We had a really great dinner at Moctezum at Riu Latino, and a lot of that was because of our waiter, Brian. He was super friendly from the start, very quick, and clearly eager to make sure we were taken care of. He got our table set up right away, remembered our drinks without us having to repeat anything, and kept everything moving smoothly the whole night. Nothing ever felt rushed, but we also never had to wait — it was the perfect balance. Brian had a great attitude and made the experience feel easy and enjoyable, which honestly makes such a difference on vacation. Service like that doesn’t go unnoticed. If you’re dining at MoftEzuma and get Brian as your waiter, you’re in good hands.

Beautiful resort, great time
I traveled and stayed here from 10/3-10/6/2025, it’s about 40min away from Cancun Airport so keep that in mind. Overall my experience was great, upon arrival we were quickly greeted by the front desk (bell hop held the bags) arrived around 12:15pm but check in isn’t until 3pm (keep this in mind) so we were told we had two choices wait until 3pm or pay $75 USD to upgrade our room to a partial ocean view and check in right now, we requested a king vs a double bed, and was told they’d be up to make the double a king lol. We paid it lol, and then received our complimentary champagne, keys, etc. btw the lobby was BEAUTIFUL. Went to the room, great size, nice view, bathroom was huge, beautiful room overall, mini bar was stocked nicely. Food: 5 restaurants, we only went to the Italian and the main dining hall with the buffet, the Italian restaurant was pretty good 7/10. See for the food I know once you’re mass producing meals the quality will suffer that’s just reality, I’d say overall 8/10. Lunch wasn’t the greatest any of the day, but breakfast and dinner were great with great options. Drinks: Again, not the highest of premium liquor used but it’s all inclusive so they were fine! 7.5/10 and they have top shelf if you request it. The bartenders were all nice. Pools: several pools, which was awesome, couple swim up bars at 2 of them (one was more so the party pool) Music: The music by the pool sucked. 2/10, one day by the party pool they started playing hip hop (FINALLY) and then the Dj got in trouble and the security turned it off, everyone was pissed because we were all having a great time.

Nicest beach vacation we’ve been to in a while
This resort is one of the best we’ve ever been too. The amenities are amazing. I loved that the a la cartes were no reservation or limits. The different atmospheres at the pools and beach means that everyone can be happy. Worth every penny

Dec 29, 2025Nice sun and good buffet food
We were at this adult only hotel for a week in December. We would give it a 3.5 to 4 star rating overall. It has a good buffet food (better than a couple of the restaurants there), pleasant staff and a scenic beach area. However, their 4 pools are all next to each other so there is no quiet pool for reading with some peace. There was usually loud heavy beat music most of the mornings and afternoons that could be heard at all the pools, and the sound could easily carry to the beach at times. There is only one store from which to buy basic toiletries or tylenol, and their prices for basic necessities are extravagant - I had to buy a plastic BIC razor and a plastic toothbrush there at the extortionate price of $35 US (about 10 X the normal price) as there is no other store or pharmacy within walking distance (it is a 45 minute walk to the next closest RIU hotel). The weather was generally sunny and good and the beach area was nice to walk along or swim in the waves.
