This beachfront resort was newly refurbished in 2010 and lies on a seemingly endless white beach next to Riu Palace Macao and the Caribbean Sea. The Moroccan-style architecture, with mosaic domes, archways, and white columns with fanned palm trees, adds glamour and distinction. A magnificent pool with a swim-up bar shaded by another dome faces the turquoise sea.
Riu Bambu is the perfect place for families; the kids' pool features a special water play area! RiuLand Mini-Club provides activities for kids ages 4-12. Adults will enjoy the casino and free entrance to the disco. Complimentary 24-hour WiFi is also available in the common areas of the resort (available in rooms for an additional charge).
Adults also have their own entertainment activities throughout the day. Water sports, such as windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, and body boarding are included! One introductory scuba diving lesson in the pool is also included. Every evening, enjoy live music and shows.
Your palate will be delighted with the many dining options available. Guests can partake in Asian, Italian, International buffet, and Grill Steakhouse cuisine. Delicious snacks are available 24-hours a day as well as unlimited drinks. Each room comes equipped with a fully stocked mini-bar and liquor dispenser!

So this is an honest review from a couple who had our honeymoon here. We went with Tui who were terrible both at the resort and the customer service after. We arrived with no welcome drink as promised the staff were not welcoming we were told to wait for our bags and to be taken to our room but nope that didn’t happen we found it ourselves. During the stay we had no hot water in the room for 6 days. We had bugs running all over our bathroom including medication. I sliced my finger in the tui pool another cut their foot due to the tiles coming off and injuries the tui pool was drained so no exclusive pool for 5 days with no notice. We went to the loud party pool. There was sick in this pool and around it. Friday to Mondays are party weekends. Couples were seen getting very intimate and more in there! The toilets round the pool contain used tissues and used women things on the floor. Our toilet flooded all into the bedroom on day 9. The shower head fell off the wall onto me. I was ill from the Mexican restaurant. In the steak house we asked for medium rare and it was burnt twice! The entertainment was all Spanish so we didn’t bother with it and made friends to sit and listen to our own music. Guests causing trouble was constant and were removed from the hotel. It is not a child friendly hotel also, I would not return and it’s definitely not 5 star luxury so expect to be disappointed if this is what you expect. And the hotel will accuse you for lying saying they acted straight away on the problems but didn’t and Tui accepted the hotel lies not the truth of the customer!

Love the people love the vibe the weather and beach beautiful. Everyone goes above and beyond to make you feel like you’re part of the family. We have been staying there since 2014.and look forward to being back next year after the renovations.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ RIU BAMBU – ANOTHER AMAZING STAY, AS ALWAYS! ❤️🇩🇴 Another amazing stay at Riu Bambu! As always, the food was great, the rooms were clean, and the beach was absolutely beautiful! I love that this resort offers the perfect balance of a quiet, relaxing atmosphere when you want it and a fun, lively party atmosphere when you’re ready to have a good time. But the REAL reason I return to Riu Bambu year after year is THE EMPLOYEES! ❤️ I cannot stress this enough. The staff are truly the heart and soul of this resort. They are some of the most hardworking, kind, welcoming, and genuinely amazing people I have ever met. They don’t just provide excellent service; they make you feel like family. Every time I return, I am greeted with smiles, hugs, and genuine warmth. They remember me, they take care of me, and they make every vacation feel like coming home. I want to recognize some very special people who make my stays unforgettable. ❤️ BUFFET STAFF: Carmen, Agusto (Ceaser), Luis, Berni, Familia, and Welinton. ❤️ MAIN POOL BAR STAFF: Johnny, Daniel, Casandra, Mejia, Oscar, En Paketate, and Bienva. ❤️ BAR STAFF BY BLOCK 40 (BACK POOL): Moises and Nelson. ❤️ LOBBY BAR: Padilla. ❤️ POOL AND TOWEL HUT STAFF: Every single one of you! The hardworking employees who clean and maintain the pool areas, take care of the grounds, and work at the towel hut deserve just as much recognition. Your hard work never goes unnoticed or unappreciated! I know there are many more wonderful employees whose names I may have forgotten to mention, but please know that every single one of you contributes to making this resort so special. NOW, MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THE UPCOMING RENOVATION. I sincerely hope that RIU recognizes just how valuable these employees are and that ALL of them will be welcomed back once the refurbishment is complete. I have already booked my next vacation for October 2027, but I want to be very clear about something: If the employees who have made this resort so special are not brought back, I will cancel my reservation. Beautiful beaches, renovated rooms, and updated facilities are wonderful, but they can never replace the people who make guests want to return. You can renovate a resort, but you cannot renovate the genuine warmth, kindness, loyalty, and personal connections these employees have built with returning guests. I don’t return to Riu Bambu simply because of the resort. I RETURN BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE! These employees are the reason I feel comfortable, safe, welcomed, and appreciated every single time I visit. They are the reason Riu Bambu feels like my home away from home. My biggest hope is that when I walk through those doors next October, I will see all those familiar faces waiting to welcome me back. RIU, PLEASE TAKE CARE OF THE PEOPLE WHO TAKE SUCH AMAZING CARE OF YOUR GUESTS! ❤️ They are your greatest asset, and they deserve to be recognized, appreciated, and brought back.
