Jan 24, 2026A very enjoyable stay but with us a massive caveat
We were here for a week on an all inclusive basis ( having stayed last year on a B& B basis but preferred) . We were offered the opportunity to upgrade to preferred at a reduced rate but declined as felt still very expensive for the benefits we would have received. Check was seemless and were very quickly in our room overlooking the pool at the rear . Room spacious and immaculately clean .No complaints at all although I still find the separate toilet from the sink and shower a bit bizarre!! Like wise room cleaned each day . Food was to a high standard ( especially the buffet lunch & dinner) and also lovely food to enjoy. We also ate in 3 of the 4 Ala carte restaurants and thought they were enjoyable. Drinks were to a high standard and service always fast . We think we may have benefited from the hotel being at lower occupancy? We think to maintain its high ratings the hotel may have to tweak a couple of minor issues . Toilet at pool a bit tired and some of the sun loungers have seen better days (relatively easy ) however what would stop me coming back to the hotel ( and possibly Playa Blanca ) is the smell !!!!! There appears to be some sort of sewage treatment spot between Dreams & The Barcello that depending on which way wind blows leads to a disgusting smell that you can’t get away from even with all doors closed. It was terrible on 2 nights My wife recalled it from previous visit but thinks it’s far worse now . It appears to be known locally a Pooh Corner !!

Fantastic break at Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada. Tim & Alicie were fantastic supporting the different activities available, especially painting/wine tasting & tote bag painting. Tim was particularly cute 😉

January holiday review
The hotel staff were really helpful, a friends birthday and the staff were lovely, brought a cup cake with a candle in it. We tried painting and wine & tote bag designing, with Tim & Alicia who were lovely/ patient & supported our talents!

Amazing hotel on the seafront. Upgraded to a suite. Breakfast was lovely.
Alejandro in reception gave us a free upgrade to a suite for my husbands birthday. We also enjoyed the preferred club perks.
