We travelled to Bavaro Princess for a wedding. The wedding staff was amazing from what I heard from the Bride and Groom. The pool and beach were amazing. The shows at night were not the best but they were okay. The weather was awesome! All of the restaurants were good. The lime chicken at the Chinese restaurant was to die for, I wish you got more on your plate though. Some of the people that came to the wedding got sick and some of us didn't. I do not know what caused some to get sick. Sometimes people just react differently to food in another country. The rooms are absolutely amazing. They are beautiful, very well kept and clean. The staff was nice enough to upgrade us once we got there which was awesome. Overall this vacation amazing, and I would go back. More>

My girlfriend and I just got back from a week at the Bavaro Princess. It was one of the best weeks ever!! Here's my review of the hotel and resort. First of all, we did not upgrade to Platinum, and I'm very glad we didn't spend the extra money. For the few extras you get, it didn't seem worth it for us. 1. Room...we stayed in room 825 which was very close to the beach. It was only a couple minute walk to the beach and a few more minute walk to the pool. The room was very spacious and clean. The maid did a wonderful job keeping it clean and restocking toiletry items. The little animal-like creations she made with the bed sheets each day was a nice touch. We tipped her $5 a day because she did such a great job. We had a big bed which I had a hard time sleeping on because it was too hard for me. My girlfriend loved it. The Jacuzzi was marvelous!! The shower head was like a rain shower. Great room, all in all. 2. Beach....the beach was huge. Never a problem getting a chair. The water was that beautiful turquoise color with the white talcum powder-like sand. The waves were a bit strong and it had an undercurrent to it, but we enjoyed wading in the water and walking up and down the beach, which goes on and on in both directions. Seeing the sunrise was a real treat! The beach bar was our favorite bar. Carlos and Julio were beyond excellent. They would have our drinks ready before we got to the bar!! They appreciated the fact that we tipped each time, but didn't expect a thing and still treated us like friends. It was so sad saying good bye to them. Great people!! 3. Pool...the main pool is enormous. Plenty of chairs there. The swim-up bar was fun but crowded for the most part. That's the area where the entertainment is in the afternoons, so it can get a bit noisy, but it's a fun time. They also have a smaller, quiet pool close to the lobby that is usually almost empty. Both pools are kept very clean. 4. Food...the food was plentiful and delicious. We only tried one ala carte restaurant. It was the Bella Pasta Italian restaurant. It was delicious. We would recommend trying the mozzarella sticks (I forget exactly what they call them)...amazing! We ate at the buffet by the lobby most times and everything was great. They have the omelet station and a crepe station in the morning, and a pasta station for lunch and dinner that were great. The only problem we had with the food is that my girlfriend is allergic to coconuts and they use coconut oil to cook their food. We didn't realize it until she started getting hives and swelling up, and by then it was too late. She got some Benedryl and that seemed to help a bit, but she was afraid to eat anything that could contain oil, so it made for a limited diet for her during the last few days. I thought the food was very tasty for the most part. We also ate at the beach buffet at lunchtime and the McPrincess snack bar, and they were both very good. 5. WiFi....since we didn't upgrade, the only access to the internet was in the lobby. I only went on it a few times. I didn't have much time for the internet being in paradise! But I was able to get on for the most part. It was very slow at times. During the evening when it is very busy, it's even worse. There was an option to spend $% a day to get a router so you could be connected anytime, but again, that's not why we were there and we didn't feel the need to spend the extra money. 6. Entertainment....I saved the best for last. We met the Animation team during our first full day there. Apple Vacations hosted a private party for us, and the Animation team showed up to entertain. They all came in and sat down at different tables engaging in conversation with everyone. These guys and girls work hard from morning until night (as does everybody there), but they never stop going. You can find them in the mornings on the beach, always with a different game or contest to play. In the afternoons they are entertaining at the big pool near the bar, engaging everyone in song and dance. In the evenings, they are part of the nightly shows which are different every night. Then they also entertain the private events. They make me tired just watching them!! A huge shout out to Mamajuana (GREAT guy), Yenifer (great dancer!!), Gregory and Justin Bieber!! Very fun people who really helped us to enjoy our vacation to the fullest!! The week went by too fast and it is a wonderful property with super wonderful employees, from the bartenders to the maids, the groundskeepers, and the animation staff. We would love to come back ASAP, if we can figure out the problem with the coconut oil. I would recommend this place to anybody. Please tell Mamajuana and Yenifer that Bob and Mary from Cleveland said Hola!!! More>

Awesome resort, don't let the complainers discourage you!

This is a fabulous resort and we have been to quite a few. For those of you who are going to complain about wifi stay home and play with your electronics and stay out of these foreign countries or learn what a vacation is. This resort has a great beach area, great food, nice rooms, and great staff and service. If your going to complain about lots of people or it's too busy don't stay in an 800 room resort, go somewhere smaller for crying out loud this isn't rocket science. You totally confuse people who use these reviews to make important decisions as to where to stay or not to stay on vacation. If your going to whine about bugs then do some research as to when they are bad and when they aren't, same goes for weather complains. This world is an adventure and every trip is not going to be perfect. Don't yap about problems you have at check in either, you just arrived with a hundred other people and there will be another hundred in a couple hours or the next day and these people work hard to make hundreds of you happy all day long so..... Enjoy yourself or stay home!!!!! More>
