Nice hotel, food is a no
This hotel is just good looks and the food was not good, only one restrutant was okay. Even the speciality resturants you can't dine at them if you don't get two nights and they suppoesdly get booked fast but yet they were mostly empty at dinner time
Barcelo Karmina 8 Days
Expect mediocre food quality, as a Premium Level Member we were disappointed with few restaurant selections. Good Quality Drinks Rooms required upgrade maintenance especially with worn fixtures in restrooms
The rooms are very spacious with a step down area with a couch, chair, and table with four chairs. There are two TV’s in the room, one you can watch from the bed, the other from the couch. There is a balcony with a table and two chairs. The bathroom is very specious with two sinks, a bathtub and a shower. Plenty of storage space and two closets. There is a coffee maker and a mini fridge. The resort is all inclusive including the mini bar restocked every day. The breakfast is a buffet at two different locations, one by the Japanese restaurant and the other in the Italian restaurant. Lunch is the same, buffet at both locations. Depending on how many nights you stay, you will get a voucher to make dinner reservations at one if three restaurants, Japanese, Italian, or Mexican. Otherwise, it is back to the buffet by the Japanese restaurant. You need to your dinner reservations right away as they fill up fast. There is also a snack shack by the kids pool that serves nachos, hamburgers, and hotdogs. The problem is you can not take the food back to your chaise by the pool to enjoy. The food at the snack shack definitely needs improvement. There is a waiter that will bring you drinks by the pool. We found the Mexican restaurant to be our favorite for dinner. We also enjoyed the spa services and had a massage one day and a facial the next. Prices were very reasonable. They have separate women’s and men’s locker rooms. There is a steam room, showers and toilets in each. They have soap and shampoo and a hair dryer, but no brushes or hair conditioner. The resort has a private beach but it looked very rocky to swim in. There is an adult pool and a family pool. Each night there is entertainment but we found it started too late to enjoy. Golf is nearby. The town would be too far to walk to, so you would need to take a taxi. We found the resort to be relaxing and very lovely. Enjoy!
My husband, our friends and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay! The staff is so kind, our room was beautiful from the 6th floor, premium level. Gorgeous ocean/pool view! The food was so of the best I've ever tasted!
Had a good time at this resort! Great food, great service and nice scenery. The only disappointment was the whirlpool. It was barely functioning as a whirlpool. It was one of the adults only areas (there were a lot of children at this resort) and it barely bubbled. The service was excellent as it usually is at the Barcelo' resorts. I thought the food at this resort was better than the other 3 Barcelo' resorts I have stayed at. I don't speak much Spanish and Barcelo' makes a good effort to hire bi-lingual staff. Almost everyone you need to interact with speaks Spanish and English. I traveled from 10-12-19 to 10-19-19 and encountered only a few visitors who spoke English as a primary language. I always pay for the premium level upgrade. The rooms are always on upper floors for a good view and less neighbors. I drink Captain Morgan Rum which is considered premium booze and is included in the upgrade. It includes Wifi which is $10-$15 a day without the upgrade and it includes 24 hour room service . The menu is decent but does not include booze. Booze to your room is extra except for the 4 cans of beer per day in your mini fridge and the bottle of tequila when you check in. GReat time, Barcelo' Resorts are always a perfect getaway.
