The door to our room was askew and difficult to open and close at times. We addressed this with Apple and the hotel and it was not addressed prior to our departure. Also we discovered the tub from the unit above our leaked into our room. We informed Apple when we checked out.

Our room was very nice and kept clean. We were supposed to get our frig restocked daily, which didn't always happen. Beware the toilet paper can't be flushed. The food at the restaurants and buffets were subpar at best. The food was never hot or even warm for that matter. It was lukewarm at best. I made sure to eat foods that didn't require a certain temperature. Beware of scouts telling you you have a welcome gift. They took us to the office where a woman walked with us to breakfast and sat with us (all while i'm trying to eat my first meal since I arrived). She bombarded us with questions about our travel history. She then walked us back and we were brought into another room where another person sat us down to try to sell us a time share. As soon as I showed no interest he slammed down his pen, got angry that I "wasted" his time and sent us on our way. We did get our "welcome gift", a couple t-shirts and vanilla. I was furious that I was lied to and that staff followed us around all morning trying to get us to buy into their time share. Beware and tell them to bug off. I would seriously consider another resort if this is the what I have to go through when I want to relax and enjoy myself.

The resort itself is pleasing to the eye and the beach is beautiful that is where the compliments end however. The rooms are somewhat dated and just the overall craftsmanship of the rooms is lacking. We tried all of the a la carte restaurants and they were all lacking as far as food quality and general preparation. The Teppanyaki was our favorite and if you only eat at one I'd suggest this one.The wait staff and hostesses were overall friendly. We had an Electrical issue in our room while at the beach one day that forced us to change rooms. Our clothes and luggage were left saturated with that electrical fire smell. The hotel did take our clothes and luggage and have them cleaned but we we're without clean clothes for almost 24 hours. They comped us a 20 minute massage each for our being inconvenienced and brought us some chocolates and a small bottle of rum. I feel tehy could have done more as this cost us probably 3 or 4 hours out of our day to change rooms and go through all of our clothing etc. The worst part of our experience was the vendors constantly hawking goods at the beach and the resort has tons of different companies selling excursions around the pool and beach. They even have timeshare hawks waiting to assault you before and after breakfast up by the main buffet in the lobby. This was our third and last time going to the DR and my suggestion is choose somewhere else.

Our stay overall was amazing. Our only complaint is that we were overwhelmed with vendersoth on the property and on the beach. This became a little annoying while trying to relax.

Food good but not all restaurants open. Not much good nightly entertainment. Staff fantastic. Room the best. Cleanliness outstanding. Bars excellent, but both red & white wines tart, had to buy bottles. Beach & pool excellent. Hidden sewer system close to our unit had constant noisy humm. Birds gorgeous! Tennis courts good. Casino lots of fun! Piano player in lobby awesome! Can do without the incense though. Overall great place except night entertainment, tart wine, & closed restaurants.

Our stay at the Bavaro Princess hotel was good until our last day when we experienced on of the worst customer service my family and I had ever come across. On the night of Christmas eve our family and friends met at one the hotels restaurants for dinner. It was Christmas eve and all the restaurants in the resort were serving the same menu. The hotel asked that all guest wear long pants or they would not be allowed to dine at the restaurant. Unfortunately for us, a few of the men did not bring any long pants with them on the trip. We asked the hostess to make an acceptation and she did not allow it. When we asked to speak to the manager he too said that we can't eat with them. With no other options for food until 12:00am when the snack bar opened up, our family was desperate for some help, but it was clear that the staff did not care to help us. We eventually spoke with the hotel manager after an hour of arguments and he too said we can't eat. Baffled and shocked we started to get frustrated. The hotel manager offered us to wait another 2 hours until 10:00 and he would open the snack bar early, serving fries and burgers. This simply was not acceptable as many of us did not eat meat and did not want to eat fries and a burger on Christmas eve. What happened next will shock you all. We approached the manager and asked him if he wanted a discrimination case on his hands. He said no. So we asked him if the guys came back wearing girls dresses would that be okay? He said yes and as a result the men all went back to the rooms forced to wear women dresses in order to eat dinner. I personally had never felt more embarrassed and upset in my life than what I felt in that moment. The hotel manager skirmished away in fear of being yelled at when he saw us all come back in dresses. To put it simply, Bavaro Princess cares more about its rulebook than providing its guest with an enjoyable stay. Definitely would not recommend anyone to stay at this resort.

On the last night of our trip on Christian eve 11 of us went to the steakhouse for dinner. None of the men knew that they needed to bring/ nor had long pants. The resolution of the hotel manager was to wait for the snack bar and feed us snacks on Christmas Eve after telling us that he will not let us in to any restaurant. This attitude was completely unprofessional and truly disgusting. We paid so much money to be at the resort and the fact that the hotel manager didn’t want to let us eat a proper dinner on our last night and on Christmas Eve is completely unforgivable. We will make sure that none of the people we know will ever visit Bavaro Princess Resorts.

We have travelled with Apple about half a dozen of times and this time were suggested Bavaro Princess property as we were familiar with the Bavaro Beach and wanted to experience that again. The hotel is overrated as the management cuts corners at basic stuff. Soaps and shampoos were interior and made in China. When I asked for two bathrobes for the room I was curtly informed they were only available for the newlyweds and repeat clients. When we arrived I specifically requested a quiet room as we had a four year old child with us. When we got to the room, the blasting sounds from the pool bass speakers were rocking the room. We requested a room change at once and moved. In that room, a TV set had to be replaced as it was defective, the AC repaired and the closet door fixed, however, there was a huge crack in the jacuzzi which took forever to fill with a tepid water. What I am trying to demonstrate, that we spent $3400 for five days of vacation in the country with an average salary of approximately $400 and we felt cheated as the accommodations were outright not even kept with a minimal standard of care. The food was excellent, although certain basic items were not available like apple juice in any form (our son was partial to that and we could not get it). The internet was only available in the lobby, not in the rooms and was of the utmost poor quality. One would think that with the amount of dollars the property gets on a weekly basis the management could easily afford a router for each room so grateful clients could reach out to their friends home to describe their excellent experience there. The beach was phenomenal as usual, with a slightly weird system of towers issued in exchange for a card given to each guest at the checkout, which should be returned to the hotel upon checking out. (In my opinion, such system is a complete waste of resources and card printing).

7th time!

Recently returned from my 7th visit to the BP, for the first time traveling alone. I was greeted like family and treated like royalty, you cannot beat the staff at this hotel, have made so many good friends over the years, I find myself wanting to go back every year as opposed to trying someplace new. I honestly can't imagine what people could find to complain about. I want to thank the staff for making me feel comfortable and welcome, to name a few Jerry and Alberto at the front desk, Francia in the main buffet, my good friends Melvin, Raphy, DonJuan at the pool bar, and Carlos and Ramon at the beach bar. My only disappointment was that Raphy was hidden away in the lobby most days instead of the pool bar..:( Always happy to see Alfonso from Seapro on the beach :) I will be back in April with some friends for my 8th time, so looking forward to it. The staff definitely makes this hotel, I have yet to meet one who hasn't gone out of their way to be friendly and helpful. If you are relaxed and respectful of others, you will have a fantastic vacation here. And the food? Well let's just say I always return home a few pounds heavier! Also have to mention the superbowl party, very well done!

Here at moment, place huge, no good if you have walking difficulties although they do run a train all over the complex so that’s a plus. Food, cold and very little English choices I know were not in England but been Dominican Republic 6 previous times always found something to eat. Room nice, we had honeymoon suite. Tonight watched hour of entertainment and they only spoke in French, what about us English I’d at least like to know what was being said. Not a great hotel. Staff pleasant though.

Never again

I do want to start by saying our bungalow was amazing really cute. Property is clean and pretty. The pools are nice. It was very far from the beach and the dining hall. I had knee surgery and we were still inconveniently placed in the back of the resort. I was teallyed annoyed how the resort is ok with people ( photograhers, and vendors) harassing you to purchase things every single day. The food is horrible. The guests that were there were starring at us like it was the 1950’s and it was still separate but equal. We were often told we looked Dominican but then when it came to getting serviced or entertained we were ignored and other White guests were tended to first. In the steakhouse there were roaches crawling in the floor. I told a staff member and they dismissed what I said. Someone went into our room and stole $45 out of my wallet. I reported it and again just basically said oh well. The drinks were watered down just full of sugar. The gym had broken machines. Don’t stay here honestly isn’t worth the price. Get a regular hotel and rent a car and save so much money please.

Worst Resort in 3 years of going to Dominican

This is my husband and I's 3rd stay in the Dominican as we love this island, our previous 2 resorts had their issues but we were generally satisfied. This resort i am stretching to give it a 3. We were impressed at the start with the reception from the platinum lounge and our concierge, however that quickly changed. After the 2nd day they couldn't be bothered with us, unless we were booking something, actually with the exception of our housekeeper (who was fantastic) our beach waiter and a few others, the entire staff treated us like we were an annoyance. The description of the room at the platinum level is that you get premium alcohol that is always refilled, wrong again. You are only given this one time, and one time only, you are not able to get juice in your room or even get champagne to your room. The beach is fantastic but the other guests there put there stuff out the night before to save chairs so good luck getting a good spot. We complained to staff about this as signs say you can only hold a spot for 1 hr they said they would say something but nothing happened. Getting clean towels was ;extremely difficult, wash cloths impossible, i asked for them my entire stay and only got them twice out of 10 days! Lastly in general the food is horrible, at the main buffet the food is cold, the food the put is not kept on warming trays, so it sits out for who knows how long, king of dangerous especially with fish and meat out. If you eat at the Italian restaurant or the steak house your good as both are great. Beware! this resort is on the less expensive side but i learned you get what you pay for!

Bavaro beach is always a fantastic beach location!. Wide beach, good for walking miles either way.. Food is excellent! Some restaurants close on certain nights..should check buffet themes as we went to Italian restaurant when the buffet was italian theme. Great variety, great steaks, seafood and seafood theme night had more variety. Mcprincess on beach had great burgers, hotdog/ fries starting at noon...there is a buffet at beach for lunch with great variety. In Feb..beach chairs were easy to find...still had fks who went early to reserve and dont show up till afternoon. Vendors on beach but say no politely and they leave you alone. Rooms were suites, very roomy and nice verandahs to sit out as it was cool wind in morning or night. Trolleys run around resort quite regularly to get around. Good famy resort.
