    One week is not enough!

We LOVED our one week stay at Maya suites. This resort is absolutely stunning and the staff are so helpful and friendly everywhere you go. special shout out to lovely Alejandra at the Lindo pool who served us drinks every day and the animation team at the Maya /Lindo pool. Our nine-year-old twins had so much to do every day: waterslides, wave pool, pirate ship waterpark park, body surfing in the ocean waves, fries at the beach, ice cream by the pool, smoothies at the swim up waterfall bar, playground at the shopping Centre after crepes with ice cream…these kids lived their best life and so did the adults! Can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful resort made more beautiful by the amazing staff!

We stayed at Iberostar Selection Paraíso Maya Suites as a family of 11 for a week in early Jan.2026. We have 9 adults a 3yr old and a 1yr old. We had two of the family suites that connected so basically we had four rooms. The very first thing I want to say about this resort is that the staff and employees make this place!! Our entire family agreed that not one of us came across one single member of staff that wasn’t exemplary!! They are just amazing!! From the restaurant staff, bar staff, housekeeping, anyone writing in the shops, everyone was friendly and helpful in every way they could be!! The resort is beautiful! Rooms were big and kept very clean every day! We weren’t in the tons very much but there were clean and perfect. Pools were all clean and we checked them all out! They do keep the pools a bit cool but you get use to it very fast! They are all clean and have activities going on. We spent lots of time in the main pool and the kids play area outside building 65/66. You could almost always find pool chairs you just have to look around! The beach area is beautiful and kept very clean. They were constantly cleaning the beach. The water was clear and warm. Even when it looked busy you could find a chair or two. The food here was nothing to write home about but you will NOT be hungry! Do not try to use the app for reservations for large groups. We went concierge and got every reservation we wanted. We ate at the Japanese, the steakhouse, the Italian, the Bistro and another French restaurant that I can’t remember the name of I’m sorry. We ate the buffet for breakfast each morning. We did not have a bad meal. The service at these restaurants is so amazing!! I cannot express this enough!! There is a lunch buffet by the pool that some of us ate at in occasion. Also very good! I recommend the Japanese and the steakhouse the most but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed anywhere you go! The only company or con I would say any of our group had about our entire stay would be the app and the map. This resort can be slightly confusing and the map on the app is of no help! 😂 I do think they need to overhaul their website because I had other issues with the site as well. Like the restaurant reservations. The room choice before you arrive. So I think my only complain would be the website. This place is great for families. We had mostly 20-30 yr olds in our group. A couple of 50 yr olds and then the kids. Everyone had a great time. Many enjoyed snorkeling and the spa. Some went on excursion’s. The guys enjoyed a day of golf and lived the course. It was spendy though. Some cuts to stay and enjoy this beautiful resort.

    Amazing pampered vacation

An overall great experience, everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and pampered. Our server at the pool Irma Bautista Lozano was very attentive to our needs. Mario at the members bar made sure we were never left wanting. Our room was immaculate daily.

Excellent stay for families, highly recommend

Went as a family of 4 with two elementary aged kids. Non-drinkers/partiers; mainly focused on kid-friendly activities, exercising, and relaxing. I read a ton of reviews on this site before choosing this hotel so I'd like to contribute my own review now! tl;dr - glad we picked this hotel, it was a fun and relaxing trip with no major problems. - Buffet food was very good with plenty of variety and options - Concierge was super helpful when we had requests (we requested blankets so one of our kids could sleep on the couch & they took it 1 step further & provided a full extra trundle bed) - Beach was nice and well maintained. Liked that there was a bar, food station, and bathrooms right there - Nothing felt overly crowded. Busy and lively but not crowded - Check in/out was simple - Lots of activities for all ages - Gym was large and had plenty of machines as well as additional studios & free weights upstairs - Also lots of tennis courts and pickle ball. We had no issue booking a court, plenty of free space - Grounds were well kept and lovely - Appreciated all the drink stations with various juices and water with fruit in them to add a bit of flavour - Coffee shop was open 24/7 and had nice ambiance - Nightly entertainment was pretty top notch! - There was a live band playing covers of popular songs at the pool on Friday and they were really awesome & talented. - You could wander to the lindo & del mar sides. Lindo was also very nice. Del mar was more sprawling but there's parrots and flamingos to check out if you head that direction - Generally large grounds which was nice, enough room to go for a long walk. - Star camp seemed cool but our kids were not fans unfortunately; they went for a few hours one day and declared "never again". Other kids seemed to like it. - This is our fourth time visiting Mexico. We have done a different resort every time. This has been the best experience for us. - Note: my husband got major stomach issues the last 2 Mexico trips. He was in camp "never again" before I convinced him to do this trip. Happy to report no stomach issues at the Paraiso Maya for him, so if you are paranoid about this like he was, hopefully this is encouraging for you to book this place. (He was extra careful and didn't eat any fresh veggies/fruit the whole trip but he thinks this was probably not necessary in retrospect) Small things I noticed that were less-good but not deal breakers/were just a passing "hm this could have been better" thoughts. - Someone else's hair on our room's shower wall when we first arrived = cleaner missed it? Not a big deal but if you're a stickler for cleanliness maybe you would notice and care a lot. - At the breakfast buffet they had pre-made options for omlettes etc but they were often a bit cold. They also had folks making fresh omlettes & pancakes to order so if you want something hot I'd recommend that. There was rarely any line for this either! - Some of the people who worked there seemed pretty "blah" about their job haha. They were always polite but you could see they were also a bit over it all. We tried to be nice & tip etc and again this wasn't a big deal. I'm sure it's a very hard job as well. But if you are a stickler for perfect service and having people fake it until they make it maybe it would bother you. - Coatis are a bit annoying sometimes, although it's something I expected from reading reviews ahead of time. I saw one jump on a guy and steal food right out of his hand. They were also frequently inside the garbage cans so i was a bit wary when using the cans in case one jumped out at me (never happened phew). I'd just say to be aware when you have food and they are around. Don't leave food unattended. They are cute though and fun for the kids.
