Great Beach!
weddingtwins, Brantford

Our room was updated and wonderful....modern looking with a very large balcony. The beach was awesome and the pool is just a short walk from the beach which is nice as we were with a group, so we're able to be close to everyone. The front lobby is a fun place at night with lots of people there...I also liked that the entertainment and lobby and restaurants were all up at one end of the resort. Bowling was fun as well as the casino! More>

We booked here for 2 weeks through Thomson after the hotel we wanted was fully booked, we figured it wouldn't be as bad as the reviews on here and kept an open mind. The grounds of the hotel are well maintained but they are starting a lot of building work around the lobby and buffet restaurants. The beach is very poor, the loungers are very dated and there is very little shade, there is a lot of seaweed which is natural but the other hotels in the area seem to deal with it much better. The pool area is better but suffers from a lot of people reserving beds, some days the security guards removed them some days they ignored it, the pool was clean enough but has patches of damage and tiles missing, the pool was always warm and just got warmer as the day went on so not as refreshing as it could of been. Food is ok, we went to the buffet for all our meals up until the first Saturday when it was incredibly busy, a lot of dishes were empty and took a long time to be refilled, most tables were taken or empty and you had to find an empty table and wait for cutlery to arrive, if you managed to get drinks before you started your meal you were lucky. The a la carte restaurants were much better for quality and service but often busy. Bar service was good in the main lobby bar even during busy times, if you sat at the bar you would be passed a new drink before you were finished your old one, definitely the best staff in the hotel. The entertainment was ok but you had to go and find it if you wanted to be involved and nothing was advertised very well other than the boards at the theatre and beach. The worst part of this hotel has to be the high pressure h10 timeshare / holiday package, you are pressurised into attending a no obligation special breakfast which turns into a normal breakfast (still didn't get a coffee) whilst being watched by a sales person, after that you are shown a privilege suite (same as normal room with an additional room and kitchen) and then you sit in an office where you are probed about your income and how much you spend on holidays and how much they can save you, it starts off costing you £40,000 then £10,000 and finally £2,000 so for me it stinks of a scam, when we made our excuses to leave the sales person got extremely angry and started saying we could break an arm in the next week? After that we were still approached by the yellow shirts every day. Overall we were extremely disappointed, the weather was the best part of this holiday and it's the first time we've looked forward to going home. It's definitely not a 4 star + experience. More>

Excellent holiday

We had a really wonderful time on holiday. inwas slightly apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but there really wasn't snything to worry about. Food: excellent. Buffet restuarsnt was extensive with lots of variety and was running on a 7 day rotation of themed nights. There was a good amount of choice of the A-la carte restaurants, the Mexican was our favourite. you did however need to get down early any later than 7.30 you would be waiting a good couple of hours for a table. Pool: we layed by the quite pool and never had any problem finding a sun bed with an umbrella. Pool was large and cleaned daily however too much chlorine in the water caused my bikinis to have a highlighter green tinge to them. Beach: unfortunately had lots of sea weed. We ventured in some afternoons and once past the sea weed was very lovely. The hotel employed people to cleanup the sea weed daily but they were fighting a losing battle- it's impossible to clear it. Room: large, comfy beds and very clean. We were in block 7 and we were really happy with this location. Half way between restaurants and the pool. Wifi was also available throughout thr resort. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves on this holiday. Definitely worth the money we paid. We would have enjoyed it more however if there was more selection of gluten free food available! More>

Room was ready on time. The place is clean. Swimming pool is huge and very nice with 2 bars. Food is great. My best pick is the Japanese restaurant. Special thanks to Elvin Gil and Hansel for their great service. Yes, there is still stuff on the beach but it is getting clean early in the morning. More>

Great place

I was there in April 2015 with my mom and we had a great time. The staff is friendly, the food is very good, the swimming pool is amazing and the beach is absolutely stunning. There are many activities such as bowling, disco, shows, games by the pool and about 8 restaurants. I didn't want to do much, so I just relaxed on the beach and had some drinks. The only 2 things I didn't like were the vendors who were there twice on the week and insisted that we took a look at their stuff, even when we said we were not interested, and, because it's an all inclusive hotel, some guests that had too much to drink and were a bit inconvenient. Apart from that, my mom and I had a really good time. More>
