Wonderful experience in the heart of Waikiki.

The HR Waikiki us located int the heart of the beach district across the street from the famous statue of Duke. Great service, wonderful valet staff and a view of the Pacific that could not be topped. We were located in the Diomondhead tower on the 23rd floor with an ocean view Jr Suite. Highly recommended. Cebtealky located with tons of restaurants and shopping nearby.

    Not a place to sleep

This hotel is an absolutely not if you have any plans on sleeping. There is an extremely loud band until around 11pm, every night. when they are done it’s still very loud the rooms around you and the street noise is non stop. I promise I am not exaggerating they are extremely loud, the walls must be made of paper. I asked to be moved and the desk seemed annoyed and said every room is loud. We decided to pay for an another hotel mid stay for a night because we desperately needed sleep. I’m not old I’ve stayed in many hotels in loud areas, this one has zero sound proofing. Also the parking cost 83$ a day, they tried to charge 50$ for pool towels that I did return. The towel fee was easily waived but it was annoying to have to go ask. The shower on the room flooded the bathroom everytime it was used, we tried to seal it with towels but that didn’t really work.the beds are also very hard and thin. Location is great if all your plans are in Waikīkī.

I think they were well aware, and just dont care.

Construction Starts at 4:30 am. And front desk could care less. Doesnt feel like the front desk cares. I will have a longer review on Google.

Hotel from year 1976 with dusty AC vent

Checked in as Globalist but not being recognized and offer any suite upgrade or best available room category. Check in staff said ‘NO’ to everything. She didn’t inform me if there was any amenities but just give me the info card, didn’t tell me where the breakfast is and operator hour. Very unprofessional lack of training with limit knowledge of this property and world of Hyatt program. Property - built in 1976 and partially cosmetics updated or patching in some area since/in 2015. Accessibility - Old and not function layout entrance as you need to walk with your luggage take elevator to second floor lobby then lineup for check in. You need to store your luggage back to where you get off downstairs (valet location) If your room is not ready. They offered me wait in the lounge instead. That mean you need to walk all the way back with your luggage downstairs. This hotel consist of two buildings (Ewa and diamond building. Each has 4 elevators but average wait time 10 minutes one way. Very slow and inconvenience. Hallway - dark, uninviting and dated. You can hear everything. Room - first you can smell the ages of property and the carpet remain from year 1976 because it’s thin, popped and tired.Room I dark and depressed. Ceiling with paint patch with previous water damaged. Misreading and wrong advertisement. Room category - there are two rooms directly facing to the ocean front with unobstructed ocean and beach view. That’s room 09 & 10 at EWA Tower and room 59 & 60. However, the room next door 06, 07 & 08, 11, 12 & 13. They also categorized ocean front. That’s totally misleading because these rooms are not directly ocean front. The room is located on the side of building and balcony is facing 45 degree to the ocean beach view and the rest is city view. Bathroom - very little bathroom. vanity and faucet are partially updated. Low shallow bathtub was from year 1976. Ceiling fan is very dirty and full of dust: AC - big problem potential cause health issue. AC vent is extremely dirty and dusty. Filter is full of dust and should be replaced. Bathroom ceiling vent is blocked with dust. I will never return to this property. Photos attached.

    Gets the job done

Basic hotel Regency. Hotel Feels dated and needs updating. Globalist benefits were minimal, valet at $80 Per day is overpriced. I have stayed at many Waikīkī hotels and as a Hyatt Globalist would stay at a Bonvoy property next time.
