Would not stay here again.
No I would not stay here again we had stopped coming here 15 years ago but some friends were staying here so we tried it again but it was not good especially the food not even breakfast was good even the french fries were cold
Clean and beautifully kept resort with a friendly and accomodating staff. Most rooms are just a short walk from the long and sandy beach. We didn't need water shoes! Water was clear, calm and great for snorkeling!
Cozumel 2019 with the family
The staff is over the top friendly. The bartenders are the best. The food is amazing. The Fuji and Italian was amazing. The AC was super cold and just the way I like it. The beach is super clean and the snorkeling at the resort is really good. The day time entertainment was lots of fun and the night time entertainment was very good too.
I wish I had more time to write all of the details, but overall my husband and I had an an EXCELLENT stay. I strongly recommend this place. STAFF AND TIPS: The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Please tip; these people work hard in hot weather to bring us a good experience, and somehow they do it with a smile when I would be fainting in those uniforms. Factor this into your budget before the trip and bring enough small bills because I’ll tell you: the wonderful people who helped us on this trip deserved every dollar we gave them. The people really “made” the trip. FOR DIVERS: We had a great time. Regarding other people’s reviews of diving, please note that the various dive companies ARE NOT OWNED BY THE HOTEL. Do NOT make your decision about where to stay based on diving reviews, because you can stay at this hotel and dive with whatever company you want. Research dive companies separately. That being said, we had an overall great experience with the dive shop that is physically located at the edge of the resort which is called Pro Dive International. The Amstar representative who sells tours is also NOT technically part of the resort and has their own company whom they’ll recommend you book with called Dive Palancar. There are plenty of other dive companies around too which offer pick-up at the dock even though they don’t have a physical presence at the resort. ALSO FOR DIVERS: The Ultimate Dive Experience is a fancy name for access to a couple of extra services and discounts, and it WAS worth it for my husband and I. It doesn’t really have anything to do with diving, per se since the hotel doesn’t own a dive company, except that the Santa Rosa Lounge comes in very handy because of its hours. The little breakfast buffet there opens earlier than the main breakfast restaurant so you can get a small breakfast and digest it before you start trying to dive. Also, if you are doing a night dive then the lounge saves the day because it offers snacks from I think 4-6pm. All other restaurants at the resort are closed for most of the window of time right before the night dive. The lounge and the small exclusive pool are also off to one side right at the beach and the rooms for persons with this package are all located within a little group of buildings right next to them. There is also a little office for check-in for Premium Guests (you, if you have this package) and there are two computers in there with internet access that are available from 9am to 5pm. I thought it was really nice to be so close to the lounge and beach.
So you want to go Scuba Diving In an Aquarium...
We were at this spot 21 years ago on our honeymoon. Came back to introduce our kid to some of the best scuba diving we've seen. Same thatched roofs, hammocks, and very friendly/helpful staff, same beautiful beach, and most importantly close to the best dive spots. The room was neat and clean, the fridge was stocked with drinks, the air conditioner blew super cold! We got the premium bracelet which was a nice plus for the premium room/pool/beach section. Small breakfast in the morning, and self serve bar in the afternoon. The Allegro lets cruise ship folks and day pass people in, so this is a quieter spot, but don't get me wrong, the visitors can make the place more fun. (a very hip quincenera happened one day!) The daily activities were cool, the shows were cool, Pro Dive was cool, meeting other guests was cool. Daisy and Margarita at the Fish Spa... so worth it! We rented a jeep from Mex Rent across the street, Alex was cool, fair, and clear in explaining so as to alleviate fears of getting ripped off. (good price to boot) The Coconut Hut across the street is worth a visit! Cold coconut (with rum if you want it). The food was the only thing I heard people complain about... But whatever, I dug it. We had no problemos getting reservations to the restaurants, the Mexican rest. was good but hot, the Italian and Oriental are both good and air conditioned. Good Times.
