Paradise found!
My husband and I booked the Fairmont to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The property is absolutely spectacular and every employee we came in contact with was so kind and helpful. Our room had a gorgeous view out to the ocean and I enjoyed coffee on the lanai every morning. We ordered delicious food and cocktails poolside as well as at the swim up bar. We played basketball in the pool and rode the slide every day. Polo beach that fronts the property is perfect and we used the chaise lounge and umbrella service everyday of our trip. The ocean was warm, clear and had the perfect waves to bounce around in. We saw a pod of dolphins swim by one morning! The location of the property is perfect to walk the Wailea beach path, visit other beaches to snorkel and the on property restaurants are delicious. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast every morning and found all the selections delicious! Do yourself a favor and book this property! We can't wait to go back!

Wonderful stay at a beautiful resort.
The Kea Lani is aesthetically captivating from the moment you pull up to the portico! The huge, open air lobby hosts an abundance of sitting nooks, adorned by colorful floral arrangements and beautiful Hawaiian inspired art pieces. Outside, the manicured grounds are no less stunning. The room/bathroom was very, very spacious. The bathtub was super comfortable, if the bed had not been so nice too, I would have slept in it. Our room had a direct ocean view...ideal for watching the sunset. I found the entire hotel (our room, elevators, public restrooms...etc, to be spotless). The things that stood out: #1 the breakfast buffet. It was pricey but, exceptional quality, both in the food and service...I highly recommend indulging at least once. #2 I don't remember roosters being "a thing" on Maui, but they are. They are everywhere...and I found that cute. The entire staff was helpful and friendly...especially the guys in charge of the beach chairs/canoe experience. I could have stayed another few days...easily!

A little too uppity
Before coming to this hotel we stayed four nights at the Fairmont Orchid on The Big Island. The Fairmont Orchid set the bar of which this hotel is measured against. This hotel had a different pretentious vibe to it from beginning to end. Their restaurants were so overpriced we learned after day one to eat outside the resort. Front desk check in woman was snotty and made sure she wasn’t going to give us an upgrade for nothing even though they were at 40% capacity. I could tell obviously she wasn’t a native of the islands. In fact she told us where she was from in the states and I’ll just say it might account for the chilliness in her attitude. Like we were bothersome for even asking. Fairmont Orchid did give us the nicest upgrade and we didn’t ask it to be free! And they knew it was a trip celebrating our 25th anniversary! That’s ok. We didn’t pay for a room upgrade here. What was kind of crappy was she put us at the farthest building from everything. No I didn’t complain. The room was gorgeous. The view of the street below wasn’t. It just seemed like we were ignored wherever we went in the resort. Trying to order a $22 dollar drink to end the night shouldn’t take 30 minutes. I got ignored at adult pool wanting to order a drink while three of the staff talked to a very well to do couple that was very well known at the resort it seemed. No one manned the adult pool towel area. In fact there was no staff to ask anything of at the adult pool until about 11:30am every morning. The nicest people were the people that cleaned our room. We saved up for this trip and at least at the Fairmont Orchid it was a dream come true experience. I cannot say the same about this Fairmont hotel. Btw neither this hotel nor The Fairmont Orchid had smart TV’s.

Fantastic First Visit to the Fairmont Kea Lani
My husband and I just returned from a fabulous seven night stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani. This was our first stay at a luxury resort in Wailea, in the past we typically booked a beach condo, so we were very much looking forward to a relaxing week of doing pretty much nothing ;) The Fairmont does deliver relaxation and comfort! We enjoyed all of the pool areas, lounge chair areas (lots of places to lounge with various views of the ocean, lovely grounds or pool). The chairs and umbrellas at the beach were great too, although it would be nice if the lounge chairs were refurbished or replaced. Otherwise , hard to complain about napping on the beach with the lull of waves at your feet. We stayed in an ocean view room, overlooking the adult pool. Lovely views of the hotel grounds and ocean. That sunset can be blinding though! Don't forget your sunglasses... Unfortunately, we missed the grand re-opening of Ko restaurant by a few days, but they were putting finishing touches on the decor and it looks really great, Once that opens again, it will really add to the dining options. Pilina is a great spot for drinks and bites, especially during sunset. We actually preferred sitting at the bar a little later in the evening with the live music. Very upscale and chill. We really enjoyed a few evenings at the bar at Nick's, great bartenders and food! The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Housekeeping was the best I've ever experienced, what a great team! Actually all of the staff were attentive and friendly, which made our week even more pleasant. We only have a few criticisms. One is regarding the fridge in the room. It doesn't have a temperature control, so almost everything we put in it would end up half frozen. The other negative is really outdated wifi and TV tech, which caused a few headaches. If you were staying for a work trip, it would probably be a bigger challenge. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Fairmont Kea Lani. It's expensive, but you know that when you book, but sometimes you just need to treat yourself! We are very much looking forward to our next visit! Aloha!

Stellar Stay at a Five Star Hotel
Wonderful stay here. Everything from the friendliness of the staff to the stunning grounds to the amenities and restaurant options made this hotel first class. What I think is vastly underappreciated is the panoply of extracurricular activities offered by the hotel. The canoe experience was phenomenal (we had Ralph). The stargazing session with Mike was a memory I’ll cherish forever…incredible knowledge and affability in showing us the stars and clouds (we saw Saturn with the rings!). Also had a great culturally educational experience with the ukulele lesson and lei making lesson. Would highly recommend.
