    Friendly atmosphere in a big name hotel

    Great location, walking distance to Vatican and most of the must see sites in Rome but in a quiet neighborhood. Service was excellent since we stepped in.

    Anniversary off to bad start

    Not a good experience. We tried using a suite night upgrade for our 17th anniversary that was rejected even though I checked and there were multiple suites available that night for purchase. The hotel asked if there was anything they should know for the stay online and I mentioned our anniversary. Not even a happy anniversary no card no nothing. Instead when we arrived we were promptly charged extra because there were two of us apparently I only selected one guest who does this? Then I get to our room and it’s two double beds! After complaining and the hotel complaining back they finally get us into the room we ordered. Sorry but this is not how you treat guests esp platinum elite. Never will stay with you again.

    For convenience and 4-star service, look elsewhere.

    Too many inconveniences for a four star hotel: 1) thermostat centrally controlled and had to call the front desk multiple times to unlock the temperature setting; 2) mini-bar does not get restocked; 3) drinking water is not replaced daily - you have to refill your empty bottles at a refilling station (they don’t tell you this) 4) no ability to connect to TV, use streaming services or watch anything in English other than CNN International. Disappointing, especially for a Marriott

    Quick Overnight for Rome Sightseeing

    We stayed at the Le Meridian August 20, 2025 as our first stop on our Italy trip. For location this hotel is great as it is right next to all the local transportation for trains/buses which are very easy to sue (very similar to NY’s but cleaner). The hotel from the exterior looks a little ragged but the interior was very nice and clean with a nice bar area and a spacious, open buffet breakfast. Compared to the other breakfast packages we have gotten from Marriott in Europe I would say this was OK, we would have enjoyed an omelette bar or something more substantial. For the amount of time we actually spent in the hotel this was great for a quick rest, shower and back to sight seeing. Note these rooms are also very small. *BE AWARE of pick pocketers in this area, they are all over!
