Our Worst Vacation Experience — Completely Ruined Our Anniversary
This was supposed to be a special trip to celebrate our anniversary, but it ended up being one of the most disappointing experiences we've ever had. I had been in contact with the hotel for over a month prior to our stay. They confirmed all our requests and assured us that everything would be handled. But when we arrived, it was clear that none of it mattered. Everything fell apart, and to be honest — I don’t even care about the reasons anymore. We’re just done. The room was absolutely filthy. There were greasy handprints on the walls, mysterious stains on the floor, and a general sense that no real cleaning had been done. As a test, we purposely left some debris on the floor — and it was still there the next day. All housekeeping seemed to do was make the bed. For a hotel that presents itself as high-end, this was unacceptable. My wife is pregnant, and we have strict dietary needs. When I spoke to the hotel in advance, they reassured me they would accommodate us. That turned out to be a complete lie. Not only were our needs ignored, but we were treated like we were asking for too much. Eventually, we gave up trying and cut our trip short. The staff — especially someone named Claire — were extremely rude and dismissive. Simple requests were met with attitude and resistance. We waited hours for food that was flavorless and barely edible. Their restaurant menu was shockingly limited, and despite the hotel’s beautiful photos online, the reality was the exact opposite. This place is a masterclass in false advertising. It ruined a trip we had been looking forward to for months. We feel like we wasted our time, our money, and our energy. We’ll never come back here — and we strongly advise others to stay far away.

Wonderful vacation
Everyone was wonderful, gracious and pleasant. The resort was beautiful and well maintained. We had an upgraded room with jacuzzi. The rooms were spacious and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend it, especially if you’re on a honeymoon.

Almost excellent with some attention
As per many of the reviews I've read our family experience was in keeping with these. We booked a 2 bedroom penthouse with bay view and slash pool. 7 nights. I had to contact the hotel in advance to make sure that we had a complimentary transfer. We did receive a private transfer in a minibus. Be sure to factor the transfer costs when selecting your holiday. Certain suites provide complimentary transfer. These are $300 USD each way if not included. It's therefore worth upgrading your stay to get these and other services that are complementary. When booking 7 nights you also get a shared sunset cruise on a Thursday night only complimentary that you'd pay $75 usd each for. The reception area for check in could be better, a small open room next to the taxi pull in roundabout. It'd be standing room only if there is 2 families present already. Look of the hotel was generally well maintained but the timber veranda are showing signs of rotting and temporary repairs. Room was very spacious with kitchen, fridge freezer, hob, microwave, limited kitchen crockery. No local shops to buy anything to cook. An expensive taxi ride to get to a supermarket. Not offered any in room cooking options by butler or on the hotel app. Admittedly I didn't ask either. Bedrooms and bathrooms spacious and well equipped. Comfortable beds. Good Aircon too. Housekeeping was daily and all the team were helpful and checked if you wanted the service before entering when in your room. Rooms generally clean but some marks and grubbiness on kitchen units cupboards. They are large spaces to keep immaculate. Freeview large TV in both bedrooms. Toilets are only in bedrooms and if you are on the kitchen lounge dining area whilst others are on bed you'll disturb them. Lovely bay view. There are uncovered windows in the upstairs bedroom in penthouse above door height that then allows higher rooms to see into your bedroom. The hotel did arrange to cover our during our stay. Hotel grounds and overall look was beautiful. Lots of mature and well kept gardens, plants. Hotel setting in Marigot Bay is amazing. There are limited air conditioned dining options, most are open or outdoor albeit covered. Food options on the whole appear good value for all inclusive and only very few items are chargeable. It'd be expensive if not on an all inclusive basis based on menu prices. I generally enjoyed the food and preferred there not being a buffet and food cooked to order. That did highlight a few issues with waiting times for food courses most meals however of a good enough quality you can tolerate that. There were issues with meal consistency with the same dishes not being the same if ordering on a different sitting. Room service was initially delayed when we arrived on 2 occasions although easy to order via the app. The raised issue to the butler service did seem to address this for future orders with them progressing our orders or bringing themselves. Special mention to asran and Erika who were excellent at their jobs and very lovely with it. The hotel never really felt busy with 114 rooms. Fairly easy to access sun loungers especially at the lower pool. Beech was better than expected and a good boat service over to it. Never very busy. There are people not associated with the hotel providing the complementary paddle board, boat etc and sellers on the beech who will try to sell you other services. There seems to be a fairly liberal use of cannabis in and around the beach. Not very busy with hotel guests. Excursion costs are high. $300 USD taxis to get you there and back. Look to arrange these independent of the consierge as prices are inflated. Overall not quite what we were expecting based on hotel information but still for what we paid and the overall facilities I'd give it 8/10

Great
The aesthetic was amazing! Villas was nicely. The food needs to improve. They kept saying they ran out of food especially beef items. Need more cultural food.
