Overall it was a nice hotel, however the seaweed was terrible and walk through it to get to the ocean. The staff was nice and friendly. The pool area had hours of service and not available at all times. Bar Service was fair however could improve.

Good experience

This was our honey and the service at the hotel was excellent. That staff treated us very well. The resort was very nice and was accurate to what we read about. One disappointing piece was that the WiFi is that is included only works in certain areas and is extremely slow. Other than that I would highly recommend this place. Good value for the money.

The mattresses at the hotel are very hard and uncomfortable. The food was good at 2 out of the 6 ala carte restaurants. Food at the buffet was terrible for dinner. Tips are suppose to be included but if you don't tip the staff they get an attitude. The eco area at the hotel stinks horribly and unfortunately you have to pass this area daily in order to go to the main lobby, shops, buffet, and pool.

The property is beautiful and maintained very well. The roof on the main buildings is in desperate need of replacement.

great hotel and resort but bed bugs will not make me come back
May 28 2018
Great hotel until by the end of my stay I realized I was bitten by bed bugs instead of mosquitoes. Housekeeping services were great but not addressing bed bug issues is big issue. There were also other little issues in my room such as safe not working, had to call maintenance to open the safe for us, everyone had umbrellas in their room and our room was missing, but they brought the umbrella after I called them the second time (it rained 3 evenings of my 6 night stay). Beach is great and really enjoyed it. Pool was well maintained and the bartenders at the swim up bar were great too. They remembered my drink preferences and I did not have to say extra words. This is my 5th all inclusive experience and entertainment was the worst of all the resorts I visited. It was ok but comparing to other shows, it lacks quality. Michael Jackson show was great though. Food was better then any other resorts I stayed. Buffets were ok, but specialty restaurants were great such as Italian and Steakhouse. We visited steakhouse 3 times. If it wasn't for bedbugs, I would have rated this hotel really nicely and possibly would have considered coming back, but will look at other hotels next time

Hotel was good but....
May 15 2018
Hotel was good. People are kind. Food was OK. Poorly functioning Internet. resident Ellina Burova very nice but not very competent. she informed us badly about the bus leaving for the airport. what the plane flew without us. the next resident who was receiving the bus did not check the list where he was. they were our names not looking for us at the reception where we waited 2 hours before leaving. he did not ask anybody where we are, why do not we go to the airport. through this incident, we had to stay one day longer with a small child. return on the next day last much longer. from punta cana we went to Houston and then to Chicago. it lasted 12 hours. At the airport, we wanted to pay for suitcases even though we had already paid. we waited half an hour at the check-in so that the resident would kindly pay for it. big problem for everyone because your resident makes such stupid mistakes. End our holiday was bad

Great vacation

The Bavaro Princess resort is beautiful. The food was average. I did get food poisoning on Sunday while we were there. I ended up in bed all day Monday and still haven’t really had a full meal. No one else got sick though. My friends who travelled with us say that there is always one person on their trips that ends up sick---lucky me. There were plenty of restaurants/buffets- and 3 other Princess Resorts we could have gone to dine. Our friends travelled to the Dominican Republic 4 other times and said the grounds of this hotel were the best. The service was slow. The waiters could not tell you anything about the dishes they were serving. There was a language barrier- I’m going to have to learn how to speak Spanish. Our room location was great. If you ever send anyone to this resort---request room 755 or 756. We were 10 steps from the beautiful white sand beach! The Platinum option was the way to go. We had access to a nice Platinum lounge with Wi-Fi, top shelf liquor and concierge within our little section of platinum rooms. The private beach was a plus---with cushioned loungers and bar service. We took a whole day trip to Saona Island with Apple Tours. A must see.

Good, for the money

Property was amazing. Room was ok, mattress was very very hard and the door for the adjoining room let in a lot of noise from the next room. Food was relly very good and amazing coffee. Staff were not nearly as friendly as at other resorts I have stated at in Punta Cana. Overall I would say an OK deal for the money.

Bavaro Princess is an amazing resort! My boyfriend and I stayed there from March 2nd-9th, we booked through sunwing and got a bungalow room. Let’s start start with check in. We arrived on a bus of course, so the front desk was immediately busy. No fault of the hotel, I was willing to wait. But one hotel employee called us over and we were taken to their customer service room for a private check in. There he explained everything in great detail which was very nice. And we were even given delicious drinks during! I know that not everyone will get this experience, but it made checking in a breeze! When it was all done we were left our bags to be brought to the room. We boarded a trolley, and went on our way to the room. The gentleman driving knew our room number and told us where to get off. We waited maybe 10 minutes for our bags. The room was fairly large, with a king bed. Had a mini fridge that was stocked with 2 large bottles of water, 2 bottles of cokes, 2 bottles of sprite and 2 bottles of Budweiser. We didn’t have any of the small wash cloth towels, which wasn’t a big deal but worth noting! We right away set up the safe in the room. The AC worked but never got cooler then 21 degrees Celsius. Not too bad when it was 30 outside! The beach. Oh man the beach was amazing! We went to the beach every single day. We did have difficulty finding chairs on some days. People reserve them by putting towels on chairs then leaving. It’s a little frustrating but nothing you can do! The area near the beach bar was always the first to fill up. Unless you’re up early early, there’s a good chance you won’t find a chair near the bar. Further down the beach is where we got chairs most days. The beach itself was beautiful. There was one day where the sand and shore was covered in seaweed. It was very windy and cloudy that day though. No fault of the hotel. But we figured they’d at least try and and keep up with the seaweed on the beach. But we noticed the next day it was mostly cleaned up! There are excursion people trying to sell you stuff. Sometimes they are sometimes aggressive with trying to sell, but as long as you are firm they will leave. The other people trying to sell sunglasses and things like that are much better. Usually they won’t approach unless you call them over. The sand was beautiful and white and the water was an amazing colour of blue! The food. We only went to the Steak House and the Pasta restaurants. And they were both amazing! Highly recommend the steak house. We went there twice! As for the buffets. They were pretty good. They mix it up by doing different themes such as Mexican or Chinese. The food selection at the buffets was okay, did find myself looking for something more, a wider selection maybe. But overall I would say it’s good! The staff were very quick to pour you some water and take your drink order. Like any place in the Dominican, some of the didn’t speak English at all. The wifi in the lobby was usually good, but was spotty and slow at times. Just be patient! The lobby bar was also nice. We spent a few evenings there having drinks and meeting other people! We also had one awesome waitress that just kept bringing drinks when she saw we were low. So awesome! Some advice would be to bring lots cash for tipping and make sure it’s USD. Also if you like to snack while in your room, I would suggest bringing snacks from home! The lobby store was expensive. We went through two and a half bottles of sunscreen and still got burnt. So make sure to bring enough! It’s also very expensive to buy there. Overall I was very happy with my stay here. I would definitely go back.

Great Getaway for our Honeymoon

My wife and I went there for our honeymoon a few weeks ago for 10 days and it exceeded my expectations for the price we paid. I highly suggest to spend the extra money for the Platinum package, this allows you to book restaurant reservations (with the basic one you have to show up and wait for an opening), gives you an easy check in at the Platinum Lounge located near the beach, we had Luis and another gentleman help us with everything we needed there and they were fantastic. The rooms for platinum guests are right near the beach and away from the main area where there were a lot of families. It also gives you access to a private area of the beach with better cabanas and lets you be with an amazing group of bartenders in the private beach bar. It's worth it just to hang out with Tony and Claudio, they're some of the funniest and hard working guys there. They're never just sitting around either, always cleaning and joking around, their energy really puts you in a good mood (if for some reason being in paradise doesn't do it that day) Some tips, bring a good amount of $USD for tips, the staff work extremely hard and it's a great way to show your appreciation. Also bring your sunscreen and lots of it, the lobby store sells that and other drug store products at an extremely inflated price, it's between $20-$30 for a tube of sunscreen. All in all it was a truly great vacation and would recommend this resort to anyone.

Another wonderful experience. Spent my birthday there and had a great surprise at midnight. Thanks to all involved. You made this "big one" special!! Lots of new animation workers but lots of fun. Looking forward to going back in October. Every time I get to stressed, I need to go back home to the resort. Very clean, workers very helpful and they make you feel important whether it is your first time or your 14th time. I need the email address for J. De La Vieja, General Manager please!

We just returned from our vacation. The Bavaro exceeded our expectations. My parents took their kids and grandkids (18). We stayed in the platinum area. The staff were all extremely nice- Sarah, Anna, Jordi, and many others. It’s the first trip I’ve come home sad, b/c they were so lovely! The restaurants we really liked were Gaucho, Chinese and Pasta Bella. I hope we get to go back-Thanks for making us feel like family❤️

We initially booked here for a couple of days to see how it was but after the first day we booked for a further 10. I was traveling with my wife and another couple. The hotel was great and the rooms were even better, I especially loved the hot tub in the room. There’s many facilities in the hotel, volleyball was fantastic! My wife especially loved the water aerobics :) there’s so many different bars and restaurants you’re spoilt for choice.
