    Fantastic stay as always!

Saul was amazing at check in and check out! He was incredibly friendly! Alfredo, Ignacio, and Fernanda at the buffet were always joyful and happy to see us. They were wonderful servers! Jerzon was always very attentive at the pool.

    Melia Puerto Vallarta January 2026

Great staff, the grounds are kept in great shape. This is a good location with the marina flea market on Thursday's during the winter. Sevice rating was lowered due to check in problems, otherwise it was 5 star. Entertainment is okay.

    Room for improvement.

My mom and I just spent 10 days here. For reference we are 74 and 50. The good: 1. Location at Marina is great. The shops and restaurants are just across the street. Marina beaches are beautiful and walkable and well maintained. 2. Breakfast was great, and had everything we wanted and Gabriel was our favorite waiter and employee of the entire trip. I just wish they would label the syrup, honey, etc. for the French Toast and pancakes. Juice and fresh fruit was great. Toast and bagels, not so much. I’m a soda drinker and loved that they would fill up my tumbler and give me Coca Light and ice, or water for mom, at breakfast every morning. Pineapple juice was the real deal 3. Room was clean and comfortable and shower had insane water pressure and plenty of hot water. Balcony was nice and we could see the water and the sunsets. Now, the Bad: 1. Check in process was absolutely horrible and slow and it’s like they forgot we traveled all day from another country. It was the worst check in process I’ve experienced in Mexico ever. 2. The food was really not good. Breakfast was nice, but we didn’t like the lunch buffet at all, and the snack bar was mostly gross. Subpar pizza, flavorless burgers with no seasoning. Fries were decent. Congealed pasta and chicken nuggets. Ick. We started venturing out for lunch which defeats the purpose of all inclusive. Dinner at the buffet for Italian night was pretty good, we didn’t enjoy any of the other theme nights. Food cold, or just not tasty. The process for making reservations for the 2 à la carte restaurants was really frustrating and ridiculous. 9-3 you have to go up to the lobby to see Guest Services. They say they only do reservations for that day or the next, but they are always full and so then look ahead for openings another day. We had 4 dinner coupons for a 9 night stay, but we were only able to use 3 of them because they never had an opening when we wanted. Stupid process. They need to find a better system that we don’t have to leave the beach or pool to go to the lobby for that. Fish House was excellent both nights we went. Best 2 meals of our entire stay. Mole and Tacos was awful and we didn’t enjoy ANY of our food or the service or the drinks. That night a belligerent drunk girl was causing a disturbance during our entire dinner. Security was involved but it was a massive distraction to the entire staff and we wouldn’t ever eat there again. 3. Beach and pool were both beautiful with lots of chairs and palapas but if you want to be on the beach or the artificial beach above, you need to get your spot before 7-8 am. I’m a morning person so it was not a problem but it was frustrating because security was saving spots for the hotel manager’s VIP friend/family and so they were reserving spots and they either didn’t show up or showed up an hour or two and then left all the towels behind so nobody else could use the chairs. One morning security didn’t get the spot set up in time and security was taking up the items of another guest that was at the palapa next to us and telling them they had to sit somewhere else. We had been down there, set up for the day, since 6:30 am! We all raised such a stink, they finally set up the VIP lady somewhere else. She stayed on the beach less than 2 hours. Very uncool. The pool is massive but the water was so freezing cold we barely got in. We had wanted to do aqua gym and activities but too cold! We would probably not stay here again. Beds were rock hard. Drinks were good though.

One of the worst resorts in Mexico. STAY AWAY!!

Worst Mexico resort I've ever been to. To start: Food: Sub-par at best. The only good meal we had was at Tauro, which is not included with the all-inclusive package. The Fish House was subpar and don't get me started on Mole'. We ended up just eating on the economy most nights. What Buffet closes at lunch time? The only place to eat during the afternoon is the snack bar near the pool. Hotdogs and burgers and some fruit, no thanks. To make a reservation you have to go to the lobby desk. You can't make a day of reservation as all the openings are filled. One person at the desk requests these dumb coupon things they want you to fill out with date, time, etc, saying the restaurant will need to see it or you won't get a seat. That's not true, we were never asked for it. The other person at the desk didn't care. Tried to make multiple reservations in advance. Nope, can't do that either. The pool: More kids then adults at the swim-up bar. The pool is sectioned off but obviously nobody pays attention to it. The bar is dirty and the drinks are standard Mexican resort fare (almost no alcohol.) The beach is TINY with a large concrete structure placed out in the water making the swimming area even smaller. Plus, there are non-resort vendors all over the place making it very crowded. Rooms: Here we go!! The first room we were assigned was straight out of the 1970's!! Everything pained brown, ZERO electric outlets, the bed was made of some sort of stone I think. The bathroom mirror had lines and mold looking spots all over it making it almost unusable. We asked for another room and were given the "upgrade." Yes, the second room was nicer but it was the same room with white paint and some outlets. House Keeping kept leaving dirty cleaning rags on out counters, almost every day we would come back and there would be a dirty rag on the main counter or the bathroom counter. The shower would run rusty water. We had to turn it on then off, let the shower drain and then turn it on again, then it was fine. Day one, the bathroom sink stopper would not work leaving the sink unable to drain. We called to have it fixed. Maintenance came and pulled it open saying they'd be back to fix it the next day. Nope!! Never saw them again. Housekeeping pulled the curtains half off the tracks and never fixed it also. I could go on but you get the point. Also, there is one bar for the entire resort after 7pm. I'm sure I'm forgetting things but we will not be going back and would not recommend this resort to anyone. Thanks.
