Spring break
We went with a large group for our kids senior spring break. Overall the resort was great. Rooms were clean, and you are right on the beach. The food was fine - typical for buffet style, not terrible but not spectacular. It was nice to have a variety of dining options. Staff was very friendly - bartenders were great. Lots of fun activities to participate in for every age group if you wanted to. Gift shop was expensive - not sure if that's just a Mexico thing, but a can of Pringles was $7

Family vacation
We enjoy the property a lot. Very clean. Very good service and activities. Lot of choice for eating. Nice and clean beach. Good for kids 3-14.

Loud and drunk
I cannot, with a good conscience, rate the hotel poorly, as, well, it delivered exactly what it advertised, but what it delivered is not for me. It is all inclusive. So expect drunk people. We were unlucky, as we had American teenagers in an adjacent room. No sleep. The teenagers left, and we got sleep for a few nights, before another rowdy bunch arrived. Again, it is all inclusive, so expect the behaviour of drunk holidaymakers. There is no escaping loud thumping music anywhere. Don't bring a book. The music goes on until after 10pm. It is loud Two pools that are dedicated to drinking alcohol. As another review mentioned, the pool was closed temporarily for sanitation when we were there; drunks find it difficult to make it to the toilet. Food great. Staff friendly. A loud smelly tractor is used to free the beach of what is natural, i. e. seaweed, yet plastic debris from the hotel is making the beach unpleasant. Heartbreaking really as the sunrises over the horizon opposite the hotel, but there are plates, mugs, food wrappers everywhere. The hotel employs someone to clean the beach. This person would not be needed if people were responsible, but, as they are not, the hotel must double the efforts to keep the beach clean of plastic that the hotel residents create. You may ask why I am giving this hotel 4 starts, yet I am being critical. Well, my complaint is not so much the hotel, but the type of person such a hotel attracts. Loud. Litter-creating. Pool defeating.

Amazing for families
Loved my stay here no need to go anywhere. with the sister hotel next door you could walk around all day and use facilities at both hotels .we stayed for two weeks over Super Bowl weekend which was funny to watch. The gym facilities is everything you need to keep yourself ticking over .Good food great kids entertainment with quizzes and shows on at night I was in bed for 21:00hrs with the kids so I didn’t see the night life the only downside to the hotel was the spa workers double booked on me, tried to make it out it was my fault at first they said they don’t treat men and then they said oh you’ve not paid for your treatment.l so we’ve cancelled your appointment everything not to put fault on their selves in the end, I just cancelled my treatment, cause I wasn’t handing my money over somebody that was dishonest anyway back to the good points great hotel like every other Riu I’ve stayed you know what you’re getting
