    Nice tropical stay

Overall a very nice stay. The staff was very helpful at all aspects. The room was clean and well set up. Snacks and beverages were refilled without needing to request. Food at the restaurants was fine to good, but never had any issues. I was always able to find a chair regardless of the time of the day. I would return and recommend.

    Below Hyatt Standards Overall

We stayed here to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and honestly, the experience was more frustrating than enjoyable. Check-in was smooth since we’re Hyatt members, but that’s where the good part pretty much ended. We booked an ocean view room and got one facing the kids pool and construction, with barely any ocean visible. It felt misleading and very disappointing, especially for a special occasion. It took almost 4 hours of calls and back-and-forth with staff to finally get a better room. By then we were already tired and annoyed. To make it worse, our luggage showed up 2 hours later, and I had to keep calling to follow up. Food was just okay, and definitely not what you’d expect from a Hyatt. We’ve been to many Ziva and Zilara resorts, and this one had the worst breakfast buffet by far — limited options and low quality. Indian restaurant food was good, but service was painfully slow. Coffee bar was average, and the staff there was surprisingly rude when I politely mentioned the espresso tasted stale (I drink espresso daily, so I wasn’t just guessing). Bars were also frustrating since many bartenders struggled to understand basic drink requests. The one bright spot was the steakhouse. Even as vegetarians, we loved the food there. Huge thanks to Greece and Esteban — they were amazing and really tried to make our night special. Location is nothing special, and the property lacks attention to detail. Things like open balconies for families with infants just don’t feel well planned. Overall, this ended up being our least favorite Hyatt stay ever. It didn’t feel like an elite property at all, and we wouldn’t come back. If you love Hyatt properties, e wouldn't recommend staying here.

    Excellent resort for families

Our stay at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos was fantastic, and Ricardo (“Rick”), our personal assistant, made it truly exceptional. He was warm, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful from start to finish. Ricardo anticipated our needs, checked in at just the right moments, and made traveling as a family feel completely effortless. What really stood out was how personal the service felt — we never felt like just another room number. Ricardo is a huge asset to the resort and a big reason we’d return. Thank you, Ricardo — hope to see you again soon!

    Caution

The pool manager was by far the most helpful and supportive customer care there! The spa was amazing in the fitness center as well worth it. Concierge and reservation department are horrible to work with.

Hyatt Ziva needs improvements to keep the Hyatt Brand name.

I tried Hyatt Ziva expecting that it was going to be significantly better than Riu and Grand Fiesta. It was not. Overall, Grand Fiesta was still better in everything. Hyatt Ziva food is slightly better than Riu. Being a World of Hyatt member and going to Hyatt Ziva does not feel special as compared to non members. The award for being a member was being acknowledged that I am a member at check in.
