Be Prepared.
Having been to an all-inclusive resort for a week every winter since the early 2000s, I feel like I can speak with some authority on this… You will be dropped off at the edge of a neighborhood. Hopefully your driver will be better than ours. There’s an Oxxo store up the road, as well as a big department type store - you might want to make a note of it, because your room will only have one warm bottle of water in it, and a lot of the day you won’t be able to find anything to eat. Check in will be nice and relaxed. Maybe excruciatingly slow would be a better way to describe it. Maybe the staff were all training the day we arrived. Without any trainers present. Before opening the door to your room, close your eyes and picture Motel 6 in the 80s, and get prepared. I think they shipped in the furniture when Motel 6 upgraded in the 90s. Once you enter, be very happy if your light works. The lamps on the nightstands might even work too, if you’re really lucky. Apparently, some of the rooms are even equipped with a floor lamp! You know you’ve hit the jackpot then. Before you look at the shower, lower your expectations. Then lower them a bit more. Did you bring some flip-flops? I’d suggest wearing them in there. Yikes. The shower curtain looks like it’s been there since back when shower curtains were a thing. If you arrive in the afternoon, you’ll be waiting until after 6pm to get anything to eat. Bring food. Once the buffet opens, you and all the birds in the area will enjoy some Saran wrap covered food that you may have to uncover yourself. Underwhelming doesn’t even begin to describe the buffet. Tomorrow, if you want to fight with the wifi at 8am, you might be able to get a reservation at one of the a la carte places. I wish you luck. Otherwise, line up with 50 other people at 7:30am. There are pools. And lounge chairs. If you want one, you’ll have to get up at 6am and go get one. They don’t skim the pools during the day.. ‘nuff said. The beach is nice. The sand is fine. If you like to run on the beach, take a week off. The angle down to the water is pretty steep. On the way back up to the resort, you can try your best to wash your feet at the shower station. One of them almost works! In short, if you pay more than $900/wk per person, Wyndham is seriously ripping you off. A few days in, and I was envying the people heading to the airport to go home.

Way below average and definitely no a 4.5 advertised resort!
Free wifi that doesn’t work well at all! Didn’t receive the room we booked, spent the first night sleeping apart. Food was below average, choices always the same! Buffet was not one to cater to all ethnicities and more to cater to the locals. There’s only so much rice, beans and fish a person can eat when it’s at all 3 meals! Ala cart…..maybe 1-2 of 5 open a night and you had to be down at the desk by 8am to reserve as the QR code didn’t work, so then you were lucky to get a reservation at all by the time it was your turn. 1 of 10 days the room actually smelled clean, the vanity sink always had ants , I guess it depended on which housekeeper you got that actually cleaned. Most times, the rooms weren’t made up until 3-4pm. Most entertainment during the day was for kids and night entertainment was next to nil. Missing light bulbs and a non working phone in our friends room took 4 days to get fixed or replaced. Watered down alcohol. The website needs a huge update because nothing was what they advertise! 4.5 stars when booking and literally would give them 2 and that’s being generous. Very sad first experience. It definitely was not the city, it was the resort! Off resort adventures were amazing!

Worst resort
Worst place I have ever stayed at booked king rooms got 2 doubles more like a single bed got to room no coffee makers no stocked fridge no light bulbs in lamps blow feet smelled like it was gonna blow up room phone didn’t work. Took three days to get lightbulbs and a new blow. Dryer took eight days for a new room phone. They advertise for five-a la cart restaurants . You’re lucky if you get one or two a night and it’s usually the same ones. The buffets are terrible. Most of the staff doesn’t speak English. Rooms not made up on regular basis Wifi is terrible The beds are like sleeping on boards there so hard TVs pixels are shot Do not stay here

Summer nightmare
What was supposed to be an end of summer trip with the family ended up being a nightmare. From the moment we walked in the receptionist rushed the check-in process. We were told that someone would come and assist us with our luggage. No one ever came. We had to walk around the hotel with our luggage in hand looking for our room. That same night we went out to dinner. The buffet was nothing like it was pictured. The food wasn’t the best, but after hours of traveling, anything would be OK. once we ate dinner and went back to our room. We noticed that the entire room was flooded. We reached out to the receptionist and let them know of situation we were told that it would be taken care of immediately that was at 8:30 PM the situation was not fixed until almost one in the morning. I understand we are not the only guest, but our main concern was that it was a safety issue. After that we asked for a bottle of water since we were only provided one for the two of us. We were immediately shut down and told you get no water bottles “you only get one”. the next morning we went to the receptionist and told her that we wanted to go ahead and change to a different hotel because of the disastrous experience that we have been having. The receptionist just replied with an OK. luckily for us we were able to get another hotel in the area and we’re able to enjoy the rest of our trip

Absolutely Horrible Experience – Misleading, Unsafe, and Unacceptable
Absolutely Horrible Experience – Misleading, Unsafe, and Unacceptable I booked this stay hoping for a peaceful vacation with my husband, who is currently battling ill. Instead, we were met with chaos and neglect from the moment we arrived. Reservation not found: After traveling and arriving exhausted, we were told our reservation didn’t exist. No help, no apology—just confusion. Infestation: Roaches and ants were everywhere. It was disgusting and completely unacceptable. Filthy room & broken AC: The room was dirty beyond belief, and the air conditioning didn’t work. In this heat, that’s not just uncomfortable—it’s dangerous. AC did not work for 2 1/2 days! we requested a FAN and they provided us with an attitude. Electrical hazards: The outlets didn’t work properly, and when we tried to plug in a fan, sparks flew. We were lucky it didn’t start a fire. Food hygiene nightmare: The dining area was swarming with flies. We couldn’t eat without constantly swatting them away. This was day one. False advertising: The photos and descriptions on Interval’s site are completely misleading. This place is nothing like what was promised. This is a MOTEL! Unreliable Wi-Fi: We couldn’t even stay connected long enough to try and get help. Old, run-down building and furniture: The bed was ancient and uncomfortable, and the entire building felt neglected and unsafe. Unprofessional customer service: The manager, Nestor Marrugo, refused to speak with us directly and instead sent the receptionist—who was kind and apologetic—to handle the situation while he sat “busy” on his phone. That level of disregard is unacceptable. WE DO NOT RECEMEND THIS MOTEL! It is HORRIBLE we ended up leaving 3 days later due to the neglect, hazard, no AC and just have no words on my disappointment and lost of money.
