    There is a reason why we love to vacation at Grand Velas properties…They are WONDERFUL and you get the BEST SERVICE! This is our 2nd visit to GVRM. I reached out to Gilberto Zavala (he was our concierge last year) prior to our trip via WhatsApp. Gilberto replied immediately and offered his assistance in scheduling dinner reservations and also help plan a birthday celebration for my husband. GVRM has a terrific concierge team! I highly recommend using their service! Jose Zavala was stellar and a team player in helping prepare birthday celebration and other special touches! Thank you Gilberto and Jose for making birthdays special! Grand Velas has the BEST employees! We were always greeted in passing. My husband’s birthday was celebrated at FRIDA restaurant, Manager Rafael and waiters Diego,Gamaleil and Asley along with Hostess Valeria made the dinner memorable, Sombrero and all! The menu was all appealing and my favorite was the Tumado (seafood risotto). The amazing buffet at AZUL…many dishes catering for guests worldwide. Attentive waiters made it easy to keep going back for seconds and thirds…LOL! Michelin Award 2024 COCINA De AUTOR…WOW! Thank you Francisco for being an excellent guide through this gastronomical journey. What an experience. Please pair these courses with wine/cocktail it makes a difference. Looking forward to a bottling of the house made Hidromiel. The cocktail menu at SKYBAR and KOI are impressive. Classic, Modern, Innovative, and Creative, always with top shelf alcohol. Sip to experience. Thank you for having Allende IPA for husband’s enjoyment- Yazmin and Michaela. We love to start the morning at AMAT coffee bar. Nespresso coffee and other beverages are offered here by the lovely baristas,Izchel, Isamar, and Gladis, along with an array of delicious pastries!! The SPA is world class! A great way to pamper yourself. Lilliana, the massage therapist, is highly recommended. SEN LIN, LUCCA, and PIAF all have delicious choices on the menu, and we always enjoy eating at these places. Slightly different options from each place than at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. So, it was neat to try. Again, all the employees/waiters were awesome! Pool service was Great! We are looking forward to another visit to Grand Velas!

    Wonderful Family Trip and Mother’s Day Weekend

    We had an amazing stay at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya/Play del Carmen. The hospitality of the whole staff was incredible, the food was delicious, the pools were great, and the resort was spotless. Our personal concierge, Carolina, went above and beyond - she made all of our dinner reservations, spa bookings, coordinated show tickets and taxi rides, and surprised us during our stay with Mother’s Day celebrations. Would highly recommend this resort, definitely high quality for an all inclusive. Only potential drawback is the private beach is a limited strip so don’t expect long walks on the beach. We were okay with this since we have a toddler and were mostly playing in the sand/shallow water, but having a long boardwalk or beach area to walk would definitely have been nice.

    Best place in Playa!

    The place is amazing ! The best service anywhere you go! Our concierge Mariana was fantastic and was at the ready for anything we needed. We had the 2 bedroom ambassador suite and it was the only way to go ! My son and his friend had the best time!! Overall everything g was exceptional and everyone was so warm and kind ! Recommend it highly

    All Inclusive On Another Level

    I had a truly exceptional stay at Grand Velas Riviera Maya. From the moment I arrived, every detail of the experience felt luxurious and thoughtfully curated. One of the true highlights of my visit was the award-winning SE Spa, which is without a doubt one of the most beautiful spas in Mexico. Built around a natural cenote, the spa offers a breathtaking and tranquil setting that feels both grounding and otherworldly. The service was impeccable—every staff member made me feel cared for and completely relaxed. The resort’s all-inclusive experience is on another level: refined, seamless, and filled with thoughtful extras that elevate every moment. A special mention must go to Cocina de Autor, the signature fine dining restaurant. The tasting menu was a true culinary journey—creative, bold, and expertly executed. It’s no wonder this restaurant is so highly regarded.

    AMAZING WEDDING!

    I'm very late writing this review but better late than never. We held our wedding there October 25th - 27th (2024). It was everything we hoped it would be. We had 40 guests, and they are still talking about the wedding, resort and the service. The service is impeccable; everyone goes out of their way to help and to cater to your every need and they think of everything to make your stay a pleasant experience. I had my own wedding planner, but I can't say enough good things about the resort wedding coordinator Fernanda. She is by far one of the main reasons the wedding was so fabulous and went so smoothly. She was attentive, accommodating, she answered all of my questions, solved any issue(s) I had and was always courteous and professional. Leading up to the wedding date, I was emailing her constantly and she responded quickly to me and to my planner. When we visited in June to finalize everything before the big day, they rolled out the red carpet for us. They had everything planned and everything was stress free. This is really a beautiful place to have your wedding, it's an all-inclusive resort and everything is top shelf. The food was excellent; the portions and presentations were on point and the drink selections were endless. The rooms are all suits and are huge with a big tub, they think of every kind of amenity for the room. We were welcomed by a bottle of sparkling wine and truffles and a chocolate picture and frame of my husband and me. The resort is a little pricey, but well worth every penny. My only advice for anyone thinking about having your wedding there, get the audio and lighting quote up front. It's set up that you basically have to use their audio lighting team, if you bring your own there are vendor fees and all kinds of fees. I don't think they work for the resort but are contracted with the resort. The bottom line is, you are stuck with whatever they charge you, and I have to say we were shocked at the price (and I live in New York City, so prices don't normally shock me). I probably would have canceled if I could have but of course I'm glad I didn't. Fernanda really helped in that situation; because of her efforts, we were able to work something out, and I am forever grateful to her. As I said in an earlier review, she is a tremendous asset to the resort (give her a promotion). In spite of the sudden rainstorm towards the end of the wedding, (see pictures) which only made the day even more special, it was an amazing experience. I am so happy we picked this resort to have our wedding. If you are thinking about visiting or having your wedding there, I highly recommend it!
