Dec 05, 2024Barcelo Huatulco Is Perfect For Us
The Barcelo Huatulco resort is a very well managed and high quality facility. The entire resort is spotless, the food is excellent, the staff are very friendly, the beach is beautiful, entertainment is special and the atmosphere is happy. As a couple, this was our first time here, and this resort checked every box. We loved the Thanksgiving dinner out on the open area and we met many special staff members like Herman at the lobby bar, Monica the duty manager, Marguerita Garcia at the pool and many others. Also, Abraham and "Bob" the harris hawk who works hard to keep the birds away from the open areas was a real hit. We were feeling right at home in paradise with so many great people and this is now our go to place in the future. See you soon.

Our 2nd time to Barcelo Huatulco in November 2016 first being last Nov. We began coming here to avoid spotty weather in Riviera Maya in Nov. Nothing but sun again and we love the resort when its not really busy. Not super fancy but great staff and very clean. Any concerns (and there always is something for my fusspot wife) were dealt with promptly and with a smile. Great beach and beautiful view made hanging at the sea sooo good tho shadey spots disappeared quickly. Pools were clean and nice n cool which was welcome when you get too hot.Buffets were ok with highlite being the fresh grill at the seaside. A la Carte dining was lacking with cold or overcooked being normal even tho the waiters seemed to be running their butts off. Strangely the little sushi place was good both times visited which is a first after visiting six all-inclusives. One more topic before closing and that is the house band who plays in the lobby/lounge and for the nightly shows. A couple of very nice voices and good players but how about controlling the volume! I'm in a weekend rock band and love to turn up but on vacation sipping drinks in a lounge would like to talk without raising my voice. One more music note(pun) how about playing some music for Canadians at poolside maybe "happy hour" 4-6 with hits of 70s,80s and 90s. All in all an enjoyable week was had and we will be back thank you Barcelo!

Excellent vacation
Please keep transportation at a moderate price because several people complained about the high prices of taxi drivers and they charge based on the person's appearance, because they charge locals one price and tourists another price and that is not fair, because eventually they realize and that is discriminating against tourism, which is what sustains the businesses of that area.

Great Vacation
Definitely recommend staff extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were large, bedding and pillows were comfy and the shower was great with lots of hot water and good water pressure.

Quality of food was below our standard. Italian would be the only one that was okay. Lack of other types of restaurants on site. Went off site to get better food. Drinks were not premium as advertised. Poor evening shows in theatre. Same entertainers each night, just a different theme. Overall the resort is very nice, well maintained and clean. Staff try to be very accommodating but there are very few amenities in this resort Cater to more of the local nationals. All of the international crowd we met were of the same opinion on the quality of food.
