This resort is stunning and very easy to get around. The food was so good! We were there for New Year’s Eve, which is my husband’s birthday, The seafood towers had everything you would expect and they didn’t skimp on anything. The buffet had everything you could imagine, Mexican, pasta, fresh fruit, juices, cold smoked salmon, fresh breads, bagels, eggs Benedict, homemade refried beans that were THE BEST! The one only thing that was a disappointment was the outside poolside snack place. The burgers were sort of dry or overcooked. Room was very clean, mini bar was nice.

Amazing
I almost avoided RIU properties based on random comments, but absolutely loved the Riu Baja. Super, super clean, modern, good steak, lobster, swordfish, tacos & drinks all included. No extra charges at checkout ever & access to Riu Santa Fe & Paradise Cabo. Would definitely return and will. We had a 3 person, 3 bed room

Jan 15, 2026Disappointing and Rude service at Steakhouse - Management follow-through lacking
We are currently staying at Riu Palace Baja California with a group of eight guests across four rooms. Two of us are travel advisors who routinely recommend properties to clients, so our feedback comes from experience and attention to service quality. During our recent dinner at the steakhouse restaurant, we encountered exceptionally poor service from our server, Evelyn, and from two managers, one named Javier and the other was a female who we missed the name. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident. Earlier in our stay, we also dined at the steakhouse and had Evelyn as a server. Her attitude on that first visit was curt and dismissive, but we chose not to make an issue of it at the time. On our second visit, a member of our group joined slightly later than the rest, but we had not yet been seated to a table, and we requested an additional seat at our table. Despite being part of the same group, and despite her husband already dining with us, we were told she would need to eat at another restaurant on her own and they would not accommodate another seat. There was absolutely no legitimate reason provided for why they could not accommodate “one” additional person to our table, and no effort to accommodate a simple change, even though the solution would not have disrupted the dining room or service. The communication from all three restaurant staff was rude, and their tone was inflexible and unfriendly to the point that we ultimately decided to leave without dining. We reported the incident to night management following the experience. We were assured that hotel management would reach out to us by 10:00 a.m. the next morning to discuss the matter. We are now going to bed at 11:00 p.m., and we have not heard from anyone. The lack of follow-through is equally disappointing and reflects a broader issue in guest service and accountability. As travel advisors who routinely book all-inclusive properties for clients, service is a large part of what determines whether we recommend a resort. This experience has unfortunately been below expectations and far below the level of hospitality we have encountered at other Riu properties. We hope the hotel takes this feedback constructively, as the resort has many positive attributes and strong potential. Quality service is what brings guests back, and addressing issues like these would make a meaningful difference.

Relaxing, safe, clean, comfy beds!
We have been to Cabo five times and this is our favorite resort so far. The staff is attentive, they seem happy to work here and very friendly to all guests. The whole place is clean and safe. The food is great for breakfast and lunch (and like all the all-inclusive resorts, dinner and drinks are okay) but we are in Mexico and everywhere you go outside of the resort, you will find amazing food and drinks. Make sure to leave and do some excursions to learn about the culture here. We always do and never regret it! If you like a memorable party, this place can party! We are in our late 40’s early 50’s and went to the white party and had maybe a little too much fun so we skipped the other two 😆 but 20-30 year olds seemed to have a great time! Well done Riu!

Our experience was by and large excellent. The on site restaurants were good, the rooms large, nicely laid out and service personnel excellent . Make no mistake this is a party place. Ambience is noisy, 2 loudspeakers boom out pounding music all day long through the whole pool area. We’re both seniors looking for quiet, having a drink, reading a book, enjoy some sun. Unfortunately will not return
