Very comfortable stay in a wonderful hotel with excellent service.
I stayed overnight at the Hyatt Regency on Tuesday 21st October. I work at the University of Manchester. On arrival I was welcomed into the hotel at around 3:30pm by two lovely staff members and check in was super speedy. A standard room was not free on the evening I needed so I had to book one of the hotels club suites (I stayed in room 1101 on the 11th floor). A club suite does have certain wonderful perks such as robes, slippers, water, Nespresso machine (as well as a kettle for tea) AND complimentary drinks and canapés in the graduate bar- which are lush! You can have beer, wine, spirits and prosecco. The staff that work this area are super attentive and can’t do enough for you. I hope they don’t mind me saying this on the review, but it has a bottomless brunch/snack feel :) The bed is one of these most comfortable I’ve slept in, it’s super dark (which I love) and very clean. Breakfast is served from 6:30am. You can get a full English breakfast (bacon, sausage, eggs, the works), cereal, toast, pastries, fruit, yogurt, meats and cheese, all the juices, tea and coffee- probably much more. For those that aren’t staying for work and more of a holiday/vacation it’s very close to the city centre. Plenty of Ubers and buses that run all night. I haven’t had lunch or dinner there, but the menu looks very tasty. All in all, an excellent stay and a hotel that is very comfortable with fabulous service. A few extras are highly speedy WIFI, in room service and laundry. Bathroom in the club suite had a bath as well as shower- all gels, shampoo and conditioner in room.

We had the most amazing experience during our 2-night, 3-day stay at this hotel. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from a nearby car park with reasonable rates. The location is perfect for visiting Manchester University and the city centre. We were greeted by polite and friendly staff, and our room was exceptionally clean and finished to a high standard. The city view was beautiful, and the shower room was large and stunning. All the toiletries smelled lovely and felt high quality. The coffee provided was excellent and refilled daily. The fridge was very quiet, and there were plenty of electric and USB sockets. Even the slippers were of good quality. The mattress and pillows were super comfortable. The restaurant had a calm and well-designed atmosphere, where we enjoyed breakfast and happy hour. Drinks and canapés during happy hour were completely free, and I had a lovely cocktail. Breakfast offered a wide selection of high-quality food and beverages. A helpful notice board showed quiet, medium, and peak times, which made planning easier. Soft drinks, tea, and coffee were available free of charge all day.

I had a friendly check in, the room was clean and safe. I arrived early and they allowed me to store my bag so I could go away and do some work before returning to check in later. Very pleased overall.

Oct 14, 2025Strange location. Basic Hyatt Regency.
I stayed here as I had an appointment in the city centre. It’s a very strange location for a flagship Hyatt Regency property. I get it’s by the University but other than that it’s hard to call this central or City Centre and it’s a fair walk in to Manchester. The parking is the uni car park, there are zero benefits for parking there and staying at the hotel and it’s pricey. There’s nothing around this property at all except the university and some chicken shops. The regency club lounge here has closed, another victim of the pandemic and the race to the bottom for the guest experience - globalists are offered snacks and drinks in the bar in what is a confusing and muddled experience. Breakfast was good and the service very friendly. The room was basic. That’s all I can say really. No character, no charm, filthy windows covering up the view of the city and nothing special to shout about. The TV didn’t really work and the WiFi was slow. This was just ok. There’s so many amazing option in Manchester if you’re looking for a nice nights stay with stuff to do around the hotel. This is not the one.
