NEVER AGAIN!
Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding Unacceptable Stay Conditions – Immediate Action Required Dear Melia Madrid Management, I am writing to formally express my outrage and extreme disappointment regarding the appalling conditions I experienced during my recent stay at your hotel. To begin with, I was absolutely horrified to discover blood stains on the bed linens upon checking into my room. This is not only deeply unhygienic but also completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that claims to offer a high standard of hospitality. Such negligence raises serious concerns about your housekeeping standards and the overall safety of your facilities. To make matters worse, I was abruptly awakened at 8:00 AM by loud drilling and construction noise, due to scaffolding work during the stay taking place just outside the building. Nowhere during the booking process was I informed that such disruptive construction would be occurring. If I had been made aware, I would have chosen alternative accommodation. I was looking forward to rest and relaxation—not to be jolted awake by industrial noise. This experience was not only distressing but completely at odds with the standard of comfort and professionalism I expected from your brand. I demand a full explanation of how such a lapse in cleanliness occurred, why guests were not informed of the construction, and what immediate steps you are taking to address this. Furthermore, I am requesting a full refund for this disgraceful stay. Anything less would be an insult to your guests and your own brand reputation plus I will post this review online also if nothing is done. I expect a prompt and serious response to this complaint. Please consider this a formal notice that I will not hesitate to escalate this matter publicly and through relevant consumer protection bodies if it is not resolved appropriately. John Cahill

A 5 star-less property!
The bad: TERRIBLE Reception, its all construction and repair work, but zero reduction in the value/cost of the room. Slippery bathroom tub (high risk!), terrible reception (small, slow, and careless) - they only seem to be there to say that we need to book a max of 45mins slot for the pool, no one at reception to help with luggage, no drinking water, poor quality cosmetics in the room, no brush/toothpaste (it took them 3 reminders across 2 days to get it to the room), the view is of dustbins of the building next door (if you are on lower floors), invoice not shared on mail 3 days after checkout. None of the above are good indications of a 5 star property! The Goods: Good breakfast, large room, clean upholstery, clean bathroom, good lifts

Poor experience
Poor experience, hotel dated, poor service and no outdooor space. Only plus was central location. My husband and I stayed at the hotel in May 2025. The hotel was covered in scaffolding, no one to assist with bags upon arrival. Impression hotel staff all demotivated and we were just another guest. The gym and pool facilities underground, dated and had to walk through offices/ desks in order to get to the basement. Really not at 5 star standard. Breakfast was basic and had to wait 10 minutes for egg chef to arrive. Coffee all from machines which were terrible. Room was clean but light in wardrobe didn’t work and all looked dated. It was a hot weekend so we asked concierge to assist with finding a pool that would offer a day pass. Limited assistance and lack lustre customer service. Our experience was extremely poor and is not worth the price of the rooms. Much better options in Madrid. Will not visit this hotel again.

Perfectly luxurious hotel in central Madrid
I took the cue from another reviewer to book a room with Level access, and THIS. IS. THE. MOVE. Personalized check-in with a great concierge, additional food & beverage offerings for breakfast & tapas, as well as comfortable spaces to sit and relax, read a book, play a game, or just scroll on your phone. My room was incredible, and was exactly like the picture of the tub with an gorgeous view of Madrid I saw on this site. The building is undergoing some renovation, and the dropoff confused my Uber driver, but there was zero disturbance from this activity during my stay. I had only one evening here, but made the most of it with a leisurely stroll through some of Madrid's most famous landmarks - the Royal Palace, the Plaza Espana, Plaza Mayor, and Puerta del Sol were all within a 20 minute walk and a fantastic way to enjoy the last of a long day of sunshine. Would absolutely go back to enjoy this hotel more on a return trip to Madrid.

30th Anniversary
We booked this hotel as part of a Costco three country stop for our 30th Anniversary. This was stop one and we were not disappointed. The staff was very nice, the rooms were very comfortable and the scenery was amazing from our room. If you have the choice, get your breakfast included and eat, you will not regret it as the food is incredible. We were within walking distance to several sights and plenty of Ubers. We will return here for sure.
