We went there mainly for golf and beach/pool. We have stayed there several times before and think golf course and pool one of the better ones in Rivera Maya area. It is family oriented and expect to find many children running around pool area. It provides basis rooms and food. Nothing extra fancy or above average food. It good price for what you generally pay with the golf extra unless stay in different section of resort for higher price. The golf course in extra condition with drinks and food included with price. The range is extra charge

at check in they are pushing you to up-grade and taking to much time to sell you on it..and after doing it you go to next level of hotel and have to wait again for them to check you in again..now on check out the wife bought a raft at pool store and charged it to room at check out I was paying cash for it the girl at the desk is telling me it is cheaper to put it on my charge card, after 10 minutes , for me to pay with cash I had to show my passport ( why ) it is required another 10 minutes, after that she says I have to go back to the original place of check in to check out almost missed our transportation back to airport we have stayed here 5 times before but will not be going back...

We upgraded to Lindo upon arrival. Very happy with the offer of pricing to upgrade. Service was stellar. Beautiful resort. Was not a fan at all of the evening shows. We visited the Del Mar/Beach pool a couple of days. That pool is huge, star friends were amazing. However, being this was a family vacation, I was not impressed with the actions of many of the guests in the pool. We decided to stay at our pool in the Lindo section. A couple of days we stayed on the beach, I was very happy to see staff removing towels from chairs after nobody appeared for a certain amount of time. Staff was great, everybody is really friendly. Few not so friendly wait-staff and bartender, but you never know what is going on in their life. The room was great, we were on the 3rd floor and it was fairly warm in the room, called tot he front desk and they cooled our room for our stay to 18. Being that we were there in late August, the temps were pretty hot, it was really nice to know we had a very cool room to sleep in. The food was pretty good. The only thing I would like to see change is that there is more variety at the buffets. The food was the same day after day.

This resort and vacation was absolutely wonderful. The pool was great – plenty of space for everyone, with one end being the more "entertained" part, and the other the quiet area. It was nice to have both options. The beach was beautiful – no complaints there. There were plenty of different foods to please everyone from different cultures – i always found something good to eat. The entire resort is beautifully landscaped and well-kept with a shuttle service every 5-10 minutes to give you a lift you weren't up to walking since it's a big resort. I will definitely return.

A fantastic experience! My husband and I usually cruise, but this year we were seeking a less expensive option. Apple Vacations offered the Iberostar at an incredible package deal and it didn't disappoint. The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and professional, the grounds and wildlife provide the much needed tranquility and natural experience we were seeking. The pools were incredible and the beach front was a bonus. The grounds are spectacular and if you enjoy walking it will bring you much joy. For those that prefer to ride electric golf carts are abundant. Beverages flowed and there were endless food options. There are restrictions on how many nights you can reserve the restaurants, but if there are openings you can dine every evening as we did. The food was good just not great. The rooms were very comfortable and I appreciated the endless towels available for the room, pool and beach. I've stayed at resorts in the past where fresh linens were an issue. Not at Iberostar. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely return. Likely this Christmas if we can get another best buy option.

We just got back from our vacation and I must say that the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar was an amazing place to stay. It was beautiful, clean and everyone was friendly and very helpful. I would definitely go back again!!

Tv, safe and the door look wasnt working. everytime we would try to get to our room we would have to go to front desk to ask them to oen the door. Finally they changed the lock on the doors and we had to wait 30 mins outside at 1:30 am in the morning. We did not get even a sorry from the hotel. At check -in we were suppose to get the hotel credit, and they did not offer it to us at all.

Everything about the place was very good. No problems with anything. I think the selection of the food could have been a little better. Not a lot of meat dishes or seafood. Cheese section would have been nice to have. The desserts were fabulous! Overall, I would come back again!

We found our resort to be overwhelming. It was so big that we were constantly getting lost and walking down the wrong path. We ended up in parts of the resort that we weren't supposed to be in because we didn't upgrade to the Superior side of the resort. We felt the walk to the lobby from our room and the to the beach from our room were way too long. We felt as if we needed a map every time we left our room. The beach was full of seaweed. There were mounds 5 feet high on the beach. There were 3 days of our 6 day vacation that we couldn't even stand to be in the water because the seaweed just kept wrapping around our bodies and legs. The food at the resort was ok for adults but I wish there were more options for kids. My 7 year old basically ate the same thing all week because she couldn't find anything she liked. I was expecting there to be chicken nuggets or macaroni and cheese at every buffet but never saw those options. The cocktails at the resort were also disappointing. The strawberry mix they used to flavor drinks was not very good which means we didn't like the strawberry daiquiris, strawberry margaritas or strawberry mojitos.

From the booking (since there was an apparent error in the booking according to the hotel staff) to the unavoidable seaweed filled beach.. which was an area of literally about 10-12 wide and a foot high across the entire length of The beach as far as the eye could see (which hotel staff claimed was typically for this time of the year and out of their control), this was our worst Cancun trip ever. We will never be staying at Iberostar anything since regular loss of electricity, no TV and faulty AC was the order of our 16 member trip. Other Apple vacation staff told me that my booking agent had not mad a “full disclosure” when I found out that I had to pay for baggage on Frontier… But the seats don’t even recline! What is more frontier staff told us that it is impossible for the 16 of us to sit together regardless of how the trip was booked why didn’t Apple vacations staff know that? And “all tips, gratuities, and taxes included”, the first speech we got the transportation people who made us wait an hour and a half to get to our destination in mind you was how they only live off of Tips and how important it was to tip them. The hotel told us that there is a new fee (which changed several times between $7 per room to $7 per person by the city of Cancun and that Apple vacations just doesn’t know about it). Lots of deceiving and misinformation. We are too busy for this type of nonsense. My family members are all writing letters to Apple vacations and Iberostar administration.. but we will still spend our $14,000 elsewhere next time!

My husband and I recently had our wedding at Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar. The food at the Brazilian and Japanese Restaurant were good. Resort was clean and most of the employees were friendly. However, as a bride and groom our treatment was average. Our wedding package included an Iberostar Gift that we did not receive. Upon arrival our room was not ready (with an early check in requested) and we were the last room to check in out of all of our guests. Our guests received a map and a credit booklet to be used at the resort that we did not receive. Our “upgraded room” was not seen as an upgrade considering our guests ended up with the same room (Junior Suite). Also, our guests received amenities in their room that we (the bride and groom) did not receive. For example, snacks, chocolates, and even a coffee maker. Our guests received rose petal treatment that was not requested by them, again being treated equal to the Bride and groom. Our room accommodations were subpar in our eyes for a Bride and Groom who had spent a good amount of money and brought over 50 guests to your resort. The water was shut off for an evening during our stay with no notification, the power in our room would shut off for 10 minute increments except for in the bathroom. There was mold in the bathroom in most of our guests rooms, including ours and/or extremely dirty air filters, even one room had a missing air filter. Room service, was cold and incorrect majority of the time. For transportation, we were denied a shuttle more than once because we were not VIP. A Bride and Groom at any venue, should be considered VIP with or without an added package. The biggest part of our decision for booking was the large pool at Paraiso Del Mar. Our 4 year old son was so excited to see this large pool. However, ended up very disappointed when majority of it was closed. The jacuzzi in the waterfall did not work, and no one was available to assist with turning it on. While getting ready, we, the Bride and Groom had to both order room service in order to get a bottle of champagne. Our private dinner that was included in our wedding package... we arrived on time, the waiter seemed confused when looking for my name on the list. We were finally sat at our table and given a menu to order off of. Than we were told they had made a mistake and sat us at the wrong table. Once we were finally sat at the romantic table (which was in the main dining room still) we were served the wrong menu for the first 2 courses. Lastly, rehearsal day... it was very stressful to have to wait for my wedding coordinator to show up for rehearsal. After being transferred 7 times, to finally reach you and only receive an “oh.” was very frustrating. Myself, and all my bridal party were waiting in dress clothes in the heat for 35 minutes. This exact review was sent to my wedding coordinator 3 weeks ago, and i have not received any kind of response. All in all, we will not be recommending this resort to others.

September 26th to October 3rd ---- Jan and I have been to this Resort many times over the years since 2004. We have stayed approximate 30 times over the years at either the IIberostar Praiso Beach or the Iberostar Lindo but most of our stays at the Del Mar. These three Properties are part of the five Resorts that are together. People always say --- why do you keep on going back to the same resort ? The answer is really easy -- it is a "SUPER GREAT PLACE" --- very clean rooms and property --- very beautiful beach --- the food is above average --- good liqueur ---- most of all is the "STAFF" ---- from the front desk "Angelica" / HR Liz / Bus boy Carlos / Bartenders: Victor - Royer - Orlando - Jorge just a few to mention / Entertainment Group -- Caesar --- Adriana -Jarred - Jason again just a few to mention. This Resort is a great place for your money :) --- I want to THANK EVERYBODY AT THE DEL MAR -- for everything they have done for us and to the other guests. Suggestion Book a Beach Room --- do the upgrade --- you will love it. :)

The grounds were beautifully. Staff were not particularly friendly, especially breakfast staff at Italian restaurant. Kudos to victor, Veronica and yessi who went above and beyond. Food for breakfast and lunch marginal at best. Dinners were great at all restaurants except surprising Mexican. Coffee was horrible. Coffee was cold, juices were warm No washcloths anywhere in the resort! Our room was cleaned meticulously each day. It’s a distance to beach and restaurants and golf cart service was sporadic and some of the drivers very unfriendly. I don’t think I would return

7 nights stay.. Beautiful grounds and pool... but

let me start out with The Good... The buildings and grounds were well maintained and our maid kept our room clean and tidy. The food was adequate considering the resort is all inclusive, but the dining hours were limited. The Bad... the resort is large and we were told a golf cart will pick you up at the assigned stops every 10 - 15 minutes. We waited up to 30 minutes at times, any many times the driver just drove past us even with waving them down.. One even said walk it is not that far... We also requested a ride to the restaurant we were told to walk.. long story short we were told to walk or the driver ignored my request for a ride more than I was able to catch a ride. I have mobility issues and found the lack of rides extremely disastrous to our vacation. Restaurants - they closed completely at 3pm until 6:30pm and there was no clear direction to where they were located or which ones were open each day.. each and everyone was a long distance from the rooms and the lobby. I could go on but why...

Myself and my wife decided to stay here as it seemed the best value for money! We were very right! I hate to be negative but there are a few small things. First is the check in. We arrived at 9am but couldn't check in until 3pm. We had an overnight flight which we are never able to sleep on planes so we were exhausted by the time we got there. We explained to front desk and luckily they were able to get us into a room by 1pm but we still were desperately trying to stay awake until then. The second negative was the convenience store in the lobby. I don't think they are part of the hotel and you can really tell. When I walked up to the counter to buy cigarettes there were 2 women working. I asked for my smokes and they both started laughing at me. Not sure what they were laughing at but it did not feel very pleasant. I can get over that however, when my wife went in to have a look around the same evening she was met with the same laughter and then followed and watched like a hawk! This really upset her and almost ruined what was otherwise a very nice evening. Now the resort itself was beautiful but like most reviews say it's the staff that make it and I couldn't believe how right they are. Everyone was so nice and accommodating! Smiles and chats everywhere you go! Best service I've ever had! (Apart from the convenience store). The room we had was very nice with a great mini bar restocked daily. Housekeepers were amazing! We ate at the Italian, Mexican and Japanese restaurants which were all great but the Japanese really stood out as it was a show from the very talented chefs as well as great food! The buffet was also very very good! We had tried the Mexican place first and when we made our reservation they asked us the occasion which was our honeymoon and they sent a bottle of champagne to our room 1 hour before dinner! Absolutely greatly appreciated and unexpected. My wife simply loved the pool! She spent so much time just floating around the massive pool which worked great for me as she could go to the pool bar while I lay in the shade.( I burn very easily). I should also mention the drinks at the bar are definitely watered down. You can tell when you have a drink at the lobby bars. Big difference! But I didn't mind. All in all this was the best resort I have ever stayed at absolutely amazing!
