Diplomat has some excellent employees who go above and beyond. Chevelle at the front desk is delightful and well informed. Gloria at the front desk was quick and patient when resolving an issue. Gabriel in valet was amazing in providing assistance with the ebikes. Those three made our visit!!!

Came for meeting and booked an extension to spend our limited family vacation time here. Rooms fine. Service fine. Lovely location. Only one pool open. Lagoon pool and splash pad seen in photos and reviews closed (perhaps permanently?). Lots of construction noise/rerouting. Advertised al fresco breakfast unavailable (indoor only). Renovations, temporary inconveniences, and changes to offerings are obviously reasonable, but there was no notice at reservation confirmation, on hotel website or Hilton app, at check in, or at any point besides when we had one parent with 2 kids loaded and roaming in search of the splash pad that things were operating any differently from how the property was advertised. Valet retrieval via text as indicated on ticket received no response, so called down and told the text system was unreliable, then still had to wait for car for a while after it took us many minutes to mobilize the crew to the lobby. Requested to check out a day early to stay somewhere with more services available as Diamond Honors member and was told we would have to pay an early departure fee equal to the total reservation. Requested late checkout then and advised $50/hour fee. Truly unacceptable representation of the brand and would have absolutely chosen a different property had completely predictable deviations from expected facilities and services been transparently disclosed at any point prior to attempting to use.

We Loved the Diplomat
The experience was phenomenal. As a Black Gay couple, we feel as though we’ve never been treated better than at the hotel. Anything that needed to be done or that we wanted done, was completed without question. To be seen is an important part of the experience. From the moment we arrived, the guest services representative at the Front Desk provided a pleasant reception experience. It seemed as though the person was nervous to ensure we had a good check-in. The person delivered, without error! We loved the vibe of the hotel that I would describe was modern, laid back, and exactly what you need when you want to just take a step away from everything in life. We had breakfast at Palmea, we had lunch at the Ocean Grill (get the Cubano 21), and drinks at the main bar … two words … on point. The accommodations were spacious and cozy (we had a kind ocean facing room). It was clean, serviced every day, and deserving of high praise to the staff. Overall, this has been a great experience and we recommend the hotel as a great choice for the Ft Lauderdale/Hollywood area.

Dec 06, 2025Pretty location but the nickel and diming cheapens the experience
Beautiful location, but the nickle and diming, lack of service and information, and construction is not worth the exorbitant lodging cost and resort fee. Room came with poop at the bottom of the toilet upon entering, a broken TV, and burned out light bulbs. Clothes iron had burned fabric coating it. Only one pool is open and the beach is filled with stinging jellyfish (including the deadly man o’ war 😳). Can rarely get ahold of the front desk. Website is largely unhelpful and full of inaccuracies (breakfast is NOT included). Want an umbrella to keep your infant from getting burned? $40, despite a $50 per day resort fee. Gas station quality pre-made salads are $20 from a cooler (plus 20% gratuity). Water is $9. Watered down drinks are $20. Two basic breakfasts took over an hour to get and cost $85. Got so ridiculous that we just made jokes that we shouldn’t ask for clothes hangers because it would cost $5000 plus gratuity. The staff are doing what they can, but it’s clear they are understaffed and underpaid. Nothing but a cash grab for a nice area.

A true luxurious beach hotel experience!
The Diplomat hotel absolutely never disappoints! The service by all of the staff is incredible. The food is excellent and the views from the hotel are exceptional. It’s one of our very favorite places to stay in the Miami/Broward area that is very centralized to all areas of Miami and the Fort Lauderdale beaches.
