    Disappointing Stay; Not Worth All-Inclusive $$

    To say I’m disappointed about my recent stay at this “resort” would be an understatement. It’s a 4/10 honestly. Pros: -The room is a nice size. -The staff (pool bar-Javier, Jesus, Juan) were amazing and we tipped well! -Breakfast Buffet young man (I believe it was Nallen), something like that- super nice and polite. -The Manager at Portofino’s, Antonio, was nice. -Andreas at Seaside Grill was very nice - give all the workers mentioned more money. Cons: -No hot water (7 days & no hot showers) -Hyatt needs to send a team in to help this resort. The Hyatt standard isn’t there and it shows, a lot! -Food was bad, esp for the buffet near the huts on the man made beach - the fried fish and mashed potatoes were great. -The preferred club was a joke. Some better alcohol but it wasn’t worth the extra money. -The hosts at Portofino’s need Inclusivity training. They let white men with flip flops in but told those with color to change shoes. - Dreams said they have a zero policy against racism. I guess that didn’t apply to me and a couple friends sitting at the pool. A lady jumps into our conversation, gets out of her seat and starts walking toward up. Yelling out racist comments during the event- I picked up my phone and recorded her in our area but nothing happened. I will make Hyatt properties a last option as I travel. Overall, the country was nice. We had to leave the resort to get exceptional service and good food. I wouldn’t stay at this property again. They need help become a luxury resort and understanding the needs of ALL global travelers.

    Dreams Karibana Is a Nightmare!

    My friends and I were inconvenienced from lack of amenities and service advertised. became sick from food. Some in our group were called racial slurs by another guest; nothing was done to the offender. As Preferred Guests, by the end of the week, breakfast, all snacks and most premium drinks had been removed.

    Dreams is a Nightmare!

    I am currently staying at the Dreams Karibana by Hyatt in Cartagena and was extremely disappointed with my experience. Despite the friendly and accommodating staff, the resort itself left much to be desired. The biggest issue was the food, which was consistently underwhelming. Every meal felt like a letdown, with bland flavors and limited options. Additionally, the daily housekeeping service was lackluster. We found ourselves having to call the front desk for washcloths every day after the room was supposedly cleaned, which was frustrating and inconvenient. Every time I call the front desk, I'm told 5 more minutes. I'm being patient & waiting 20 before I call again and they tell me 5 more minutes. Waited 5 hours one day before being given dirty towel. Can't wait to check out of this filthy place. Health and safety also seemed to be compromised during my stay, as I and a number of guests in and out of my party fell ill, which further dampened the experience. I wasn't feeling well Monday so rdered soup because it was the only thing i could keep down. After waiting for 2 hours and being told that they were on their way twice, I gave up and went to bed without eating. Two of the others who were sick like me truncated their stay and changed their flights to go home early. Perhaps the most disturbing part of the trip was an unpleasant encounter with another guest who exhibited blatantly racist behavior towards me and my friends, using a derogatory term that was both shocking and unacceptable. We found out right away from another guest that she had also used racially derogatory names towards her and her daughter. While the staff did their best under the circumstances, the overall environment and offerings at the resort did not meet our expectations. The term "Preferred" appeared to hold no significant value in terms of service or amenities, which was another letdown. Throughout the week, the "Preferred" guest options were eliminated until they were all but gone. By the final day, all restaurants were closed except for one. In conclusion, while I love visiting Cartagena, I will not be returning to this Dreams by Hyatt property.

    Cartagena Dreams is a Nightmare!!!

    0 7 friends traveled from Connecticut & Wisconsin. Smaller resort than appears nothing to do a few pools and some music at main pool none at VIP Preferred pool. Have to ask for towels amd face cloths every single day and night. They delivered some that look like they shrink of you wet and they were hard as hell could take your skin off. Had a dead rodent on balcony that rook 3 days to remove after reporting Twice. Bathroom has not been swept or mopped at all on a 7 day stay. We requested because there is dust, hair and eyelash on floor that does not belong to us in toilet/bathroom area. Reported 3 times still not done. Food sucks. Passover event happening here so they are now painting and cleaning some and closed main dining areas without notice to accommodate them which is ok because they paid ..bit we paid and now in VIP Preferred no bar or waiter service at all but they are servicing main.pool area. Also did not get spa coupons and promised with out Preferred vip payments and now due to passover event they moved us to a different dining area with no notifications at all and served rice and chicken wings for breakfast. Food is not correct temp so some of us had to get prescription meds and we have to complain every single day. Juan and Jesus at Barefoot Grille have been very attentive but I would like corporate contact me I spend good money for this resort and have not gotten proper service at all. Please contact me asap I normally only post positive reviews but I work hard foe my money amd this sucks other people are also complaining amd they are travel agents staying on premises qith same complaints I have pictures as well. I spent hard earned cash on this trip and the only thing that is good is the sun. Today we could not order the snacks at the usual grille because of the passover event and no one notified us we would not have full service so no accommodations have been adequate for regular folks at all. I want a refund asap.

    Don't book here

    I'm highly disappointed by the service. Currently at the resort and there's a group coming in for Passover and the resort has taken the food away from the bar, the breakfast buffet did not have bacon. I'm not Jewish therefore I eat bacon. They removed the Black statues from the preferred lounge. This resort is a total disappointment and I would not recommend nor will I be returning. You can't get face cloths in the room. The resoet costs too much to deal with this nonsense. The water in the shower does not get hot. I definitely have realized that guests who have been here are not being accommodated, but the Jewish folks are getting whatever they want. The photos are from when wr first arrived, but now they're gone.
