Jan 27, 2026An Honest Review of the Grand Palladium Palace Resort and Spa
Overall it was a decent experience, pools were great and so was the spa. Food was interesting and they tried to give variety where they could. No snacks anywhere, other than bringing food from the restaurant back to your room. Tried lots of the a la carte options and they were average as well. Sumptuori was a great experience and the staff was helpful and entertaining. The room was clean, very close to the beach and the whole property was nice, except for where the employees stayed it always stunk of sewage which you had to pass to get to the other parts of the property. The beach was beautiful but there were a lot of sand fleas, the whole family has bites for being on the beach and in the water. All the beds and sofa beds in the room stunk of mold/smelly feet, all 2 beds and 1 sofa bed had this, even in a different room! However it should be noted that the staff is generally unpleasant or constantly harassing you about timeshares. They expect you to know how the resort works without proper direction or understand even with their terrible app. Did we enjoy our time in DR? Yes we did. This resort is nice but there were a lot of room for improvements, especially with staffing. I got yelled at but one of the workers twice for asking a question. As a first time it was good but I've heard there is better out there. My overall rating 6.5/10. English speakers take your Spanish friends because there were a lot of language barriers at this resort.

The worst experience I ever had at a resort. It was a complete disappointment compared to my previous visit with this same resort and location.

Jan 24, 2026Ocean view is not ocean view save your money
Ocean view is no view of the ocean. According to the bell boy it is an Oceanside view. I did not see the ocean or hear it except that one stormy night. But I am sure the whole hotel heard it. Lounge chairs are scarce. Same at pools scarce.

Very good
Overall very good. Minor plumbing issues. Suggest more training/hiring English speaking staff. Language barrier did impact overall satisfaction.
