Resort was very nice. Rooms were beautiful and kept very clean by their staff. The breakfast buffet was excellent as well as the restaurants. I did not care for the lunch or the dinner buffets but I am a picky eater. My only two "minor" complaints were the bugs in our room which was on the bottom floor. I left with over 20 bites on my legs and unless you are in a restaurant having drinks with dinner, the only bar that is really open in the evening is the one in the main lobby. We had a beach party one night so the beach bar was open until it started to rain and it closed.
We booked through Vacation Express which was a very good experience. I would definitely stay here again.

Very relaxing vacation where restaurants were different but of high quality - beaches were pristine and the swimming pools were well kept though warm. Entertainment was first class and very latin. The best of all with this vacation was a special omelet prepared in good humor by chef Lionel. He always made us start our day with a smile and a tasty breakfast. The location was perfect and included a small park featuring local flora and fauna. The iguanas were special. All in all a spectacular place.

Just love it there. Calm. No stress. Just beach water combing the beach. Love to walk the shore. So laid back. Love this hotel. Just like your own apartment. Safe as can be. Been there already 3 times? Or 4. Grounds are great. Just a lovely way to get away. Search your soul. Set your mind. Then relax.

This was the most horrific vacation of my life! I am a frequent traveler and I know service and quality well. My family and I decided to stay at Bavaro Princess in the Platinum Suite after we visited Grand Sunset Princess in Rivera Maya last year (which by the way is awesome!!! highly recommend)
Upon arrival at Bavaro we were treated like second class people. We did not receive our welcome drink or cold towel when we checked in. When we asked for it, we were looked at with 12 heads by Juan (Platinum Service Check In Attendant) and he dismissed our request.
We were given flimsy wooden bracelets that said Platinum on it and were told if we lost them there was a $47 charge for a new one.
We then checked into our rooms and immediately noticed the white bugs crawling all over our mattresses. After letting Ivanova (MANAGER of Platinum Concierge) know about this, she gets immediately irritated and sends housekeeping into our rooms to spray our bed (sheets and pillows included) with raid. (We have a 7 month old infant and 7 year old traveling with us) We were told that, that should take care of it. I am sure you all know what raid smells like? Death. Anyways, we decided to leave the room to let it air out. Came back several hours later to more bugs. When she was told again, she rudely said "they are not bugs they are ants and there's nothing I can do about it"
Fast forwarding: My fiancé and I are waiting for the trolly by the pool and one of the restaurant workers approaches us and says "Are you Dominican?" We responded, "No we are American" he then states, "Never say you are American, say you are Dominican because my people no like your people." (RUDE MUCH? BUT BOY WAS HE RIGHT)
From that moment on terrible service and rude staff was an understatement. We went to restaurants and didn't receive water, had staff get annoyed when we asked for simple things like ketchup or ice. (REGARDLESS OF HOW WE WERE TREATED WE EVEN LEFT THEM TIPS) One man literally walked 2 feet to get us a napkin after we had to ask for it and my fiancé gave him $1 tip and his response is "Really $1? rolls his eyes and storms away" (TIPPING IS SOMETHING WE DID OUT OF THE KINDESS OF OUR HEARTS, MANY PEOPLE THAT STAY AT ALL INCLUSIVES DONT TIP BECAUSE ITS ALREADY INCLUDED, HOW RUDE!)
We comeback to our room to find our toilet overflowing. Water all over the bathroom with 2 towels in our bathroom for 4 people. We called the Platinum Concierge to alert them of the problem. They told us they would send someone immediately. No one ever showed up. We had to use our towels to clean it up and borrow from our neighbors. When we called back to follow up they told us they apologize and would give us a free mini bar (which we never received also)
The resort is pretty big so they do have trolly transportation to pick you up at various stops and take you around the resort. They only have 2 of these and they are always PACKED. We were standing at the trolly stop near the garden taking family photos with the resort's photographer and my sister's phone was stolen. There was a host of other guests and resort employees present. We submitted a report that same day. On our last day there we went to the front desk to find out if the phone had been found and the front desk agent tells us we never filed a report because he cannot find it. How is that possible? most likely a resort employee stole it because smart phones (galaxy and iphones are worth over $1,000 there) VERY SAD!
FINALLY we are so happy to leave this place and are checking out. We are then told we have to pay $65 per day for our 7 year old because he is not paid for. First of all how is that possible when our entire vacation was paid for in advance? Secondly, how did you give him and bracelet, copy his passport, and let him check in if we did not pay for him. We were told by the manager of Guest Services, Ingrid Morales that we had to pay $325 immediately or we were not going to be able to leave the resort. She demanded we give them a credit card to pay. We refused to pay and our itinerary even showed him on the reservation. After 2 hours of debate, we are annoyed and frantic because we needed to get to the airport to catch our flight. She then asks us how much cash we have. We show her $68 in cash and she says "OKAY, we will take that" SCAM MUCH? how do you go from demanding $325 to being okay with taking $68. We gave her and Ivanova the lousy $68 and asked for a receipt and was denied one. We were then escorted to the lobby.
WHAT A HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE. I can't even begin to call it a vacation because of the lousy service and rude employees. If the managers treat the guests like animals of course the employees will. Never in my life have I been more happy to get home. Do yourself a favor and do not stay at this resort.
