  Always a relaxing and unforgettable experience

  Great location and service. I definitely am planning to go back the OutRigger Waikiki Beach. The room was nice and modern. The sheets and bedding were very comfortable for us. It had a very family atmosphere with very clean areas aside from the construction. Shout out to the staff and Ricky for helping us out with all our needs!

  Our place to stay (and Staycation) each visit to O'ahu.

  Perfect location, amazing staff members always willing to assist and ensure your stay is top notch. Rooms are always clean, updated and housekeeping staff are so fun if you leave a quick hello note, they will write back and my visit turned into a communication chain of fun ideas and appreciation and of thanks !!! Perfect spot to surf and Duke's is always an amazing spot to have a solid breakfast buffet or dinner watching the sunset. L:ooking forward already to visiting there again soon on our next staycation from Maui to O'ahu !!!!

  Brutal

  It is absolutely not worth coming here during the renovations right now, and I won't be bothering to after. Any reviews stating it's all good right now just don't make any sense, at all. In no way is it fine there. Jack hammering next to you for breakfast or lunch or on the beach is constant. As is the general construction noise and chaos. 90% of hotel space is boarded up so there is zero hotel ambience, just dry wall corridors leading you outside or to the make shift drywall enclosed check-in. The elevators are iffy if working, and there's no escalator. The food quality and selection has suffered through it all as they are down to 1 kitchen instead of 2. The pool is closed for renovations,but we were not aware of this and was the only place one of my family members was planning to spend time (instead of the beach) for health reasons. The room renos (in which there's construction debri left behind doors etc) have made it so there's no mood lighting at all- super bright or lights off, that's it. There's no storage for anything including the washroom- you can't even put one hook on the wall? So strange. There's no privacy to get changed due to the open concept washroom- so you have to take all your stuff and change on the toilet, there isn't anywhere to put clothes while you change except on the toilet lid. In a couple of our rooms (we had 4 total) there was only 1 light switch and light for the shower/toilet area that has a door and the open concept area- so at night if you want to use the washroom you need to use it in the dark or turn on the surgery lights and wake up anyone else still sleeping. We had to switch rooms mid-stay due to the AC leaking (this is different then the other common issue of dripping condensation from the units). The acting manager was so rude, just brutal, and no idea why as we were being very nice, to that point, despite the gong show. At least fake empathy or care, anything would he better then the attitude given. I feel horrible for the staff in general to have to work through this craziness and deal with the barage of complaints. Bellman, Trevor, is phenomenal at customer service, every staff member dealing with people during this gong show needs to be at his caliber. Being open during this renovation was a big mistake unless they are going to offer huge discounts to return to those blindsided by the extreme renovations. No one being told at booking that the hotel is being renovated would ever think it's to this degree while being open, it's just insane. We've been coming here for over 20 years and my husband for 30 but I don't see us returning here. Outrigger managed to ruin 3 decades of good memories here and butchered their rooms and nostalgic feel- just another soulless and generic hotel. Although there's plenty of people who no doubt complained that the hotel before felt dated, they could have stayed at any other bland stark hotel and Outrigger could have set themselves apart as one of the one local hotels left with traditional character and charm for the rest of us to enjoy. *** We contacted the hotel to see about resort fee refunds, seeing as there was zero resort to enjoy- the response was overly defensive over a politely asked request. She stated we never "complained" while on-site or they would have done something for us. We 100% did, the front desk clearly just didnt note it and didn't do as they should have. That being said, you want us to pack up 4 rooms, 7 people, and stay somewhere else we clearly didn't want to or we would have booked there to start with? Nonsense.

  Best in Waikiki Overall

  Despite the pool being closed due to renovations, this is still the BEST hotel. It’s central location and easy beach access saves so much time. Hotel front desk and housekeeping were very accommodating, friendly and efficient. Unlike other hotels, rooms are made up early and also ready at check-in. Beach is clean, expansive and very close to other types of activities. On site restaurants have kids menu and are priced reasonably. Hula pie is out of this world!

  Another great time at Outrigger

  Always a great stay at Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort. Newly remolded rooms are very nice: love the new open layout. As always, the staff and cleaning crew were great. Nice view from room.
