SEMI inclusive..most is extra $$
We have been to all inclusive for 30 years..this is the WORST so called 5 star we've been to. Lineups for everything..buffet service slow..bar service very slow Food selection average for 4 star.. Liquor selection 3.5 star. No pool cushions on lounge chairs unless you pay for Star class Only hotdogs or hamburgers at snack restaurant. No snack buffet of any type Dozens of hotel staff Schilling the prime class ( timeshare scam) Many zones empty for star class only We stayed at a Royalton 2 years ago All adults were welcome in adult section..now only if you paid to stay in adult section can you get ANY service. Not a beer or a plate of fries Pffht Everything is extra Better liquor..surf rider..batting cage.. Not just the motorized activities 672 rooms..2 kayaks on the beach Ham pizza not available for takeout window..but pepperoni is No reason..both meats are visible from order windows. Very short staff and shortages of standard foods Never booking anything Hilton / Royalton again!

We will definitely book this resort again.
My partner and I spent a week at Planet Hollywood Cancun, and this is our review. It was our first time at this resort, so we didn't know what to expect. We had heard lots of bad reviews, so we wanted to give you our honest opinion. The ride from the airport to the resort took about 40 minutes. Check-in was very quick and efficient. (10 minutes max) We booked a swim-out room in building 14, which was very close to the lobby. We checked into our room and were very surprised at the size and decor. It was a beautiful room. It did have a bit of a musty smell, but all rooms on the first floor that have swim outs are known to have this. We requested a dehumidifier, which was immediately brought, and the smell went quite quickly. The area outside of our bedroom was fantastic. We had our own daybed and loungers set in the pool. The pool was a little cooler, but we are from Canada and had no problems going for a swim daily. We used this area every evening to sit out and listen to the music coming from some of the bar areas around the property. We did not notice any bugs and really found this area to be worth the upgrade. Our room was cleaned every day, and we really had no complaints at all. There were lots of little details that made the room special. I loved the walk-in shower. No problems having hot water or no pressure. The beds were very comfortable and had many pillows. There was lots of storage space and the fridge was kept stocked with water, pop and beer. We were able to make reservations at the specialty restaurants for every night that we were at the resort. The Italian Restaurant was very nice. (we ended up going back a second night) They served you bread while you were waiting for your meal. The waiters were very personable and listened to my allergy concerns. The food was very good, and the temperature was perfect. The desserts were very tasty as well. ;) The steakhouse was very good. I found the temperature of the food to be cooler than I am used to, but the air conditioning is on quite high to keep the place comfortable, so maybe that was why? I don't know, but the taste of the food was delicious. The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was very nice. Braza, the Brazilian restaurant, was a new experience for us. They would bring barbecued meat to your table side and slice it for you. The food was amazing! They cooked pork tenderloin, sausages, lamb, chicken thighs and legs and tenderloin. The food was nice and hot. They had a buffet of rice, potatoes and greens to accompany your dish. Try the creme Brule for dessert. It was amazing! One of our favorite servers here was Fernando. He really enhanced our experience here. You can also go to Braza for breakfast if you are on the adult side. You can either serve yourself from the buffet or order items from the menu. We also went to Guys Burgers for lunch and enjoyed sitting outside. Also, you can get pizza from the Italian restaurant. That was a nice treat. People complain you have to wait 20 minutes, but you wait 20 minutes for a pizza at home?! There are four or five different types that you can choose, and they make it in front of you and cook it in their pizza oven. The buffet was quite a surprise. It offered so many options. In the evenings, there was a fried rice station where you could choose your ingredients, and there was a kids section to get fries, hot dogs, burgers, chicken nuggets, etc. There were so many options for big people. We also did the buffet for breakfast. There was an egg omelet station, a crepe station, a waffles and Pancakes Station with many toppings. There was a bread section where you could toast different types of bread, as well as a place to get a bowl of cereal. It had a very large variety of foods. You might go to the buffet and notice a line, but they were very quick and efficient, having you seated within a very short period of time. The service was fantastic. One of our favourite servers was Marlon. He always had a smile for us, plus fresh coffee and juice. After we had our dinner, we went to the theatre and watched the entertainment for the evening. They had some wonderful shows. The Michael Jackson Show was spectacular. Other nights they had acrobats, singers, dancers, they had a tribute to the Beatles, a magic show, a Mexican night with Mariachi singers, plus lots of entertainment for the children. We booked on the adult but there was a lot of common area with the family side, and I must admit that it worked. No screaming kids that you were tripping over. :) We went to the cinema one evening and watched a movie. They provided Little bags of popcorn, cans of pop, and bottles of water. The pool area was very nice and always had some sort of entertainment going on, either a foam party, live music or games. We spent most of our time at the beach, and we always found a lounger. The sand was beautiful, the water was warm and very little seaweed. The resort had a machine that cleaned the beach daily of seaweed. There was a warning to watch for jellyfish, but we never saw any. Some days they had larger waves than other days, but we didn't mind. When we would come up to the pool area for lunch, there would be loungers available, so we would sit there and watch the goings on. :) The resort did have people trying to sell you stuff, offer you coupons to watch a 90-minute presentation, but if you said no, they usually left you alone. Overall, this resort was everything I hoped it would be. The grounds were so beautiful and well-kept, I walked almost daily without shoes on (I got a blister on Day 1, and it was too sore to wear my sandals). In the evening, it is so beautiful with all of the lights, and there is no question of safety. We felt very comfortable and very safe at this resort. We would definitely go back. We met so many wonderful people and had such a relaxing time.

Great resort; Star Class experience is worth it
Amazing experience overall! We had the star class directors swim-up suite and it did not disappointment. From the moment we walked in to the lobby to the moment we checked out, the whole stay was smooth and accommodating. Star class is the way to go; we had a great time. The service is exceptional. Our butlers Alex and Trinidad went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. A WhatsApp chat was created for us to be able to easily connect with them, and they were so responsive and helpful. From booking restaurant reservations to excursions, to getting laundry service—they made it happen.

Tracy says: “Don’t go Here!”
This was a terrible experience. I went on a Pickleball Trip Vacation to find the most terrible courts I have ever played on! Restaurant access was purposely limited to try to upsale! The general Buffet was better than the restaurants I was able to get into. However, it was lacking too! Room Service was not delivered. Drink selection was limited to try to upsale and poor to average quality. Activities were limited. Restaurant reservations on their app reported as full. However, when you went to go see for the time, they were only at 25 percent capacity. Obviously, trying to bait and switch or upsell! Maid Service was slow or did not replenish everything! No hot tubs on site! The weather was nice! But, I don’t think the resort made that happen! I would not return to this place unless it was a free ride! Terribly disappointing for the money spent!

Okay place but wouldn’t recommend
We were a group of 27- family and friends with children from 2-18years old. Overall, everything was “okay” but nothing great. Far better resorts for lower price tags. Wouldn’t recommend to a friend or visit again. It’s all inclusive, but everything costs extra- surfing, extra, trampoline park extra, arcade extra, reservations extra. Reservations were extremely difficult to make on the app and no one at the front desk would help at all.. if you are more than 2 people reservations will be extremely difficult to make, yet the ones we did make costed an extra $100-150, and the restaurants were half empty. The food was okay, nothing great but not terrible. The activities were a complete bust- lots for “star class” which again, extra fee but very minimal things for regular guests. The evenings shows were also very lame- not many people attended.. mainly just random music playing. The events that were planned were very unorganized. We had several issues with bookings and no one at the front desk would provide any assistance. My mother and three kids had to change room THREE times during a 7 night stay and would not be compensated in anyway.. they moved her because they needed to repair a leaking toilet, then put her in a room with one single bed, 4 people, then moved her again the next day to double occupancy room. The staff had 0 empathy or care for the disruption caused by this. All 6 of our bedrooms were extremely damp and unpleasant to sleep in, some had AC, some were broken. Not enough beach or pool chairs. Would rate 5/10.. the resort itself is beautiful and has a lot of potential, just fell very short on our expectations.
