92/100
We really enjoyed our stay. The grounds and buildings are beautiful. The Citrus Club was a nice bonus, especially for a romantic getaway as it is adult only. The spa is beautiful, and their services there really hit the spot. The brunch at McArthur’s is not to be missed. We played pickleball while there, too. The only “down spot” was our room. While the appointments were nice and it was spacious, it was not ready until after 3pm so we had to leave our bags on the floor in the Citrus Club. It was also lacking in sound deadening- we could hear so much noise from the neighbor next door, and the bathroom door situation is odd: three doors all open on to themselves. Our request for a late checkout was also denied despite the hotel seemingly not being very packed.

Top notch resort experience
The Biltmore knows how to do it. From start to finish our stay was exceptional. We were very impressed with Brendan, the tennis professional. He was amazing and we gained so much from our time on the court with him. We loved our room that had a patio and a fire pit. The citrus club is absolutely worth the upgrade. Our dining on the property was inconsistent. There are a variety of pools that are different temperatures and we really love that. We will absolutely return to this resort.

Missed the Mark
I’m genuinely disappointed by how far the Biltmore seems to have drifted from its reputation for luxury and customer service. While the beds are excellent, that is unfortunately the only positive takeaway from my stay. The room service was extremely underwhelming, particularly given the price point. I also booked a daybed through ResortPass while staying at the hotel. The daybed was advertised as including fruit and bottled water, neither of which were provided. When I raised the issue, I was told those amenities are “summer only.” The hotel removed $50 from the bill, which felt almost dismissive considering the experience was misrepresented. Advertising amenities that are not honored and then offering a minimal credit only reinforces how much the service standard has slipped. This experience highlights a broader issue: the Biltmore has missed the mark on customer service, especially for a property that positions itself as luxury. At this point, it’s telling that they hold no Michelin Keys. Thankfully, Phoenix now has several truly luxury, guest-focused properties, including The Global Ambassador and The Phoenician, that deliver consistently at this level. Do not be swayed by the history alone. As a local, it genuinely pains me to write this, but nostalgia cannot compensate for poor service and disappointing food quality. I sincerely hope the Biltmore brings in leadership to overhaul both its culinary program and its approach to customer service, because in its current state, it falls far short of expectations.

Great tennis instruction!
Booked a tennis drill with Brendan but ended up as the only participant and a private lesson, which was amazing! Brendan is so kind and personable, which made a huge difference in my comfort level. He worked with me on my backhand volley and helped me improve it dramatically. Super positive and encouraging! Really great experience!

Not a 5 star
Not sure I would call this a “5” star hotel. More like a 4 star with having to request turn down, no plush towels and very small bathrooms in the suite. We had to load our own bags into the car as the valet just watched us and didn’t ask to assist. No complimentary coffee in the morning like most 5 star hotels. Fire alarm went off at 11 pm for 19 minutes as a false alarm. No explanation or apology. Property is nice but very spread out. Common areas are as expected. Ordered room service and no plates were sent with the just served in a cardboard box with no utensils which I thought was odd. Nice pool and gym. They did offer a complimentary upgrade but when I received the bill I was charged for the upgrade so had to call and dispute.
