    Don’t Believe the Bad Reviews 10/10

    This resort is a perfect 10 Before I left for this trip, I was a little concerned due to some of the reviews. Especially with the service levels & food quality. But that is so far from the truth. The service was incredible & everyone was extremely friendly. The regular buffet food is okay, but they have live cooking stations in the buffets with all sorts of meat and seafood. That’s what I ate everyday and it was amazing. There are a couple things that could be easily fixed here, such as adding more chairs/umbrellas to the beach & waterpark, but I never had an issue finding a spot in the shade. We ate at Space walker & it was very good! The steak was great, but make sure you ask for a double portion. & the sweetery is unbelievable! So good! The Karisma app was great, it let you know where various activities and character pop-ups would be. We met all the characters we wanted to. The resort is a perfect size, everything is in walking distance. Please don’t believe the negative reviews. If you have kids, this is the place you want to be!

    Nickelodeon Punta Cana - Not a 5 Star Resort

    The resort has wonderful facilities for my grand kids (ages 7,6 3) - pool, swim up bar, beach, water park and character sightings often. I was very stressed out most of the time because it was impossible to get dinner reservations, especially at the fun SpaceWalker restaurant (which I was told originally that we could make those reservations a week before we get there which was misinformation). We were there 5 nights and never was able to get in there. In order to make reservations one has to go to the app at 9 am for that night's reservation. This means everyone at the resort jumps on the app at the same time so the reservations disappear right before your eyes. There were 9 of us (three rooms) and I couldn't make the reservation for 9, it had to be broken down by room or smaller numbers. I was told to talk to the concierges about this as they offered to help, but when I came back to their offices when they told me to towards the end of the day, they usually weren't there, plus none of them texted me back which they had promised to do earlier in the afternoon. I also spoke to the manager at one point but he bounced me back to the concierges. We were only able to secure reservations for two nights (Italian and Asian but we split up since the Asian doesn't offer much for kids). So we had to buffet it the other nights. Each buffet night had a different theme but overall the buffet food wasn't that great. One bar didn't have Jack Daniels. It's about the only place I've ever been to that didn't follow up with a survey which I obviously would have filled out. But now I see why they didn't. I emailed two concierges whom I had been emailing before the trip to send me a survey, neither of them did. I emailed the Karisma parent company asking for a survey, automated response was that someone would follow up with me - no response or survey was sent - which certainly says a lot about the corporation. The whole dining issue would be so easy to fix with another system. I've never run into this situation and I've stayed at many resorts. There were other issues I could go into, but these are the major ones. Bottom line I probably wouldn't recommend this to families, but at least I would warn them about what they will run into, and they can decide for themselves whether they want to go through all that or not. My grandkids thoroughly loved it, but I wasted so much time and energy trying to have a great family dinner experience but to no avail. We were all very shocked about this place because it is listed as a 5 star resort but we'd give it a 3.

    Excellent family trip with toddlers

    Excellent resort for families. Do wish they had more snacks available for kids but overall great experience. The staff was wonderful and the rooms were impeccable. Julissa helped to ensure our group had the best experience, from providing upgrades to communicating with us every day for our activities. The team at Nick place was the absolute best as well!

    Stay away

    We are currently staying on the resort and have had many issues with poor service, unfriendly staff and poor customer service with management and front desk. We booked back in November through westjet and booked requesting connecting rooms only to get here and was told too bad. As a single mother traveling with children and my parents, I'm extremely disappointed that staff and management that do not care about their travellers. My kid's are forced to split up, hotel staff and management do not care!! Also, the food isn't the best, especially for kids. The concierge only seems helpful if you're willing to pay the ridiculous extra fees for the character dining or excursions or if you're a prestige traveller.

    Average at best

    We visited this hotel during reading week, and while it boasts beautifully maintained grounds, there are several aspects that fell short of our expectations. The resort's smaller size is a plus especially when having little kids. Our swim-up nest suite was absolutely perfect, providing a lovely retreat. However, the dining experience left much to be desired. The buffet was disappointing, and I would rate the à la carte options a modest 7/10. Although the hotel advertises its accommodations for guests with celiac disease, my nephew ended up relying solely on burger patties throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the staff did not contribute positively to our experience. Many were unfriendly, particularly at the front desk, and there was a noticeable eagerness for tips. The entertainment options were also lacking. If you’re hoping to see Nickelodeon characters like Paw Patrol or SpongeBob, you may find yourself disappointed. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel and would not consider returning.
