Avoid at all costs! If 0 out of 5 was an option i would choose this.
Hotel, which has a great beach, great swimming facilities and thats the positives done. The wife and i had a horrible experience at this hotel and i would recommend anyone looking at this hotel, to carry on scrolling and stay elsewhere. Found the staff very rude. Some were nice (these could be counted on one hand). They walk around and speak about you, and they are so obvious doing it. There is a lady at the sports bar who is very aggressive in her tone. The hotel manager in our section was unhelpful and it often felt like we were making things difficult for her so we stopped asking her for anything. I tried to log a call to say the cleaner had forgotten to top up our water bottles, which was fine, but when i asked if the person on the other end spoke english the response was NO! (Twice, and in a rude tone), She then called back and spoke English at which point my partner had left to go get the water ourselves. We then were being harassed by the same person on the phone (in the mornings, at night) and it was the same person who couldn't speak English. The food is the worst i have ever eaten in the whole world (i do not have enough time to review every restaurant) what i can say is, each restaurant makes you feel sick, some smell more than others, and some arent even clean. If the handwash runs out in the toilets, you had to request this and seek it yourself. This hotel felt like it wanted to tick more boxes from a numbers/stats perspective rather than doing simple things well. Its not 5 star, its not a 4 star, its probably a really bad 3 star. I was ill for 4 days and the wife was ill after the first meal. We paid extra so that we can eat at the adults only, and we even went to the hard rock hotel on the basis that we might move. At check out they didn't even ask how our stay was. Which is fine by me because at that point i just wanted to leave. I'm not planning on returning any time soon even if someone comped me a room and i would hate to hear someone i knew stay at the same place.
My stay was great, had a great time. The resort has very kind and friendly staff. Great facilities, great restaurants and very good entertainment. This time was second stay and would go back again. I always recommend it.
The big hotel of punta cana
I would like to stay in this hotel because no metter your age they have different places to you stay accourding what you like. Everything is good in Barcelo Bavaro Palace we (my couple and i) recomment this hotel 100% and we like to go again.
Great Vacation with Family
Just returned from my week vacation with a family of 20 people and I loved the resort as well as everyone else in our group. I’m giving it 4 stars because I wish they would have more entertainment at night besides the night show at 10pm and the disco. They could have more interactive shows, couples competitions or comedy shows, and because of this lack of night entertainment I give it 4 stars. However, everything else we found great. The resort is huge, but even though we booked the superior rooms which are by the golf area, it only took us Max 10 min walk from our room to the beach area. If anyone thinks that’s a long walk, they have obviously not walked much in their lives. However, there is a little train that goes all around the resort and passes by around every 10 min. The pools are huge, they never felt crowded and they do a good job at maintaining their cleanliness. The beach as well, at night time there seems to be seaweed accumulated but in the morning the workers clear everything up and you get to enjoy the clean beach. Renting of the non motorized water sports was very simple and did not require advanced reservation which we really liked. The buffet I keep reading reviews on how the food was bland but I have to disagree with them. Everyday they had different options for dinner and I found it to have a good variety. I’m Hispanic so maybe I’m used to their seasoning but I really liked the food. The restaurants at night my favorite was the Japanese. Amazing service and the food was amazing. I also really enjoyed the Spanish restaurant and the Steakhouse. The seafood wasn’t bad but the lobster was not properly cooked. A couple from my group went to the Italian and they really enjoyed it as well. Overall, I have nothing but good comments about the food. The sports bar is open 24/7 so even when the buffet was closed you could always find something to eat there. El Hoyo 19 which was near our room was also good and we had breakfast there one day a la carte. Drinks were alright in the pool bar, it depended on who prepared it for you. They don’t all prepare it the same and some bartenders were better than others. I did find the bar at the casino to have really good drinks. WiFi is not free, unless you’re in the casino lobby so go there if you need to connect with the world. The bedrooms were really nice, clean and modern. We had a beautiful view of the lake and gold field. I never had a problem communicating because I speak Spanish , and everyone was nice. I did read that some people had language barriers and while I do believe the staff should know some basic English, you also need to know you’re in a Spanish country where they don’t teach English in schools. When I go to foreign countries I go prepared to know there will be language barriers. Just be kind they work a lot, and kind words can go long ways. Also, tipping goes a long way. Just like in the US these employees deserve to be tipped if they do a good service. All inclusive does not mean they get paid good salaries. $1-$2 goes a long way. We also did the Saona Island Tour and the buggie Adventure and from the Two even though Saona was very pretty we loved the Buggies. The hotel is also very safe, and with the latest cases on the news do not focus on that. Hundreds of tourists go to Punta Cana every weekend and nothing happens. The usual sickness and casualties happen everywhere, media just doesn’t focus on it. Be aware of your surroundings always of course, you are in a foreign country after all, but overall enjoy yourself. If you have a positive attitude you will have a great time.
There were over 60 people at this resort for a family wedding. The resort is very nice and very big. Everyone had a great time but I don't think the resort did anything special for such a large booking. The bride and groom had to be moved because they got a first floor room with no view, even though they upgraded to premium and were responsible for all of us booking this resort. The bars are great and most of the bartenders are good. The specialty restaurants were good but the buffet food is bland and cold. Never had warm food except for an omelet in the morning. One of the perks of premium level was being able to make reservations before you got there. I did send an email for reservations and was told I had to wait until check in. I sent another email reminding them that I paid for premium level and its perks and they agreed to honor my requests. The premium level bar really isn't a bar just a room with table service. Not my idea of premium liquor. Our ocean front room, also part of the premium level was nice but not sure it was worth the extra fees. The resort put us in building 3 and the rest of the wedding guests in 5. When we asked to move they said nothing was available that day and if we waited a day we might be able to move but would not get a king bed because there were none in building 5. We found out later that was not true. This resort was nice, pretty beach and grounds and the wedding and reception were lovely. Just don't think it was worth the costs. This is the time when the Dominican was getting such bad press. We experienced no problems.
