Stayed at the Deansgate Hotel to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. When making the booking, I opted for all available upgrades, including the room upgrade, breakfast, and three-course evening meal. Based on the information available online and our experience on arrival, it was not made clear that the three-course meal was limited to a £25 per person allowance. I was only informed about this when calling to query why a further payment had been taken from my account and was asked to write an email. I had wrote the email as requested on the 22nd December, its now the 3rd January and still no response! During our evening meal, we ordered one starter, one main course, and one drink each. At no point when being seated, during the meal, at the time of ordering, or when we paid for our alcoholic drinks at the bar on departure, were we informed that additional charges would apply to the food, or that the three-course meal was subject to a monetary cap. Had this been explained, we would have made a more informed decision and may have chosen to book elsewhere. In addition, despite the meal being advertised as a three-course dinner, we were never offered a dessert, nor was this mentioned or explained to us at any stage during the meal. After leaving Manchester, I noticed that my card had been charged for the full cost of the meal. When I rang to query this, I was told for the first time that the three-course meal was limited to £25 per person. This was extremely disappointing, as this information was neither clearly stated at the time of booking nor communicated to us during our stay. Furthermore, the amount charged appears to be incorrect. The bill includes: • The full cost of the meal, with no £25 per person allowance deducted, and • Charges for drinks that we had already paid for at the bar. I am unhappy that no one raised these charges with us during our stay and that the full amount was instead applied to my card without explanation after we had left. I would also welcome clarification on how the three-course meal upgrade is advertised and communicated to guests, as this experience fell short of expectations.

We had a really enjoyable stay at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate and would happily return. The hotel’s location is superb — right in the heart of the city, within easy walking distance of bars, restaurants and shopping, yet still felt calm and comfortable once inside. The building itself is iconic and the views from the upper floors are a real highlight. Our room was clean, modern and well-maintained, with a very comfortable bed and excellent bathroom facilities. Everything was exactly as you’d expect from a Hilton at this level. What really stood out was the service. The staff were friendly, professional and genuinely keen to help. Any queries we had were dealt with promptly and politely, which makes a big difference to the overall experience. Breakfast was very good, with a wide choice and good quality food, and the general atmosphere throughout the hotel felt relaxed and welcoming. All in all, a great city-centre hotel with excellent staff and a high standard throughout. Highly recommended for anyone staying in Manchester — whether for business or leisure.

Be very very careful when ordering room service. We ordered on Saturday night and it should have been £57 but between paying and coming out of the bank they had put a £44 tip on the bill. When questioned it they had no idea how that happened and had never experienced that before. It has been reported and hopefully it will be sorted. But be very careful.

Lovely hotel, really clean and fantastic staff. Room was lovely and spacious. The pillows weren’t the best but overall a really good stay.

Extortionately priced when hosting events
Lovely hotel, staff were incredible my only negatives are, the rooms were pretty basic for the money. £381 for ONE night. I suspect it was because of an event being held there which we attended. That was extort and unnecessary given I could book for this Saturday for less than half!
