Amazing stay
Amazing experience. Beautiful resort, incredibly well maintained and wonderful customer service. The food is delicious, especially Blue Agave, Cielo and the Lunch Box - Alexes, Celeste and Brisa and all the staff were wonderful and our concierge Jonathan was excellent!

Good Food and Service at the Cielo restaurant.
I had two really nice experiences eating at the Cielo restaurant. The first time I went there my waitress was Juanita and she did an excellent job of giving recommendations on what to order. The food was well prepared and delicious so I decided to go back. I was not disappointed. This time my waitress was Noemi. She recommended the birria. Once again I had a delicious meal with good service. Captain David, the manager, was going from table to table checking on customer satisfaction. He's very personable and made me feel very comfortable and at home.

Celsius has the best food
The restaurant Celsius was amazing and the food was 5 star. I had some of the food and it was delicious. Grisey was an excellent waitress. When I was chilling by the pool. She would come and ask if I wanted a drink or something to eat. Excellent service. Definitely would recommend this for any time of the day.

Fantastic Vacation
Just returned home after a wonderful week at Paradisus Playa del Carmen. We were a family of four with a baby and a 5 year old. We upgraded to the Family Concierge package at the last minute and were given a one-bedroom suite that included a little kitchenette and living room area, as well as a large balcony with a jacuzzi. While we would have enjoyed our stay just as much in a smaller room, the Family Concierge upgrade was absolutely worth the extra money. It allowed us to use the Family Concierge pool (which was our favorite daily swim spot), to eat at the Lunch Box for breakfast and lunch (great food, quiet atmosphere by the pool, and no line-ups), and it meant that our concierge (Eduardo) was able to book us a different a-la-carte restaurant for dinner at our preferred family-friendly times for every single night of our stay. I would absolutely pay for the Family Concierge again if we come back. They also had a nice lounge with snacks and bathrooms right by the pool, gave our kids little backpacks with gifts inside, and had some other things included that we didn't end up using (such as a free excursion outside of the hotel, time at the spa, and an adults-only dinner at the paid steak house). Perhaps if we had other family members with us to watch our kids, we would have used these extra perks, but our kids weren't comfortable being left at the Kidsdom daycare centre because they would have to be separated due to their ages (although we did check it out and it seemed really great and is open until 10pm. They even take the older kids to the evening shows). Other highlights for us included the Aquazone water park, the pirate ship pool, the koi pond and ice-cream parlour, the beach, and the evening shows (very professional and super family-friendly). We were also very impressed with the food - great restaurant quality, not just great resort food. We ate at all the restaurants that were family friendly and they were all delicious and well-serviced. We did have some mild digestive troubles near the end of our trip, but nothing that disrupted our trip or raised concerns for us. I especially loved the one night where they hosted some kind of traditional Mexican festival at the Kanna sandy beach area - that was fabulously executed and really fun for the whole family. Felt like we weren't in a resort, but at a real Mexican event. My only complaint is that in some spots near the forest, the coati are a nuisance. One unzipped our backpack and took a few things.

Solid Choice
We recently stayed at Paradisus Playa del Carmen for the second time, and overall, it was a great experience. We specifically chose Paradisus again because we had Melia points from our visit last year and wanted to return for the proximity to the Xcaret parks (we visited two this trip). If we hadn’t had the credit, we likely wouldn’t have returned, but we’re glad we did—the food and service remained consistently good. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, with lots of nature and a distinct Mexico vibe. The property is very well maintained and the restaurants are all gorgeous. Our kids (ages 9, 10, and 13) enjoyed the AquaZone waterpark and having the freedom to explore without it feeling overwhelming. There are some shows at night, but not much in terms of entertainment or nightlife, so the evenings are on the quieter side, attracting a lot of families with young children. If you’re looking for a resort with constant activities and a lively nightlife, this probably isn’t the best fit. For our family, three nights was perfect, and then we moved on to another hotel in Cancun. Overall, it’s a very good value for the price, especially for families looking for a well-kept, beautiful resort with great food and a relaxed atmosphere.
