Great staff & super helpful shuttle driver!
I stayed at the Embassy Suites Scottsdale for a 2-day business conference in October. My room was quiet and clean (which I definitely appreciated after long conference days!), but it could use a little updating. Nothing major—just a bit dated. Most of the hotel staff I interacted with were very pleasant and helpful, but I really want to give a special shout-out to our shuttle driver, Jorey. She was amazing. Every ride felt like a mini-tour of Scottsdale—she pointed out different spots along the way, gave us ideas for where to visit during our downtime, and was just genuinely friendly and willing to help with anything we needed. It made the trip so much nicer. Thank you again, Jorey!

Always an amazing stay!!!
Always an amazing stay!! we have stayed there for several years for a girls weekend would always choose to go back. Great location with a courtesy van to use for closer destinations The breakfasts are amazing as well as the happy hours The front is always welcoming. However, on this recent visit, I misplaced my prescription sunglasses. Of course I did not notice this until I got home and I was pleased when Mercella answered the phone. From the moment I explained to my situation, she went above and beyond, and even called me back when she was leaving for the day to let me know if she was still unable to find them. She went the extra mile, and I really appreciate her❤️ Thank you embassy suites and Mercella

Disappointed
Good things first- the pool looked nice (I didn't use it) and heard good things about the free breakfast. I was there for a meeting and their meetong space was nice. Wifi was fast. My room smelled like smoke, there was very little lighting in the bathroom, and most of the outlets were on lamps- none of which worked. I had to move furniture to plug in. Overall it needs an update.

Plusses and Minuses
I spent 5 nights here for a conference. There were some good things and some not so good. I'll start with the plusses: --Almost all of the staff members were very friendly and helpful. --Housekeeping did an excellent job. I was in and out frequently, but they managed to clean my room each day without disturbing me, and they did a great job. --Rooms are very large, with a table in the living room and a desk/dressing table in the bedroom. --The grounds are very pretty and well-maintained. --Location isn't bad, although I didn't have much time to explore (and it was raining a lot). --The free shuttle service is handy and the driver was wonderful. --I was able to get a 1pm checkout at no extra cost. --Free breakfast is pretty good. The minuses: --Wifi was horrible. I could rarely connect in my room. --Lightning struck an adjacent transformer, knocking out power for several hours. This wasn't the hotel's fault, and generators kept some lights on. But of course the elevators were out, and the stairwells had very little emergency lighting. --The AC was brutal. It was set at 60F when I checked into my room, and even when I turned it up to 79F, the room remained Arctic. --The room needs refurbishing. Carpet was stained, furniture was banged up. One dresser drawer opened by itself unless wedged shut with a towel. There was a slight mildewy smell, probably due to the AC, which dripped onto the floor outside the bathroom. --I had a terrible experience at the restaurant. I had to be somewhere at 1:30. Arrived at noon. By 1pm, most of our large party had been served and had eaten, but 3 of us still had no food. We tracked down the server (who was hard to find) and reordered. Twenty-five minutes later, still no food and no sign of the server. I had to leave with no lunch. --The grounds are a bit of a maze. It was a little difficult to find my room in the dark when I first checked in.

Wonderful employees made the conference
I just returned from a conference held here and have to write a review on the wonderful employees here. Brandon and Cornelius who worked both the pool bar and the restaurant bar were stellar. The smiles on their faces never wavered even when they were under stress from being the only servers handling at least 30 people. I hope management takes note and rewards them somehow. I've been to numerous conferences and these two employees are among the best I've seen in over ten years.
