I just got back from a week at the Bavaro Princess with my friend. We had an amazing time. 1) The food Things that you should definitely do: get crepes, a grilled breakfast sandwich, and a chocolate desert at the Hispaniola buffet, The chocolate and fruit extravaganzas are made at your table by Francisco, a wonderfully talented and happy person. You should also try the spiced hot chocolate at the beach buffet. For the a la cartes, we only ended up going to the Italian and Argentinian restaurants. They were both really tasty. Great steak at the Argentinian, and a couple proposed at the table beside us so it was very sweet. There can be a bit of a line at the Italian because there aren't reservations, so plan accordingly. The Mexican night at the Hispaniola buffet was amazing. Such delicious tacos. We ate at the Chopin Buffet and were serenaded by a piano player in a boat in the water beside the restaurant. No kidding. A piano drifting lazily in a boat on the water, with a guy playing Adele. Beautiful. 2) The beach The sand is soft, the water is clear, the beach is overall a lovely experience. The chairs don't recline all the way, so it's a little difficult to lie on your stomach and tan evenly. Get down to the beach by around 8 o clock to get a space with a covering. We had massages on the beach and it was incredibly. We went kayaking a few times. The kayaks are included and there were always boats available. Fun times to be had by all. The Animation team is a lot of fun. They have daily activities and games. Hector does aerobics by the beach and there are tons more. There's a schedule at the main lobby. 3) The rooms Our room was quite cold for the entire stay. Adjusting the thermostat didn't seem to make a difference. But we just put on blankets and everything was good. The beds weren't the most comfortable but they did the trick. Shower had low water pressure. Fridge was stocked every day with large bottles of water, pop, and beer. There were cute couches in a living room sort of area. 4) The drinks All of the bars give you bottled water, which is bad for the environment but good for you, because then at least you can be certain that the drinking water is safe. The bartenders are all super friendly. Melvin and Carlos at the beach bar are great. Domingo is a super nice server at the beach buffet. We did Mama Juana shots together. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Should have only had one or two. 5) The resort The grounds are beautiful. There are birds everywhere: flamingos, peacocks, parrots, and a whole lot more that I don't know the name of. I loved all the birds. There's a nature walk in the middle that breaks up the lobby area from the villas/beach area. It's gorgeous to walk through. From the main lobby to the beach is about a 15 minute walk but there are carts that come around every few minutes. They call it the train and there are about 6 train stops in a loop. Fast and convenient. 6) Wifi The lobby Wifi is free but spotty. There's better free WiFi on the beach. You can also pay for it but we didn't do that. Overall: I have very few things to complain about. The trip was great, everyone on the staff that we encountered was incredibly friendly and helpful, and I would definitely go back. More>

Lots of fun at Bavaro Princess

My friend and I decided to go to Bavaro Princess because of a Groupon deal. It was a great experience for what we were looking for - a beach getaway on a budget. The people really make this resort! As soon as we checked in we were greeted by Robin and Idanny. Both were wonderful throughout the whole trip!! Laterin the week, we met Jerry and Daniela (I think?) who were also so great! Our room was in a bungalow and was very clean. We got soda, water, and beer stocked in our fridge nightly. The beds were very hard. The rooms were modern though. Modern sinks, shower, etc. Almost like little apartments. The food was hit or miss. We had some great meals at the Italian restaurant and the steakhouse. Hibachi was good and interactive. The buffets were okay. Things were edible and we were never starving but it was definitely buffet food. The beach was beautiful. The sand was clean and so was the water. There are some people trying to sell things but you can just decline. We didn't have issues getting chairs at the beach but it was hard to get a chair at the pool unless you were there very early. The pool was also very nice and big. The swim up bar was convenient and fun. The Animation team brought a lot of fun to the trip. Jack Daniel and Evelyn were awesome!!! I can't believe the energy these guys have. The whole crew was great. Jack recognized our new faces on our first day and came right up to welcome us and invite us to participate in things. Overall, we had a great experience. Wish the food was a tiny bit better but it was fine! All of the staff was very, very friendly. We felt safe on the resort and the entertainment was great. Bars were plentiful. We would go back! More>

Had my honeymoon in Punta Cana and stayed at the Barvaro Princess. The service at the resort was fantastic. The "Animation" team was great! Bartender Tony was awesome, along with Gregory. The beach area is well maintained and there are activities each day. The food was decent, the Japanese Steakhouse was our favorite. More>

Another Great Stay

Despite a lot of rainy weather we enjoyed another great week at the Bavaro Princess. We stayed in a Suite outside of the Platinum section. If you can afford the upgrade I would definitely encourage you to take advantage. The cost to upgrade at the hotel is $55 per person/per night US and $25 for children. We just felt that this was too much for a one week stay and thought we might have been offered a lower rate as we were returning guests. Our room 368 was close to the pool and beach and was the same Suite as we had in the Platinum level. In any event, we still had a great experience. Food was good. Staff really do work hard to make your experience a good one! The grounds are beautiful. If you are looking for a solid resort with a great beach, this is a great pick! More>

Raphy the bartender

We spent a whole week at bavaro princess and out of the seven days we were there it rained, even though it was raining we decided to spend the days at the pool. Raphy the bartender at the pool bar made sure that we all had the best time and that our drinks were always full. We never had to wait or even tell him what we wanted, which would have been a challenge as there were 13 in our group. He did an amazing job and was always happy to see us. I would definitely return just based on the staff alone. More>
