Beautiful ocean view and getaway
People were nice and welcoming but getting a restaurant reservation early is challenging. Plan on eating late! The rooms were comfortable with glass walls for the bathroom( sink area). One sink. Really nice shower. Push the little metal button on the shower to get hot water. That was fun! Ha. The view was wonderful. Listening to the waves was serenity. The bellmen were very nice and had our luggage up to our room swiftly. Being a diamond member had a few perks here. I’ve stayed at other Hilton Mexican resorts and never revived any upgrades. This time, I was acknowledged and we received a complimentary one upgrade. We loved it as we could see the ocean. Also when we went to make our dinner reservations the lady said since you are diamond and it’s your first night you het to go to the statehouse at 6:30! That was a huge gift and took the stress off of finding a place to eat. Very kind indeed! One negative - this is a family resort! Children and babies are everywhere. We did spend most of our time at the south pool as there very few children playing in the hot tub with their toys but that wasn’t anything compared to the other kids pool. If children bother you this isn’t the resort for you. Regarding the ocean, there has been damaging erosion here. The beach is limited and small. You can still enjoy it as the sand is smooth and very few rocks. The water wasn’t rough. There was a buoy line in the water as well. There are no chair or beds on the beach. Just isn’t enough room. The negative - a tractor coming and going trying to build a barrier with rocks to save their beautiful beach area. I hope they don’t lose their hotel to a storm. We stayed on the property and enjoyed every day at the south pool. Thank you Hilton for a great vacation!

Not meeting the standards of 5 star resort
We’ve been to many 5 star resorts and this is not meeting the average standard. Staff can be very rude (especially the staff in the Asian restaurant) food is average. No restaurant that’s serving food 24/7 which makes it hard meal planning with young kids. Waiting time to receive food goes above 30 min at time. Rooms are beautiful and beach is very nice.

My Stay at Hilton Cancun – A Trip That Nearly Ended My Life
I never imagined I would leave a vacation at the Hilton Cancun fighting for my life. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway turned into one of the scariest experiences I’ve ever had. Shortly after eating at one of the resort’s restaurants, I became violently ill. Later, doctors told me I had contracted a parasite — something that can happen when food is not cleaned, handled, or prepared properly. Within hours, I went from feeling perfectly normal to experiencing severe symptoms that required urgent medical attention. I was dehydrated, shaking, and so sick that I genuinely felt like I might not make it. This wasn’t a “normal” case of food poisoning — it was extreme, painful, and completely avoidable. What made the situation worse was how poorly the staff handled it. Instead of taking it seriously, documenting the issue, or offering real assistance, I felt brushed off and left to deal with a medical emergency on my own. At a resort that presents itself as luxury and safe, this response was unacceptable. I’m sharing this because guests deserve to know the risks. The property is beautiful, but proper food safety is non-negotiable, and based on my experience, it is not being taken seriously. No vacation should end in the hospital. I hope Hilton addresses this immediately — no one else should have to endure what I went through.
