Dec 03, 2025Beautiful Resort, Service Excellent, Food Mediocre
My partner and I had Preferred member status for our first visit. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Byron, our personal Hyatt concierge, and he was so helpful and so sweet. He took us to the Preferred Lounge, which was very nice with a little snack buffet and higher end liquor. We were given a map of the restaurants on the Secrets and Dreams side of the resort. The room was clean and the atmosphere was calming. Byron continued to text us and make sure we had everything we needed. We had wonderful service and drinks at the Preferred beach area but especially the Preferred pool area. I want to emphasize the wonderful, efficient service we received from our servers/bartenders: Diorka, Affeman, Jose, and Evelin. Drinks and service were superb. The only disappointment was the food. Coastal, La Moustache, and Caboa were not good. Mare and Sakura were decent. We did enjoy the local cuisine that was offered, but anything prepared in a non-local style needs a touch up. Maybe a Chef consultation where you refine the dishes with the product in house. Don’t need to upgrade.. just prepare properly. Scores, the sports bar, had a nice touch to it. The room service was decent at night but the breakfast was poor. Overall though, the service and gorgeous atmosphere makes it worth it. Thank you to the wonderful staff.

Diorka was awesome. She was always there when you need her with a smile. Very helpful and friendly, great service. She remembered us and what we liked. Was great with the language barrier and very patient with us.

Amazing experience
My stay at Secrets La Romana Resort & Spa was truly exceptional. From the warm welcome to the cleanliness and attention to detail, everything made us feel well cared for. Special thanks to William and Dareling from the entertainment team for their energy and enthusiasm, and to Hector and Joldan from restaurant management for their professionalism and dedication. The staff at the Mediterranean restaurant and the cafés were attentive, friendly, and always welcoming. A concern during one dinner was handled promptly and thoughtfully, and the team went above and beyond to improve our experience. Overall, the staff across the resort was fantastic, always attentive and ready to assist. What began as a friends’ trip turned into an unforgettable experience. I am grateful to the team and look forward to returning.

Exceptional Stay – A Real Caribbean Gem!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Secrets La Romana – Adults Only Section Exceptional Stay – A Real Caribbean Gem! This was our third visit to the Dominican Republic, but our first time on the Caribbean Sea side — and what a difference! After a long trip and a rather stressful airport experience, we arrived a bit late in the evening, but the hotel staff immediately made us forget all the hassle. We booked 12 nights with the Preferred option, and I highly recommend it — the dedicated pool, bar and additional services truly elevate the entire stay. 🌊 Beach & Resort Grounds The resort is located on the Caribbean coast, and we were honestly surprised by how clean and calm the water is compared to the Punta Cana side. We spent hours in the sea — seeing fish, turtles, and even a manatee! The resort grounds are incredibly green and beautifully maintained. There’s a tennis court, volleyball court, 9 à la carte restaurants (all included without extra charge or reservations, except Sakura), a water park, and even a small “secret forest” with a lake and fish. 🏨 Room Upgrade At check-in, we were offered a paid room upgrade. We viewed the new room, loved it immediately and gladly moved. The staff handled everything quickly and smoothly. ⭐ Outstanding Staff – Yoel & Julio Made Our Trip Unforgettable From day one, we were lucky to be taken care of by Yoel Almonte — absolutely exceptional service, attention to detail and genuine kindness. Special thanks also to Julio Paguero, the manager of Coastal Grill. These two made our stay feel like a fairy tale. Their professionalism, passion and precision make them true diamonds for any hotel that aims to deliver a best-in-class guest experience. 🍽️ Restaurants – Our Top Picks Coastal Grill – our most visited; excellent food, wonderful staff and a beautiful view. Chinola – great for its seaside atmosphere and evening entertainment. Thank you, Héctor! Sakura – both the Sushi and Teppanyaki options are worth trying. We also had the pleasure of meeting Héctor, who oversees all restaurants – thank you for your time and professionalism. One in house breakfast was included and even for people who aren’t big breakfast fans, it was a lovely experience. Thank you William & Patricio for the wonderful mornings. 🎉 Entertainment & Activities The animation team absolutely owns the show, under the guidance of Esteban obviously a leader, that the staff follow and have as an example, I guess because of the guidance he took from Maria Fernanda. Btw, Esteban is an incredible dancer as well. Special thanks to Yuliana, Maria & Super Félix for the fun, the games, and the Zumba sessions. The resort even brings in a professional Zumba instructor every week! There are also various master classes: painting, bracelet making, and more. Of course, every real party needs two more things: Disco – located inside the Sports Bar, with a DJ that keeps the energy high. We visited every night! Fantastic bartender Francisco – truly completes the experience. Oh, and yes — there is a casino, and the staff there is great as well. 🧹 Housekeeping A special thank you to Argentina Reyez, who kept our room spotless every single day. We truly appreciated it. ⭐ Final Verdict An unforgettable stay, made extraordinary by the staff, the location and the atmosphere. We will definitely return!

Beautiful la Romania report
Despite the rain and flooding incident we had the most amazing time here, food was incredible so much choice and staff can’t help enough. Top hotel to stay at
