Second visit and will return
Very nice hotel, an oasis which sits in a very busy city. It has a very calming laid back atmosphere, and is very welcoming. The rooms are lovely and a decent size, very nice bed linen and towels, the bathrooms/shower rooms are well equipped and provide toiletries. The rooms are kept very clean and tidy by the daily team of house keepers. If you get a room with a balcony they are a decent size for 2 people to sit and relax. The pool isn't large but good enough for decent swimming. There was always plenty of sunbeds at any time of day with towels freely available. There is also the most impressive gym I have ever seen in a hotel, with kit that is well maintained and good quality. There is a spa but I can't comment on that as never used it. We stayed 'room only' but did eat in the poolside restaurant for lunch twice whilst there and it was very good quality with good service. (The pork cheek risotto is delicious)! The main bar is nice and offers a wide variety of drinks, and staff are very friendly. Waiting staff who looked after us in particular were a lovely young guy called Carlos, Klaudia and Lalli. Just a couple of notes: Although there are a lot of sunbeds some are positioned under trees and could do with a wash down now and then as there are many birds around which do leave some mess. We had a light snack in the bar one evening and it was a little below what we expected - burger a little over done and the Club Sandwich bread wasn't good to eat. In summary, this is beautiful hotel and we will be returning next year.

Spectacular
This hotel was perfect. Wish we could have stayed longer. The staff is kind and helpful. The hote roomsl are so clean, comfortable and uniquely decorated. We had a room with a beautiful terrace. The pool was beautiful, large, and relaxing with plenty of space. Everything about this hotel made us feel special. The location was great for walking to food and the soccer stadium.

Brilliant hotel
We had a brilliant week at this hotel. What really stood out was the friendliness of the staff, everyone we met said hello and was happy to humour me practicing my rusty Spanish. The staff at the Iballa bar were particularly warm. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of options. The pool area was lovely and we never struggled for a lounger. We used the gym a few times - the space isn't particularly efficiently used, with machines taking up all available space that isn't needed for moving around, but it had a good range of equipment for a hotel gym. The room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom was a bit dated but plenty of space. Our only complaint is about the bathrobes provided - they are tiny! We are both athletically built but not particularly large and the bathrobes didn't fit either of us comfortably.

Lovely Hotel
A lovely, large, stylish hotel - I would describe it as relaxing. Tasteful rooms, lovely pool area and spa. The gym looked good too (not that we went sadly!) It was worth the extra money for a garden view room. It seemed quiet when we stayed at the beginning of September so at times it felt like it lacked a bit of atmosphere. A little background music around the pool and bar area might have helped with that as it was almost a little too quiet. Lovely professional staff - especially Carlos from the pool bar who went out of his way to make everyone happy - and also Carlos and Laili in the bar. Reception staff were generally helpful apart from one lady who made us feel like we had done something wrong when there was a problem with our booking (the travel company's mistake and not ours). Breakfast was fresh and delicious - so many varied options - it was hard not to have at least three courses! It's about ten minutes walk into the heart of Santa Cruz. It's worth noting that it's not a resort hotel - it's more of a city break hotel, but there is a nice beach which is easily accessible by bus or taxi. All in all I would definitely recommend.

The perfect Holiday
We have just returned from a magical week in this hotel. Everything from check in to check out was perfect. Some reviews on here are critical of the star rating, but having stayed in many hotels around the world in my opinion the Iberostar Heritage fully deserves its five star rating and every day during our visit it lived up to its five stars. The staff are a credit to the hotel and from the warm welcome at check in to the moment we left there was never a member of staff pass us without a smile and a hello. The hotel is immaculate. From the marble tiled reception area to the rooms to the beautiful gardens and peaceful pool area everything is perfect. The breakfast buffet is extensive and the food in the cocktail bar is great. The rooms are large with everything we needed and serviced daily to a high standard. The location was again for us perfect for us, right next to an amazing public park, a lovely area with a snack bar and restaurant, a bus stop outside the hotel into the centre of Santa Cruz. Several restaurants close by as well. Thank you everyone at the Iberostar Heritage for providing us with the perfect holiday experience
