For the those considering Hotel Xcaret Mexico for their Cancun destination, here are a few things to keep in mind. Hotel just went through an expansion and is very unorganized. Do not expect a five star resort experience as basic amenities like water, and cribs, and just overall customer service are apparently non existent here. It is impossible to speak to a manager, you have to go through at least 5 different tiers of staff to get anything resolved which will eat up your time at the resort. Resort has great activities etc but the service is just not there. Staff seem tired, overworked, and simply annoyed. It has by far been our worst experience in Cancun. If you want a peaceful smooth vacation at a beautiful resort with exceptional service I would recommend staying in the Mayakoba area, not in what seems to be a luxury resort but ends up being a sub par hotel.

Hotel Xcaret México is one of the most unique and thoughtfully designed resorts I’ve stayed at. The property blends natural beauty with luxury — rivers, caves, lush greenery, and beautifully crafted architecture create an unreal atmosphere. The All-Fun Inclusive experience is the biggest highlight. Unlimited access to all Xcaret parks (Xplor, Xenses, Xel-Ha, Xenotes and more) plus transportation made the trip seamless and super value for money. The rooms are spacious, modern, and very comfortable, and the balcony views are breathtaking. Staff is extremely warm, proactive, and genuinely helpful. Food quality across restaurants is impressive — great variety with vegetarian options too. The resort is huge, so moving around takes time, but the beauty and activities make up for it. Perfect for couples, families, and anyone who loves adventure. Highly recommended!

Everything about this place was 10/10. The hotel, the food, the parks amazing! The staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurants were excellent. The two parks we visited were so much fun. Just wish we had more time to spend. 4 days 5 nights isn't nearly enough to experience all Xcaret has to offer.

BEWARE of the airport Xcaret timeshare presentation SCAM and RUN the other way. Xcaret gives Mexico a bad name. The fact that Mexico tourism partners with these scammers makes me never want to come back to Mexico again. We were enticed at the airport to attend a 90min presentation in exchange for a round trip to Cozumel, plus a discounted tour. Checking out the resort seemed harmless enough. The 90 minutes turned into a full day ordeal and felt like a hostage situation. The high-pressure tactics, manipulation and outright lies were off the charts. What started as USD$22K for a 10-year commitment *plus $146 and another $209 annually to take advantage of international travel discounts* was brought down to USD$13K (plus annual fees) for the “privilege” of accessing member prices to the resort. They will sell you on lies that only come to light if you’re paying close attention to the fine print, after they’ve taken your pre-authorized payment and plied you with champagne. I’m not sure if at this point others proceed with signing because they’re too tired and inattentive, feel obligated or need to walk away with something for the time spent, or are just desperate to get out of that cold office and back to their vacation, but the horror stories from unsuspecting tourists speak for themselves. It’s sad that they need to resort to scamming people to get a return on their multi-billion dollar investment. Even if we wanted to return, we would never support Xcaret and will probably avoid Mexico altogether. After wasting almost a full day, the sales team scurried off like roaches, leaving us to figure out a way back down from the hilltop office to the main reception some kilometres away. We had to ask them for the promised taxi voucher to get back to our resort. Bottom line: stay the hell away. No free perks are worth the time and frustration. And their Chichen tour will waste more of your precious time. What was supposed to be a 2-hour drive to the site, turned into 5 hours—2 full hours just picking up guests from different resorts for other tours and shuttling them to a central transfer point.
