May 17, 2025Princess Family Club Bavaro – Honest Review with Platinum Upgrade
We spent a full week at Princess Family Club Bavaro and added the Platinum upgrade for some added perks. While many aspects of the resort impressed us, there were some frustrations worth noting—especially regarding how the Platinum experience is structured. Pros: Outstanding Staff: Every staff member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and dedicated to providing excellent service. Quality Food and Drinks: The food was consistently good, both at the buffet and the à la carte restaurants. The drink options were plentiful and well-prepared. Clean Pools and Gorgeous Beach: The pools were clean and family-friendly, and the beach area was beautiful, with plenty of loungers and shade. Cleanliness: The entire resort was spotless. Our room was cleaned daily, and common areas were very well-maintained. Buffet Variety: There were lots of options available at every meal, including selections that worked well for both adults and kids. Easy Reservation System: Booking restaurant reservations was simple and quick through the resort’s app or concierge. Cons: Large Property and Overcrowded Trolleys: The resort is very spread out. Walking long distances is often necessary, especially when trying to access Platinum amenities. While trolleys are available, they are frequently full, which led to delays and frustration. Platinum Upgrade Has Drawbacks: While the Platinum upgrade offers nice extras like access to a private beach area, premium lounges, and higher-end bars, the execution is not ideal if you're staying in the Family Club section. We paid for Platinum but were housed in the Family Club, which is far from the Platinum facilities. This meant we had to walk long distances or wait for trolleys just to use the benefits we paid for. At the neighboring Tropical Princess, Platinum services are available throughout the resort, making them much more accessible and worthwhile. Limited Evening Entertainment: During our 7-night stay, only two nights featured shows in the main theater. For a family-focused resort, we expected more consistent nightly entertainment. Final Thoughts: Princess Family Club Bavaro has a lot to offer—great service, excellent food, and beautiful surroundings. The Platinum upgrade provides nice perks, but it is not essential and may not be worth the added cost if you are placed in the Family Club section. Guests should be aware of the layout and how access to Platinum services is managed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but those looking for seamless access to premium amenities may want to consider nearby alternatives like the Tropical Princess.

I had the pleasure of staying at Princess Bavaro recently. It was my second visit. Both visits I was greeted by “Schneider” at reception. I can’t say enough great things about him. On both occasions he was very accommodating and friendly. He’s knowledgeable about the resort and can help you with a variety of things such a driver to the airport. He’s mature and intelligent which is exactly what you need when you arrive tired to a resort. He will help accommodate you in any way he can. I hope I have the pleasure of seeing him on my next visit!

Had an absolute blast here!!! The food and staff are incredible, Marbel and Cristal are the life of the party and we had so much fun with them. Always ready to dance and party with us. Would recommended everyone to come here!!🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️🥰🥰❤️

Exceeded expectations!
To start I was apprehensive about this hotel as it has such a mixed bag of reviews. Firstly we was in platinum so I cannot speak for the non platinum side of things but we certainly had no complaints. The restaurants in platinum were fabulous, but we also ate in the Teppanyaki, steak house, Italian and Indian. Some of the portions were on the small side but hey you just order more! No complaints on the food whatsoever! Loved the Chopin platinum buffet restaurant ohh and the food trucks form on the beach were decent. Aldi the coffee shop did amazing Frappuccinos. The platinum pool and bar was super friendly and less overcrowded, in fact we never used the main pool. There is also a quiet pool if you like to get away from it all. The beach was fabulous and the beach service, and sun beds were ace! The beds are super comfy double loungers! The room was lovely, super comfortable bed, cleaned to a high standard every day! The room was large and had everything we needed. We found ALL the staff to be friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The added bonus of the train to get you about was great too as it’s a fairly large resort. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, the mangrove section is a nice touch! And let’s not forget to mention the peacocks, as they are everywhere! Honestly if you read some reviews it could really put you off this hotel, which many of us spoke about whilst in resort! We just didn’t understand it! Whether it’s a platinum vs non platinum issue but I can honestly say we had the best time, didn’t want for anything! Would go back to the hotel in a heartbeat, we loved it!!!!!

Wonderful
Nayeli from kids mini club was very helpful with us during our stay. She was welcoming to my family and our daughter. Nayeli was also very informational in all kid activities and gave us times to be there. Would definitely come back to hotel bc of her.
