Not the Family-Friendly Experience We Expected
While the staff and grounds were lovely, I feel it’s important for future guests to know that all three of us became sick daily from the food, which seems tied to hygiene or food handling. This issue, along with the constant upsells, poor communication, and weak family offerings, means we would not return and do not recommend. Pros: The swim-up room was great and very clean. Staff throughout the property were genuinely kind and welcoming. The resort grounds are well-maintained with lots of visible upkeep. We appreciated the cute birthday package that was left in the room. Cons: Unfortunately, several issues overshadowed the experience: (1) The constant upselling throughout the resort was overwhelming. From the moment we arrived, we were approached for a timeshare-style “membership” pitch that took up a lot of our initial time. Once on the beach, vendors were immediately allowed to approach us on the sand to sell products and services, which made it hard to relax. Even while enjoying our swim-up room, staff came by upselling spa packages. It felt like we were being sold something at every turn rather than simply enjoying our stay. (2) The food was a major problem. From the first meal to the last, all three of us experienced stomach issues daily. It felt like food was left out too long, with bugs circulating around the buffet, and cross contamination. (3) Buffets rarely changed from day to day, which added to the disappointment. (4) The WiFi is extremely poor unless you pay an upcharge — another money trap. WiFi still sucked. (5) You cannot take food from the buffet, and room service is not included, both of which felt like unnecessary nickel-and-diming. (6) Events are not clearly communicated. For example, one night there were fireworks around 2am that were never mentioned anywhere. Not inclusive of families with children. (7) The amount of smoking everywhere on the property (cigarettes, cigars, weed) was overwhelming. There didn’t appear to be designated smoking areas, which is surprising for a family resort. (8) Our daughter said the kids club didn’t run the activities listed, which was disappointing since we chose the resort partly for that. In chatting with other families, they had similar feedback. (9) Transportation wait times (train/shuttle to the beach) were sometimes 15–20 minutes. We also saw people with strollers struggle to board due to crowding and aggressive boarding.

Disgusted
--- ⭐️⭐️ 2.0 / 5.0 My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. As an experienced traveler I’m used to handling challenges, but this stay was far below basic expectations. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING... The services were poorly organized. You can’t rely on daily or consistent communication, and everything seems available only “every other day.” Even the café is open for just few hours, and when it closes you’re left with nothing but a cup of coffee. The food was very poor — my whole family found the meals almost inedible. The facilities felt neglected, crowded, and uncomfortable. It didn’t feel like a safe or respectful environment, especially for children or families. I became sick during the stay and remained unwell afterward, which makes me concerned about cleanliness and food quality. For the price paid, the conditions were unacceptable, and I believe a partial refund is justified. Overall, this was one of the worst vacations I’ve had. I would not return under any circumstances. This vacation requires a full refund not partial. As l will ensure none of family / friends ever step foot this property 😒 ---My name Stephen Duncan/Paige Itwaru I information is registered Pitwaru@hotmail.com

Family Home Run in punta cana
We picked this resort because it's a family vacation. We have a 3 year old son. My brother has a 2 year old daughter. My brother and I are custom to a high end experience. We had zero expectations coming into this trip knowing we booked the family section. Wow...... let me be perfectly honest. The rooms are fantastic!! We had a swim out room that our son loved.loads of room for my wife and I, plus there were big bunk beds for our son to play in. Now this resort is huge. You may see complaints about how far the beach is. They have a train service that we never waited a second longer than 5 min. The Beach is beautiful as usual in Dominican and the was always a Tikki hut with loungers available. No need to get up at 5am to reserve a table. Princess has a very user friendly app for booking restaurants. Let me tell you the food has been fantastic!! And every restaurant easy to book. Very friendly service to make you and the little ones right at home. I have 2 small critiques. One is that cappuccino Cafe should be open later to enjoy after dinner too. (One of our favorite spots ) lots of drinks and treats to choose from. Secondly the main buffet is not air conditioned and can get quite warm. But really not a deal breaker because the beach buffet in the morning is less busy, and alot cooler with heaviest of the ocean. Grand bravaro princess family club has been an absolute home run in my opinion. I can go on and on about how great it is and the staff here. If you are planning a family trip to Dominican. Trust me this should be your first choice! Keep up the rework princess team.

Good place for kids
My 8yo & I just spent a week at Princess Family Club. Highlights: loved having the suite connected to the pool; enjoyed some of the Kids’ Club activities (staff shout out: Jennyfer); Mordisco kids’ buffet was our favorite place to eat for breakfast & lunch (extremely friendly staff); maid service was spectacular; beach was beautiful (but far away from Family Club); shops were well-stocked; loved seeing the peacocks and turtles each day. Drawbacks: restaurant food did not impress and did feel pressured to buy things by a few outside vendors during our stay. We give it 4 stars overall, but will try a different hotel if we return to DR.

Princess Family Club Bavaro – Honest Review with Platinum Upgrade
We spent a full week at Princess Family Club Bavaro and added the Platinum upgrade for some added perks. While many aspects of the resort impressed us, there were some frustrations worth noting—especially regarding how the Platinum experience is structured. Pros: Outstanding Staff: Every staff member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and dedicated to providing excellent service. Quality Food and Drinks: The food was consistently good, both at the buffet and the à la carte restaurants. The drink options were plentiful and well-prepared. Clean Pools and Gorgeous Beach: The pools were clean and family-friendly, and the beach area was beautiful, with plenty of loungers and shade. Cleanliness: The entire resort was spotless. Our room was cleaned daily, and common areas were very well-maintained. Buffet Variety: There were lots of options available at every meal, including selections that worked well for both adults and kids. Easy Reservation System: Booking restaurant reservations was simple and quick through the resort’s app or concierge. Cons: Large Property and Overcrowded Trolleys: The resort is very spread out. Walking long distances is often necessary, especially when trying to access Platinum amenities. While trolleys are available, they are frequently full, which led to delays and frustration. Platinum Upgrade Has Drawbacks: While the Platinum upgrade offers nice extras like access to a private beach area, premium lounges, and higher-end bars, the execution is not ideal if you're staying in the Family Club section. We paid for Platinum but were housed in the Family Club, which is far from the Platinum facilities. This meant we had to walk long distances or wait for trolleys just to use the benefits we paid for. At the neighboring Tropical Princess, Platinum services are available throughout the resort, making them much more accessible and worthwhile. Limited Evening Entertainment: During our 7-night stay, only two nights featured shows in the main theater. For a family-focused resort, we expected more consistent nightly entertainment. Final Thoughts: Princess Family Club Bavaro has a lot to offer—great service, excellent food, and beautiful surroundings. The Platinum upgrade provides nice perks, but it is not essential and may not be worth the added cost if you are placed in the Family Club section. Guests should be aware of the layout and how access to Platinum services is managed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but those looking for seamless access to premium amenities may want to consider nearby alternatives like the Tropical Princess.
