Jan 23, 2026Beautiful resort! Very relaxing.
Breathless is a beautiful resort with a gorgeous beach. The main pool is definitely a party pool and very noisy, but the pool nearer the beach is quieter and very nice. We spent most of our time on the beach and at the smaller swim-up pools near our rooms. Those were perfect - we could always get chairs and there was a small bar nearby for pina coladas!

Amazing
We have just returned from Breathless. We travelled as a couple. Before arriving at the hotel we were a little worried after viewing some negative reviews - we needn't have worried. The resort is exactly that - a resort with so so much to do. Yes there is a party vibe but equally lots of chillout areas. Food - we could not complain - the buffet always had something that we could eat, yes some nights more enjoyable than others but never less than an 8/10. Drinks were really good quality and you could see they were all top brands and definitely not watered down. Rooms are big and spacious and cleaned on a regular basis but one downside to this was that the noise on the corridor was very loud - the only issue we had was that we did not have a do not disturb sign but we could have easily asked for one. We had a room overlooking the pool when we booked a garden view and I don't think we would stay in a pool view again purely because the noise was loud on party days and we like a daytime nap so a room at the back would have been fine. All the public spaces are SPOTLESS and the staff work really hard to maintain it. Which brings me to the real stars of the resort - the staff. All the staff we encountered were friendly and respectful but some really went out of their way to make our trip special, Faustino in the casino, Natacha, Joanna, Charleny and Deborah in the Wink bar were always 5* service and the friendliest security ever Roberto - all fantastic members of staff. Our concierge Janna was very helpful. We would return 100% and the only change we would make is to stay on the garden side, everything else was fabulous.

A wonderful week away.
We visited Jan 14-21 and stayed in Xhale room 4159. Our check in went smoothly and we were escorted to our room by Alexander our concierge. Alexander was very attentive during our visit and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Unfortunately we had one issue in a restaurant but this was handled quickly by Gregory and we were very satisfied. Jennifer and Maria anticipated our needs at the main pool and Franz on the beach when we rented Oasis was fantastic! Everyone we met was helpful, cheerful and friendly. We would definitely recommend this resort.

First Trip to the Domincan Republic was beyond our expectations!
This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic having been to Mexico approximately twenty times and Cuba twice. We went to Breathless in Punta Cana having completed extensive reviews through Trip Advisor on the different resorts in the area. The vacation was beyond our expectations as the positive reviews of Breathless were bang on. Great resort! Staff were very friendly and curteous. The food was excellent and the grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The beach was one of the best we have encountered on all of our trips. We will definately return to the Dominican Republic.

Fantastic resort!
Our experience at Breathless was amazing! Food was great, drinks were strong and the resort was top notch. The resort was very clean and housekeeping was phenomenal!
