Our group of 8 just returned from a week at this resort and would never go back. We came based on a raving recommendation from a friend who visited when the resort first opened. Clearly it has gone downhill. The resort itself is beautiful, however poorly designed with restaurants and entertainment spread far apart from each other. It is also not all on the same level so you're constantly having to go up/down to get from lobby to pool to restaurants to bars etc. We had 4 rooms in the adult section but each room was either missing something (iron, hairdryer, drying rack) or had an issue (remote control, fridge not working). Bedsheets also felt damp, but I suppose that's not unusual given the climate. Rooms were cleaned daily but towels were not always replaced. The Caribe is the adults only buffet but it's actually just the seating area that is adults only. The food area is shared with Atlantico buffet and I saw many children (and adults) handling food with their hands. It was disorganized and the presentation was not appetizing. We only ate there the first couple of days as we couldn't get reservations for the a la carte restaurants, which were not much better. We tried all (except El Charro) and what a letdown it was. I don't have high expectations for food at all-inclusive but this was disappointing. Most of the food was much too salty and some hot foods were served lukewarm. It's not surprising that 7/8 of us had gastro issues. We ended up doing most of our breakfasts at The Valley and some lunches at Yolo, which was relatively decent. There wasn't much to do after dinners except going to a bar. Cocktails were ok, albeit not consistent. Shows at the theatre were underwhelming. Performers seemed to lack any enthusiasm. We tried to go to the club but it wasn't open even though it was listed on the app. I would recommend some kind of central information board to list activities for the day/evening. Ping Pong paddles and pool tables were damaged. We spent most of our days at the adults only pool and that was probably the best part of our trip. It was nice except for the noisy roof construction on our last few days. Because of this we also lost access to the pool washroom. The beach was not great. Boats were anchored right in front of the beach and we could smell the fuel. We only spent one afternoon there. An incident occurred when the security guard approached and accused us of stealing other peoples' beach beds. He didn't understand that we had JUST put the towels down until a lifeguard came over to translate. There was no apology and we were left with a sour taste on our first day. The most disappointing thing was the all around lack of service from staff. Many could not speak English and were not friendly. Tipping made no difference. A smile was the exception, not the norm. Not sure if many of these reviews are fake but we met many people who felt the same way we did.

On of the best vacations
One of the best hotels I ever been to. Everything was perfect - food quality and choices, beautiful pool, clean beach,friendly smiling staff, energetic animation team (Kerry francisco big mama pinky figther), huge green wonderful area (you see daily how people take care about everything and they really do great job). The place which you want to visit again and again.
