering (more on that later). The airport is a bit hectic because of the timeshare salesmen, but that is not the resort's fault. Upon arrival we were greeted with friendly smiles and were given margaritas. We booked a garden view but were given a better view.... my guess is because it wasn't too full on a Tuesday. The room itself was good, but we went for the beach and pools, so as long as the room is decent we are fine with that. But don't get me wrong, it was still very clean. As soon as you walk out into the courtyard you can smell the grill by the pool...always making tacos, hamburgers, hot dogs, shrimp skewers.. delicious. The buffets were great. Plenty of food to choose from. We had 1 sit down dinner, a four course meal, and it was perfect. We had access to Riu Santa Fe. That one was a bit busier, so we are glad we stayed at the palace to avoid the rowdy younger ones. We took a trip to El Arco and it was beautiful. Constant harrassment at the marina to purchase adventures, but again, not the resort's fault. The beach in front of the resort is corded off so that you are not harrassed by the vendors. Even if you go further onto the beach, you just nicely say "no gracias" and they keep moving. They are not pushy at all. Now to what I alluded to earlier. My wife got sick the day before we headed to Cabo. She was doing ok until our last day there. Room service brought a sandwhich and the young man could see how sick she was. An hour later he called to check on her. He then came by and brought hot tea. He then told the manager about my wife and another young man brought chicken soup. That wasn"t on the menu, and they made it just for her. This is how the Riu palace made us feel... like they cared. You are almost always greeted with a friendly smile and an "hola" when you pass the staff. You always see the young lady from hospitality making her rounds making sure everyone is ok. We will be back. In summary... if you are young and want a crazy time, stay at the adults only Baja California or Santa Fe. But if you want a relaxed time without all the craziness, stay at the Palace.
