Staff were excellent, they were so effcient, helpfyul and always seemed happy Rooms not very well insulated as we could hear conversartions taking place next door and often very late or in the middle of the night.

Oct 25, 2026Wonderful hotel but a few problems
Can’t fault the welcoming staff: receptionists, cleaners, bar staff, chefs and waiters were all super polite and friendly. The decor and facilities were new and well maintained and all communal areas were clean and tidy. Now for the gripes: no tea/coffee making facilities in the room or in reception. This was a BIG deal for me and my family. As Brits we live on tea and not just at breakfast time! We searched far and wide for a decent cuppa, and even resorted to asking AI where we could find one. We walked for miles to find a cafe but to no avail, and even considered buying a cheap kettle, a teaspoon and a couple of mugs out of desperation! 😄 The second problem was mealtimes. Breakfast didn’t open until 8am meaning we had to miss out 3 out of the 4 mornings we were there, as our prebooked tours started at 8:30 but had to travel to the coach meeting point. Again, dinner didn’t start until 6pm which I thought was quite late. As early risers we like to eat our evening meal around 5pm so we’re not going to bed on a full stomach. But I appreciate these problems are specific to our family, so if you’re happy to get up late, not go on any tours, lounge around at the pool all day and have a late dinner then this schedule would be perfect for you!

2nd visit all still excellent
Had an excellent week even the weather was good. The hotel has excellent service and food quality as you would expect from Riu. The rooms and indoor public areas are well maintained and comfortable. The pool area is a little tired especially the really old umbrellas and uncomfortable subbed, we’ve been to other Riu properties where these have been upgraded.

Sep 25, 2026Hotel Concordia - Playa de Palma
Booked the holiday through Jet2 and stayed at the RIU Concordia, Playa de Palma for one week. The hotel is excellent, with great food, well appointed clean rooms and polite helpful staff. But.....what Jet2 fail to state is the hotel is close to 2 German beer kellers which are operating from lunchtime to the early hours of the morning. The area is not Spanish at all, so if you're after the tapas experience look elsewhere. Think of the area as Cologne, Frankfurt or Berlin by the sea. The other issue we had to contend with was rowdy guests returning to their rooms in the early hours of the morning thinking it was acceptable to shout and sing as loud as possible. You have been warned. This did take the shine off the holiday as the beach and promenade are great, and the bus to Palma at 2 Euros is great value. Just a note of caution with the bus. When it's busy you're better walking back to the Cathedral where you first get dropped off to catch the bus back, as you could be waiting a long time in the city and the bus may already be full.

AC turned off during the day
The AC in the rooms was turned off by the hotel every day (not working by 1:30 p.m.!). The room temperature 29 degrees Celcius! - we had the room on the 5th. floor. We were not informed about such hotel policy during booking, we are Riu class members.
