The hotel staff at live aqua were amazing,happy, always willing to please. We have stayed at a few different all inclusive that were larger and much more elaborate to view but nothing even comes close to the service at live aqua. We even watched a "staff training day" where the bartenders, servers,life gaurds, chefs, were all out exercising & learning life saving techniques in both the ocean & the pools. Very interesting to see how important is was for them to keep their visitors safe. My husband split a toe open on a pool chair (very minor) quickly a MEDIC showed up out of nowhere to clean out the very minor wound then bandaged it!! Over the top service all around. The service at the entire place was prompt and top notch.

Stayed for a week at this resort in Cancun. This is an adults only, all inclusive. Beautiful resort with 5 pools. All heated different temps, but felt so good. Love the heated pool aspect of it. Stayed for a week at this resort in Cancun. This is an adults only, all inclusive. Beautiful resort with 5 pools. All heated different temps, but felt so good. Love the heated pool aspect of it. The food here was excellent. 4 restaurants to choose from. 3 of them had small menus, but everything we tried was good. One restaurant, Siete, is actually two restaurants, Mexican alacarte, and buffet on other side with pasta bar and many more items to pick from. Had breakfast and supper there quite a few time and everything was so good. Would have had no problem eating there every night, because you could have had something different each night. The only cons of this resort is the aeromotherapy in the lobbies. Had a very nasty smell to it. I would have rathered just smelled the outside air coming in. And the quality of drinks were not good. Seemed to be watered down, even the pop out of the bottles. And sometimes the beer was warm. Those were the only two things we had problems with. We would definitely have no problem staying here again in the future.

The hotel is very elegant...lobby is grand with waterfalls and pools. The hotel has 8 different pools with varying degrees of temperatures in each. You must get out early to get an umbrella...there are plenty on around the pools and a lot on the beach, but are all taken by 10am or before. Food wa .. More>

The hotel is very elegant...lobby is grand with waterfalls and pools. The hotel has 8 different pools with varying degrees of temperatures in each. You must get out early to get an umbrella...there are plenty on around the pools and a lot on the beach, but are all taken by 10am or before. Food was fantastic. Service was phenomonal. Hotel was very, very clean. Only one complaint is the noise. Guests slam their doors on a regular basis to the point that the walls actually shake. Beach was nice, but as usual water is rough. Life guards on duty most of the time. Our room was spacious with a small sitting area. We had room service one night and it was very good. We especially enjoyed the buffet breakfast daily in Siete. The two sit down restaurants accept no reservations so you do have to wait at times. But the bar is always great. They serve top name brands. I had a Bailey's on ice and my husband had Johnny Walker Red quite often. Take the bus into town for the flea markets and silver. The bus is less then $1 each way. Book it you won't regret it.

We have stayed at 8-9 other all inclusive resorts in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area. All we have to say about our stay at Live Aqua is EXCEPTIONAL. The hotel facilities and grounds are clean, beautiful, and smell like a spa. The pools and jacuzzi are heated to various temperatures which is fantastic for the cool season in Mexico. The food is good, plentiful and provides enough choices for any palate. What truly sets this resort apart from others is the service. The staff is friendly, helpful, and happy to serve. The management is visible and active in ensuring that everything at the resort is top notch. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Live Aqua for giving us a stay we will not forget. We can not wait to return.

overall, we liked the hotel but were disappointed that there was very little mexican culture and zero entertainment at the hotel. We understand that we were there during the off season and there may be limited hours at restaurants etc BUT the hotel staff did not notify us of the restaurants' modif .. More>

Also, there were ants in our bathroom. Staff went out of their way to be difficult about providing change to tip the waiters at restaurants.

This was an excellent resort to stay at if you are looking for a relaxing location and beautiful facilities. The staff, every single one, was as nice as they could be and their primary goal was making sure we had a great stay. Food at restaurants was excellent and pools and beach were beautiful! .. More>

Let us start this review by mentioning we really, really wish we were giving this a 5 star review. Like everyone on this site, we read the Tripadvisor reviews and we were anxiously counting down to our romantic, peaceful getaway where we would lay out and eat great food. While we had a great time we are here with a 3 (and ½) star review. Check in: ?Ugh?. That?s the sound we continuously made. We arrived around 3 pm and were told we had a room with 2 double beds. We showed the front desk lady our receipt saying King Bed. She stated it wasn?t valid because it was from Hotwire.com and that king beds are a special request that isn?t always accommodated. We informed her we needed the king we ordered and we were eventually given it?..at 6 pm. Room: After being ?homeless? for 3 hours we went to our room which was great. An Oceanfront room on the 3rd floor, on the ?side? where the hotel angles. People said in reviews to ask for high, we would say off to the side where it?s quieter. We did have an ant problem in our room though. Food: Overall, we liked the food but there just weren?t enough options. Siete: We had breakfast here everyday and really enjoyed it. We also, had lunch once which was great and dinner another time which was pretty good. (for an upset stomach or hangover try the chicken broth that you drink!). Sushi: We are big fans of sushi and we really enjoyed having a sushi snack as an appetizer everyday. The fish was fresh and delicious. The only issue was there wasn?t a menu or a list of what rolls they offered that day. Every time I asked, they would look at me like they had never been asked that question before. Azur: We really enjoyed Azur, especially for lunch. The Tuna Tarter and Ceviche was great, as was our waiter Angel at dinner. The view outside for lunch was amazing. But after eating there for lunch twice and dinner twice we had had enough. MB: What a disappointment. The ambiance is fantastic and we had high hopes for it. Our steaks were terrible night one and we tried it again for dinner a few nights later but it was another dud. If you sit outside, wear bug spray, our legs were bitten up by what we think were mosquitoes, but not sure. Egos: We loved this place to have drinks after dinner and dancing out on the balcony! Drinks: We didn?t think the drinks were watered down at all. We are wine drinkers and although the room service menu had about 8 types of red but we were given the same 2 red wine options every night which was very disappointing, even when we requested something different. Beach: This was great. Water was warm. We witnessed lifeguards having to do a rescue and while it wasn?t quite ?Baywatch? they pulled the man out of the water safely. We think it was more the swimmer than the current. He was in his 60?s and obese, swimming farther out than he should have. Pool: The pool is beautiful as you see from the pictures but as you?ve probably read, you have to play the ?towel game?. Head down to the pool early and leave a towel there to get a good seat. The annoying part is people put towels on a chair at 7 am and don?t go to the pool until noon or later. This should not be allowed. The pools were great until early afternoon and then the loudness begins (see crowd). Safety: Having heard bad things about Mexico we weren?t sure what to expect but felt completely safe whether it was taking long walks on the beach or going across the street to the mall. Spa: Great couples massage (they do that if you ask) but the process with the sauna's was very rushed adn the opposite of relaxing. Crowd: This was the most disappointing part. The hotel promotes itself as an adult?s only relaxation resort. That?s part of it, and the best part. The problem is it?s also a party resort for some people. Everyday it seems there was a new group of obnoxious Americans arriving (we?re American by the way). They would have some drinks and then scream ?Woohoo? every five minutes starting in the afternoon and lasting all night even in the hallways. They must live in dry towns in the US b/c no one seemed to be able to handle their booze. In addition, there were two conferences which made restaurants and pool crowded at times and took away from the romanticism. And we felt that the restaurants catered more toward the conference people then regular guests. To sum it up, is Live Aqua a relaxation resort? A party place? A conference center? Unfortunately, it?s all of the above.

Just returned from a 7 day stay from 5/1-5/8 at Live Aqua, and overall, I was very happy with the stay. Hotel: hotel itself is beautiful on the outside, but nothing too extravagant. Has many pools, most of which we did not visit, because the beach was so beautiful. Visited the jacuzzi and somehow got a huge laceration in it, which was taken care of promptly by the nice staff. Room: initially, we got a 'garden view' room, which was really depressing and had no view of any garden, just an empty construction site. My suggestion is do not stay in this type of room, as it will dampen your experience a bit. Otherwise, the rooms are pretty, but noise can be heard throughout the hallways if the persons are too loud. Restaurants: the only meal we did not like was at MB- the NY strip steak was of lower quality than the steak at Applebee's/TGIFs! It was full of fat, cooked rare when asked for medium, and had absolutely no flavor. The lamb chops were full of blood when brought, but were quite tasty when asked to recook at very well done... otherwise, all the meals were awesome, especially breakfast at Siete, lunch at Azur, dinner at Azur! Service: everyone was really nice, but beware, if you do not tip, you may not get great service. We tipped intermittently, which gave us intermittent service, haha.. but otherwise, no one will ask you for a tip, but the workers are very hard working. Proximity to other attractions: not close to downtown Cancun, but is close to the public bus which can take you there. There is no nightlife at Live Aqua, so you will have to venture off elsewhere to find that. Luckily, every night, the entertainment staff (melissa) will take you to a preplanned night venue of their choice, for which you will get a ride there. Overall, a great experience, but can use improvements.

Ricardo from beach side service was the best!!! Very smiley, and worked hard without expecting tips. Very sincere in his work. Also, Ramon from Azur was amazing service.. Claudia from front desk was very pleasant and welcomed us with grace. The activities were fun too. This hotel exceeding my expectations beyond. Better than any "Ritz or Westin." highly recommended!!!!!

We recently spent a week at Live Aqua celebrating our 20th anniversary. Truly an amazing resort! Impeccable service (Hayden, Santiago, Roger, Jose, Samuel, Patricia, Monica) just to name a few. These individuals made the trip/vacation such a pleasure. They provided great service and were so friendly. The food tasted wonderul and was served with such detail to presentation. Rooms were very clean and fresh. Looking forward to going back someday.
