Dec 09, 2025Nice Hotel, shame about the bar service
I received an email from Hyatt asking me about my stay and I filled it in very honestly and at the end, it gave me the option to write a trip advisor rating. I thought this was strange, as I personally would have wanted to talk to a disgruntalled customer before offering them a chance to make it public. However, it seems that I am unable to find the rating that I gave on Trip Advisor through their system, so I am now writing it myself, as I still haven't heard back from the hotel. It sort of went like this. We were staying at the Hotel due to my Daughter's 21st Birthday and she chose the hotel as it was near Brindley Place and had great views of the city. Expectations of the Hotel were quite high as is it not the cheapest and it is a 4* hotel in the center of a city. Checkin was fine, checkin staff were fine and the rooms were fine and cleant and breakfast was fine, albeit expensive. All was as expected and due to it's height it was very quiet. The problem was with the Bar Service. My Daughter and her boyfriend were ready first and came down for a drink. The bar staff were chatting and after a minute or so a gentleman walked up to the bar and the staff offered to serve him. They waited patiently whilst he served them and then another gentleman walked up to the bar and they were served first too. My daughter then commented and was served next. After mentioning it to me, I was going up to the bar to discuss this with the bar staff. The same thing happened to me and someone else was served first, who arrived after me. I did at this point speak up and make a bit of a scene. So my review is "Drink somewhere else". We went to the bar in another "large" 4* hotel in the center of Birmingham and we were treated like royalty and the atmosphere was very relaxed, even though we were not staying there. Such a difference, if we are every staying in Birmingham again we will stay here and is was closer to Colmore row.

Dec 08, 2025A great hotel in central Birmingham
We visited Birmingham this weekend to see Peter Kay and we chose this hotel for its close location to the arena. We requested a high floor room and were assigned a room on the 21st floor. Although the city was very busy, we had no problem with the noise. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The reception team was welcoming, professional and helpful. We enjoyed a lovely lunch in the restaurant on the day we arrived and had drinks in the bar oh both evenings. All of the staff were very friendly and professional. Breakfast was included and on both mornings of our stay the hot food buffet was very good and regularly refreshed. We also sampled room service after the show on Saturday evening and the food was promptly delivered. All in all we were very pleased with hotel and would definitely recommend it.

Lovely hotel
Rooms, spa and reception area were fantastic, but the food at the restaurant was a bit disappointing. Good location and breakfast was better.

Highly Recommend
Great location and very nice hotel environment. All facilities and the room itself are modern and well maintained. Would recommend to anyone requiring a stay in Birmingham.
