  Excellence

Live Aqua is amazing! The property is gorgeous and the staff went above and beyond. Marlene and Raifer were attentive to us everyday. We will be back.

  10 out of 10

Everything was amazing from the exceptional service, the room, the food, even down to the aroma of the resort... Everything was a 10 out of 10! I was not expecting the personal butler service. Eric was at our Beck and call at the stroke of a text. He was amazing! We didn't have to lift a finger! The best part was we didn't feel the pressure of having to tip the employees (even though we did for some) and still received wonderful service from everyone!

  Gorgeous resort, strict two-sparkling-water policy

Let's start with the good news, because there's a lot of it: Live Aqua Punta Cana is beautiful. It's well maintained, and there's space everywhere to lie down, rest and forget about the world. If this review were only about the property, it would be a very different score. The service is where things fall apart. I don't drink beer, so I asked for one simple swap: take the beer out of the minibar and put sparkling water in its place. It never happened. I asked several times; the beer stayed exactly where it was, and the sparkling water never went past two bottles. When I tried room service, they explained the rule: two, maximum. Unlimited beer for a guest who doesn't drink it, and a strict quota on the one thing he does. Noted. Room service had a bigger problem than rationing, though. Our order went to another room, and ours simply never arrived. I'm not sure how hard it is to have a system that tells you which room is calling, but apparently it's harder than it sounds. Then the spa. I was offered a discount; when I went to use it, the spa had no idea what I was talking about and told me to go ask whoever had offered it. That pretty much sums up the stay: each department works on its own, and none of them talks to the others. The Aqua Club on the beach is supposed to be the VIP area. When we went, nobody was attending it. Very exclusive, if you think about it: not even the staff got in. At Seishin, the Asian restaurant, our server didn't seem to want to be there, and our entire order came out twice. At least it was the one place on the property where we got more than two of something. And the wake-up service is excellent, even if nobody asked for it. I specifically requested that the vacation club stop calling me. They called every day, and every day they were my alarm clock. To be fair: the grounds, the maintenance and the spaces to relax are genuinely great, and that's why this isn't lower. The problem isn't the hotel. It's the coordination. Come for the resort. Bring your own sparkling water. And maybe unplug the phone.

  Perfect Getaway

It was an awesome experience. The service is excellent, the staff is amazing, always checking on your needs, taking care of everything. You really feel the whole environment relaxing. The food was great, buffet and restaurants. The room is clean, they keep pampering you from the beginning to the end. Thanks Yulissa and Teyra in the spa, Tony and the entertainment coordinator!

eautiful suite and exceptional staff, with room for improvement

Our first visit to Live Aqua Punta Cana was a six-night stay in a beachfront Tierra Suite with a private pool in Building 8. We loved the peaceful location, spacious deck, private transfers, and wonderful spa perks. The bathroom felt too open, and there weren’t enough hooks or hanging spaces for towels and swimsuits. The standout was Angelo at the beach—the most attentive employee we’ve ever encountered. He remembered our preferences, checked in regularly, and anticipated what we needed. Live Aqua is lucky to have him! Ebony at the buffet was also incredibly warm and thoughtful. Reynaldo our butler was also attentive whenever we reached out. Our biggest drawbacks were limited dining choices, at least two dinner restaurants closed each night, and unavailable drink ingredients and desserts. The suite’s liquor selection was disappointing. Although Jeffrey was great , the lengthy, timeshare-style rewards presentation felt pushy, especially after we stated our 30-minute limit. Overall, 6.5–7/10. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and outstanding staff, but felt Excellence Punta Cana offered better variety and value for a comparable suite.
