Our vacation was great! With the exception of my husband getting hurt the second day we were there, Iberostar Rose Hall Suites is at the top of our all time favorite all inclusive resort! The resort was clean, the staff was excellent, and the food was the best we've had. The buffet was great, but the Speciality restaurants were even better. The Italian was our favorite, then Mediterranean, Gourmet, then the Steak house. The entertainment was fun and involved everyone. Cleo (OMG!) is the best director! She's funny, so personable and made it all so fun!! The wait staff work so hard and are so efficient it just amazed us. This was one of our better picks for a Resort! We love to try new places but would return here in a heartbeat!!

I was upgraded to the Iberostar Grand. The resort is awesome. My favorite people was Moises Del Villarreal (the hardest working man at resort). I also was very impressed with Sue Tanya the server working the floor in lobby bar. She was great. The standouts at the pool and entertainment was Vanessa and Thunder. Clive and the other bartenders were good also. The lady who took care of our room as the best. We were in room 632?

I do think there are opportunities with the Apple rep at hotel. The accuracy of excursions need improvement. My 12 year old was with and I was told what I chose was fine for him (cools running). However, there were females there with things and their entire butts hanging out. Additionally the bus driver allowed music to be played word profanity. It was not family oriented as I was told.

We stayed for a week, was the first time in Jamaica and could not have asked for a better resort. The grounds were perfect, the view spectacular, staff was extremely friendly and on top of things. Food for an all inclusive was great, best all inclusive we have done. Cannot wait to go back with our kids next time.

My daughter's wedding

There were several thing that we have issue with. My daughter was told she would get all her wedding photos on a CD with the addition of 24 prints. When it was all said and done they withheld most of her photos with the exception of the 24 photos printed. There was an issue with the tent for the reception which she was told by her agent was included and turned out it was not. They had to come up with almost $2000. For a tent, which they wanted cash for. Really disappointed with those two situations.

Threatened to Kick my Wife out over a miscommunication!
Mike L, Toronto
Thu Jan 11 10:58:28 EST 2018
My Wife and I stayed here in October. While I was away for the day doing business, and after confirming with the staff that morning that my credit card was on file to take care of the rest of my trip. The Front desk repeatedly harassed my pregnant wife all day, threatening to have security kick her out of the hotel because they could not locate my credit card information (as if we were going to dash on our bill.) The food was sub-par, but I am sure it is suitable for the typical tourist for it is "Jamaican fare." I feel bad because there are some genuinely good staff but the way the front desk staff (Angry women) made us feel, we will never go back. I feel like we completely wasted our money for a very sub par experience, and came away feeling like criminals. Mike Also the Beach is very small.

Its Very Average for the Luxury Class. Hotel is Really Struggling

Just don’t expect it to be great. I’m staying here now in a Family Suite which is much more expensive and I am a Return Guest. Yet my requests are being blown off. Guest services doesn’t follow up. Service is largely poor here overall save for the 10% that seemed to be trained well to be attentive. Food is very average too. The Specialty Restaurants do not require an up-charge which is nice. Italian Restaurant is head and shoulders above the rest although we didn’t try Calabash (you need slacks there). The rest were mostly just a buffet with a made to order entree. At the regular buffet they did Jamaican food wonderfully. The rest of the foods were very bland and not well thought out; just slapped together. Beach service was weak; I had to go myself to fetch most of our drinks. They offer a “Prestige Package for $30pp/day. For three days it was with it because we all got a free 50-minute Swedish massage. For the rest of that package we had to high Guest Services to deliver. Spa is outdated and not well attended. Roman baths and whirlpool temperatures were all off. Steam room was a lobster bake. Spa clothes are not personalized at all. Massage itself was fantastic. Check in is a disaster as others have noted; poorly trained which is typical throughout. We would not return. Have been to Grand and would recommend that one at least last time we were here we liked it.

Stunning views and excellent dining

I stayed at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in August for a wedding. We booked two adjoining suites which was perfect for 3 adults and 2 kids. We were easily able to go from one suite to the next by an adjoining door. The rooms offered ocean views as well as views of the lazy river. The rooms were immaculate with jacuzzi tubs and standing showers and a decently sized balcony. The dined mostly at the Miranda Hill - Buffet which had a wide variety of offerings and provided local Jamaican food options (our favorite). There was freshly grilled lobster nightly (my other favorite). During the day, we would dine pool-side since there was usually entertainment on the sand. I visited Aunty Ruby - Buffet only once but was not a huge fan. The hotel is beautiful and customer service exceptional. The only issues that we had with the suites were: 1) long walks to get from one spot to another. This is generally the case with large hotels like this in Jamaica. As I get older, I tend to like shorter distances to get around; 2) Lack of signage by the elevators. I was one of several guests who mentioned getting lost trying to find their hotel rooms the first couple of nights. The suites are organized by Building Number + Floor Number. For example, you could have a room that says 3415 or 4415 but the first digit represents the building and not the floor. The fact that when you exit the elevators, there are no signs to tell you the Building or Floor numbers, the only thing you see are Room # signs. If you are not careful in entering the right building, you will easily end up in the wrong building searching for your room; 3) The beach entrance was quite rocky but I love the beach so it's not so much a complaint but it did hurt initially walking into the water due to the rockiness. Otherwise, it was a great experience with good food, good music, and good fun. My kids had a blast with the lazy river and pools.

Great family vacation - warm weather

This property was very well maintained. Room was spotless and all staff were friendly and helpful. I needed some assistance printing boarding pass. Young lady at customer service went above and beyond to help. Breakfast was fantastic. Lunch and dinner were good. We have never stayed at an all inclusive resort before. Very nice not needing to go anywhere or worry about money. We never left property. We also used the services of club mobay which was recommended by United Vacations. Made passing through airport and customs a breeze. Ocean was warmer than pool and we all enjoyed the snorkeling. Definitely worth a visit.

A little disappointed

First time with Iberostar but not the first time in Jamaica. My husband and I have visited Jamaica on three other occasions and have traveled to Punta Cana, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Hawaii. This occasion was a family vacation with 11 people. Although the Iberostar staff were extremely friendly, the resort was a little disappointing. First and foremost, there was no Jamaican or Carribean music playing either welcoming or throughout the resort during our stay. The only time was ONE day during the Jamaican BBQ lunch that there was steel drums playing. But that was only one of the three days they did the BBQ on the beach. But I can tell you that it was 100% more festive with the steel drums than not. Everyone was in the groove and happy. Would have been such a warm welcoming and added comfort had they played it throughout the grounds of the resort. Every other resort we have visited not only greets you with the steel drums but as you walk throughout the resort at any time of the day, the music just makes you smile and keeps you in the vacation mode. The other, and MORE IMPORTANT disappointment, was the lack of cleanliness on the beach. What a turnoff that dirty cups, dirty plates, and lounge chairs all over the place early in the morning. As with other resorts we have traveled, such as Melia, when you go to reserve your chair, even as early as 6:00am, the beach area has been cleaned and raked, perfectly. At this resort, it was very disappointing that this process did not begin until after 7:00 am, if at all. Also, they decided to replace eight of the thatched roofs on the beach cabana's during our stay which caused a lot of people who had reserved their spots earlier in the morning to only have been moved without knowing, looking aimlessly for a place to sit, of course, no additional cabana's were available at the beach or the pool by this time of the morning. This caused a lot of people to squeeze together with total strangers. Luckily the wind and rain the next two days prevented them from continuing with replacing the thatching. Or maybe they should have done it then since no one would have been inconvenienced. As others have reviewed, the pool is extremely cold and the "hot tub" outside was anything but "hot" In fact, as the staff said, "it never works and is never hot". Unfortunately, the only hot tubs to use were the ones inside the SPA but that meant INSIDE and no kids were allowed. Took the fun out of sitting in a spa with a few drinks to make the most of the day of rain. Our 17 and 14 year old were not allowed to join us because they don't allow kids in the spa area. The food at the buffet was extremely good. The Italian Rest. we ate at twice. The first time we enjoyed our meals which prompted us to schedule an additional night. What a mistake. There was, from what we were told, a different chef the second night and the food was terrible. The crispy focaccia was anything but Crispy. It was as if they just took the bread right from the package, no heating up or "crisping" up and then they put a dash of tomatoes, a slice of prosciutto, and chopped romaine NOT ARUGULA as the description noted. No oil or vinegar or any sauce of any kind--BLAH! The fettucini was cold even after they attempted to reheat it. The Osso Bucco was completely different than the first night--nothing but fat and the mushroom risotto was not creamy and silky like the first night, dry and firm the second night. Sorry to say, but the chef the second night needs some training. Housekeeping could use a little help too. In respecting the "green" environmental way, We respected their request and did not opt to have our room tidied everyday nor did we need our sheets or towels replaced everyday, however, on the days we put the "make room up" card on the door, it would have been nice to have had it done. One day, our room was pleasantly tidied up by 9:00am. Two days later, at 5:30pm, we returned to our room from a day at the beach to get ready for dinner, at noone had been to the room yet. I was able to get new towels since I had already placed all of our dirty towels in the tub as they requested. Our experience was much the same with other members or our party. In fact, my 84 year old mother said that when she returned to her room to get ready for dinner, Housekeeping was just finishing and the floor was totally saturated. They had put so much water on the floor to clean it that she was very concerned she was going to slip and it didn't dry out for some time. The coffee shop in the morning was exceptional but with a resort this size, having more than one person working it certainly is recommended. With everyone getting a shot of espresso or latte or cappuccino the line built up quickly. BUT the espresso coffee was fabulous. All being said, the eleven of us had a very nice time because of the friendly staff, but we will not be planning to return to Iberostar Rose Hall Suites.
