  Bad weather sadly

  There were pros & cons to give 3 out of 5 . Booked in November , room only as we like to explore restaurants . Booked oceans room asked for upper floor and said I was celebrating a milestone bd . Mother Nature decided not to be nice , that being said , got lower floor room with a view of a tree , not one person acknowledged my bd . Safe didn't work nespresso didn't work and there were no robes just slippers . To many it maybe petty but we saved up for this trip . They fixed safe. Replaced nespresso and after 4x asking we got robes . Resort is clean , workers are friendly , servers and bartenders at Gizmos , mix and pool bar are great , pools and hot tub were clean Always had a chair on beach. Even though it wasn't good weather . Chesterfields had a great breakfast , and went to Mr Chow for birthday dinner which was very good . Outside of resort we also went to casino and did a trip to Pinel Island a must do ! Taxi stand was helpful being on resort as well .

  Fabulous room and view on the 4th floor

  Our lovely 1 bedroom suite on the 4th floor with the huge balcony was like new and well organized. Overall, the restaurant food was very good. Staff were all very friendly. Our favorite was Ruffino at The Shack, a true gentleman. The resort had lovely gardens and pools and was very clean.

  Great Getaway

  We stayed at Oceans for a week on the All Inclusive plan. Our room was on the 3rd floor and had great views of the bay and phillipsburg and the sunset was gorgeous. We chose not to have housekeeping and just exchanged towels once so I can’t comment on that part of the room. Showers had good pressure and always hot. Beds comfortable and the air conditioning was some of the best I’ve had. We liked the amount of stairs to balance out our eating but those with mobility issue may struggle. We liked being able to explore the ruins of Fort Amsterdam on property, the pools were clean and never crowded and the beach is so clear with soft sand and easy entry. We could snorkel SXM underwater from the hotel which was a nice plus. Never had issues getting pool or beach chairs and the hot tub is actually hot. While not adults only we saw almost no children. While the towel exchange isn’t fun it’s also not as big of an issue as some reviews make it seem. Food here is better than most all inclusives at this price point. We really liked the Ala Cart at Pure Ocean but the Jerk Chicken at Gizmos, Bronx Pizza at Slice, and Fish Tacos at the Shack were standouts. We did pay the surcharge for Mix once and you should too. The food and drinks were WELL worth the money. The only feedback here would be to make coffee and tea service easier in the morning for those not wanting breakfast and wanting to instead walk the beach- pestering the Pureocean staff was not fun. The bar staff here is amazing. The swim up bar was fast and easy everytime. But the rockstars here are Lew and Oraine at Gizmos. They knew our order every night and drinks landed at our seats before we settled in. They brought joy to their work and our visits. There is little “entertainment team” which this reviewer appreciated. The quiet is the escape I needed. Nightly entertainment at the beach bar was so good and just the right mix for fun but relaxing island vibe. Bars close early but you can get beer and wine until 12AM at Slice - we loved seeing Alec at 11:00 near nightly for a slice while playing cards. It’s quite at night which again, I loved, but others may not. The outdoor spaces here are just great and really smart choices by the design team We rented a car on property- fast and easy. Driving is a little chaotic on the island - like most places- but exploring the capitals and beaches made it well worth it!

  Don't do it !

  Nice rooms with a beautiful view. We paid ¢500,00 per night only for the room. Breakfast is ¢ 32,00 pp. The food during breakfast is good. 3 of our dinners there were terrible. Cold meet, long waiting times and bad staff did us decide not to have dinner there any more. But the most terrible experiience was the attitude of most of the staff behind frontdesk and in the restaurants. They show less hospitality; mostly they showed uninterested, slowlyness. Price-quality index is bad.

  Location is the best thing

  Stayed at Oceans Divi with my family of four between Christmas and New Year’s. We had a mixed experience. This is a 3 star hotel, I would not consider it a 4 star. If you know that going in then you can adjust your expectations. It’s also a timeshare property with a lot of people clearly timeshare so that seemed to impact the level of service in that they likely do need as much in amenities or attention from the resort. Beach - The location of the resort is what makes staying here worth it. The beach is beautiful, clear, clean, calm. There was always chairs and umbrellas available never a wait or had to reserve early. The Aqua Mania beach attendants are very nice and helpful. Note that people not staying at the resort can come and rent chairs for the day and there is not designated chairs or locations for hotel guests and if day trippers arrive first they get the prime front row. The chairs are old with holes in them and no cushions. There is also no beach food and drink service so you do have to walk up to the restaurant bar. This is one example why it’s not 4 star, hotel guests should get better chairs and spots on the beach and food service. Restaurants/Food/ Drinks - The food is all good except Pure Oceans breakfast buffet and buffet dinner which were not good with limited options. We did the all inclusive and it was well above average from other all inclusives with top alcohol options. The Shack was the standout with great, fresh Mexican. Pure Ocean beach bar made good cocktails. If you’re not doing the all inclusive the prices are very reasonable $10 for cocktails and value for quality food. Pools - Pools were all very clean and were never crowded. No need to reserve chairs which was really nice. Room - The room at Oceans was big and clearly recently updated. Oceans rooms are in a different building on a hill. Would recommend staying on third or fourth floors as the beach views are amazing. You can see the cruise ships coming and leaving daily and the sunsets are beautiful from big balconies. This was definitely a plus for our stay. Room cleaning - If you want to clean your own rom stay here. Cleaning never happened on a five night stay. After the third day of no cleaning we asked for someone to clean while we were on an excursion between 1-5pm. When we got back at 4:50pm the room hadn’t been cleaned and I asked the cleaner in the hallway and she said she was off in 10 minutes. I got her to at least change the sheets but she had no towels or toilet paper left on her cart. I emptied the garbage! I had to get toilet paper and towels myself from the front desk and bring them to the room. They didn’t seem to care at all and other people were also complaining about no cleaning. This makes the hotel a 1 star. Hotel grounds - The outside common areas and restaurant interiors are dated and in need of updating (except Mix restaurant at Oceans which is new). Overall everyone was friendly but you had to ask for everything, especially at restaurants to have water at the table, for silverware, etc. again why this is a 3 star not a 4. The location with the beach and the views is the main reason to stay.
