    Great location for our conference

Considering it was off peak, the place was still busy….possibly with other conferences taking place A modern hotel, that’s probably the largest on the beachfront, if not the whole of Torremolinos Staff were all friendly and efficient Nuria on the front desk was a great first person greeter, as an example Room I had was spacious with a balcony view of the sea Although I was surprised to find ants in my room….on the 6th floor Sufficient amenities in the room, although there was a foul stench that would come from the bathroom (even before I used it) and the power went out on one of the days Breakfast spread is decent and food was OK The lunch and dinner selections were impressive though, with plenty of seafood options Conference rooms weren’t the largest, but served their purpose and the Sky and Sea bar was well frequented Although I didn’t get to use the swimming pools, I was surprised how small they were, for a hotel of its size

    Just cannot fault this hotel.

Our group of 6 friends have just returned a 4 day break. We had full board. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms were spotless, comfy beds and tastefully decorated. We had a buffet breakfast, 3 course lunch and then buffet dinner. The food was delicious, with plenty of choice for every taste. The rooftop bar and Dj were amazing. Excellent location, short transfer, across from the beach, with a lovely flat promenade. Tiny criticism, more coat hangers please! I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very expensive 4*+ hotel but the food was only 1* I’m afraid. We booked full board but after a poor lunch on day 1 …..

We booked full board for 5 persons for 6 nights but very soon realised we’d made a big mistake as the standard of food was very poor. We arrived late on the first night so they left platters of food in out room however everything was contaminated with the smell of cold fish. As were the rooms so I we had to removed the plates and sleep with the doors open that night. The breakfast wasn’t too bad except for the cooked meat options like the sausage or bacon which were inedible. The lunch was the worst food I’ve ever tried to eat. It was table service rather than the normal buffet style and there were very few people eating so that looked suspicious. The starter and desert were okay but the meat (recurring theme) was clearly the previous nights dinners offcuts. Fatty, tough cold pork. Horrible. On top of that the whole debacle took about 90 minutes. I’ve sat through more enjoyable funerals. I went straight to reception to complain and amend our booking from full board to half board and they offered to credit our account with the cash equivalent to spend but not the cash. Not ideal but at least it meant we didn’t need to face another lunch. Dinner unfortunately wasn’t much better than lunch for main course meat options. I think I can remember 2 of the 6 nights where the meat was edible. Chicken curry but no rice and turkey. Most of the mixed salads has some form of sea food laced through them which ruled it out for most of us but if you like fish it might be fine. Staff were very focussed on billing you as soon as you had ordered otherwise they were mostly out of sight. Some of the evening entertainment was reasonable too. Nice hotel but my compliments here go to the architects and builders rather than the owners. Staff were attentive enough

Great place to sit back and relax!

Love this hotel! Melia Costa del Sol has it all. We loved the rooftop bar and pool, along with the pool on the first level facing the beach. The beach across the street has the most beautiful sand and sunrises. The Hotel offered entertainment every night. The front desk staff is extremely helpful.

Excellent location, but the walk into town !

Arrived here having booked direct with Melia (having stayed in Sitges with Melia in August) we were not disappointed even arriving at 2am due to a late & delayed Ryanair Flight from the UK, I had already emailed the hotel to advise of a very late arrival which turned into a 2am arrival but was greeted at reception and checked in as quick as possible. As expected the room was spotless, the bathroom one of the bigger ones encounter in a hotel thankfully, and excellent amenities from Rituals. (use them at home and saves a bit of space not having to carry any shampoo etc) The view from the room in the morning overlooking the sea was impressive, just far enough to get a almost full sea view being on the right side looking out to sea (not the reception block) the sound of the waves echo between the towers and is very soothing but even with the road between the hotel and sea - I would not class it as noisy at all. In fact its probably one of the quietest rooms Ive ever been in, not doors slammed or other guests noise so very welcome. Overall the room was clean tidy, wardrobe space could be bigger as only 1 draw and the safe as mentioned on previous reviews is almost on the floor (but free to use) to get to the balcony was probably the only issue that needs changing as there is a table, sofa and a chair over by the window - for a room for 2 people I don't think you need a chair in there & a sofa as it just makes it feel smaller that it actually is. The lifts are small to say the least - 5 people max it says but add luggage and your looking at 2 people only, so makes it a bit of a wait if everyone is going to/from breakfast and your checking out at the same time. Breakfast was excellent - plenty of choice, if busy you are shown to free tables by the numerous staff who are on the ball, with coffee and clearing tables, during our stay it got busy but I wouldn't say it was full, so maybe if the hotel was full it would be a bit different, but the choice of food, hot cold, juice, pastries, hams cheese - you would have to be very fussy not to find some thing there ( I did also notice a section for gluten free items separate from the main selection so good to know if that is required) No issues with the breakfast at all, especially the glass of Cava for my birthday (even thou it was available every day) As I booked B&B only I cannot comment on lunch or dinner in the actual hotel but did eat in The Beach at Meliá Costa del Sol opposite so can review separately. We did not expect entrainment at night, but every night in the central bar/lounge there was something on, it got busy and on some nights there are not enough chairs with people standing in the corridor (maybe a few sofas could go there) started at 9:30 and usually on for 1hr - 1.5hrs, welcomed break at the end of the day and again the bar staff waiting on you were kept busy and the drinks I consider good value for a hotel bar, and again the staff excellent throughout. The pool top & bar on the reception block (not the Level I did not upgrade) looked good but only went up there for a look and photo as the entrainment was downstairs, was not there fri/sat when DJ was on up on top (note to self to book a weekend stay next time) On check out it was a very late flight home, but I could not extend the room as a Gold Member, was offered the option of a shower room but had to book a time slot and only 3:30pm was left - at which point I would be out and so I refused it, but glad to know there was a option, luggage stored for us until our return at 6pm and taxi booked back to the Airport. Overall not disappointed choosing Melia for another holiday this year (they are so close to becoming my top brand for holiday stays because they get so much right) The only small negative of this hotel is strangely the location (which is also its selling point) for 1 reason which the hotel has no control over - the lift just behind the hotel into the town centre is €1 which has to be paid by card (NO CASH!) strange. Other than that its a good climb into the town, personally I'd avoid the stairs to the right of the hotel as you walk out of reception, and go up the road on the left by the car park (it seems less steep and slightly easier, or the next road up past the El Dorado restaurant again less steep) But on the opposite side is the fact your are beachfront in a quiet location and walking along the front is flat all the way to Benalmadena and the whole of Torremolinos. The train line goes from Malaga to Fuengirola for easy access very resonable prices and roughly every 15-20 minutes . Hopefully will be back soon
