    Not worth the money

    I had a hard time trying to rate this resort. I didn't choose this resort but went there for a special event. Spent 4 nights there. First, I want to say "thank you" to some of the more recent travelers. Your warnings definitely helped me prepare better for my experience. In other words, they helped lower my expectations so I wouldn't be disappointed. PERSONNEL: The staff at this resort was outstanding! Everyone was polite and professional, from the welcoming crew to housekeeping and all others in between. But special recognition has to go out to Julio on the welcoming staff, Omar, Natividad, and Rosendo at the Adults Only pool. ROOMS: Our room was clean. The bed was just OK with regard to comfort. The bathroom area was nice. The shower had plenty of hot water and the water pressure was very good. The room furniture left a lot to be desired, though. It was old, and the chair cushions were stained. The couch was not inviting either, so we didn't sit on it. The room also had that old, musty, mildew smell. I know it can be common at beachfront properties, but it's still problematic. Burning incense was helpful, though. The jacuzzi on the deck was unusable as it was very dirty. Although we would like to have sat outside on our deck and enjoy a cocktail we couldn't because there were too many of those little annoying ants crawling around. GROUNDS: The things that were completely under the control of the staff were very nice. There was no trash lying around anywhere. Walkways were sufficiently lit at night, so you felt safe walking around. Pool areas were well maintained. Unfortunately, the beach is another story. The sargassum was real. Made the beach completely unusable. The odor definitely had a negative impact on our experience because, at times, it permeated the entire resort. Sometimes, it smelled like rotten eggs; other times, like horse manure. Of course, the heat and humidity didn't help the situation. However, I do understand that there was little the resort staff could do to address the problem. FOOD: Overall, this was a big disappointment. The buffet at the World Cafe was decent for breakfast and lunch, the dinner restaurants were not. However, we were not able to get a reservation for the Hibachi restaurant during our stay. And, although the waitstaff was polite, the service was SLOW. Plan to wait at least an hour for your food after you place your order. And that's when the restaurant is not busy. Other than the French fries, I didn't care for the buffet food near the main pool. First of all, the food was not well covered and there were birds landing around it all day. More importantly, it just wasn't good. I couldn't eat the burger because it was so bad. Not trying to be funny but I have a hard time believing it was beef. Although I really appreciated the efforts of the staff, especially the ones I mentioned by name, I don't think I would stay there again for all the reasons I stated. Specifically, the room and food left a lot to be desired, especially considering the cost. I would definitely look for other options the next time I visit the area. Or hopefully Hyatt will make the necessary upgrades to the entire property, not just one section. It really won't take much to make it a great experience for everyone in my opinion. They've already got top notch personnel.

    High Tide getaway

    Lovely stay in the Indigo swim out. Food was good, drinks were great. Very good service the entire week. Would stay again

    Perfect Trip

    Such a beautiful resort and an amazing helpful staff. The fire show was incredible. Can’t wait to get to come back. The food was delicious and there were so many choices . The polls had so much space, it was never crowded. Really enjoyed the adult pool as well.

    High Tide Getaway Stay

    We absolutely enjoyed our stay and experience with Dreams Saffire Resort and the Blackberry Smoke High Tide Getaway. We look forward to returning asap!!!

    Highly reccomend!

    Fantastic experience! The restaurants were great, the service was amazing! Our room was cleaned each day and we received turn down service each evening. The staff, especially the entertainment staff was FABULOUS! Would definitely go again!
